NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 26/03/2022 02:59

I’m considering lip filler but nothing too drastic just a small amount

What should I be looking for and how much is it

I’m out of my depth

Sorry, my pics didn't post before. I think they have now 🤞. I think subtle enough that you wouldn't know but improvement?

Lineofconcepcion · 26/03/2022 20:02

I'm so sorry but all of these look so fake and consequently to me unattractive, but absolutely people can do what they choose with their bodies.

Ottolin3 · 26/03/2022 20:06

Hi! Where are you located?

jungledoc · 26/03/2022 20:08

If you want as natural looking as poss (they never look natural) than 0.5ml

MrOllivander · 26/03/2022 20:11

I don't think it's always obvious if well done. I've been told mine are uneven and lumpy before Confused

Lip fillers - help!

@HeyMicky

Firstly, make sure your injector is a prescriber so they can deal with any emergencies.

Secondly, I would would recommend a clinic that uses a cannula rather than a needle - much finer layers, the filler runs along the lip rather than pooling in spots, and there is much less bruising.

Seems like good advice

If you cannot be dissuaded (sadly) then obviously go the best doctor you can afford - definitely not some beauty practitioner off Facebook.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 26/03/2022 20:20

@mummaj12

I had 0.5mls and I feel like that was just a subtle change to my lips which is just what I wanted to be honest.
They’re good. But I can ‘see’ it. That’s what puts me off - other people noticing my vanity and the ‘fake’ look.

Again, only commenting because you’ve put it out there but I can see the filler.

If I could be guaranteed no one knew, I’d be all ‘INJECT ME UP’ but the ridges, blown vermillion lines, over-arching pout, too filled bottom lips and I run scared.

Deux · 26/03/2022 20:25

To answer your question OP, I’ve just had a quote from my dentist of £700 for Botox in forehead and a little around crow’s feet and lip filler.

I feel comfortable going with a dentist as per PP as all they deal with is from the neck up and aesthetics is a big part of their work.

For my lips I think it was for 0.5ml in my upper lip mostly. I think often lips are overfilled and the proportions are all wrong. Aesthetically, the height of the top lip should be less than the bottom lip and you often see them the same height.

I haven’t had it done yet. She uses a cannula I think. I found this article interesting

I like MaxCrashtappen's they look natural, the others don't and I think the ones with before pictures, looked better before.

Deux · 26/03/2022 20:29

@MaxCrashtappen I think your filler looks great, really subtle and natural. It’s the kind of change I’m looking for.

mummaj12 · 26/03/2022 20:31

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen Once I'd had the 0.5ml I couldn't really notice at all when looking in the mirror. Just felt a bit plumper however when I had somebody take a photo of me I could instantly tell they looked fake. As much as I loved the feeling of plumper lips 0.5ml was completely enough for me and I'd never have anymore. So I agree with what you're saying when you say you can always tell :)

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen which is my point exactly. I've never had filler.. my lips are natural
So I think when people say oh you can always tell. They're wrong

Watapalava · 26/03/2022 20:33

Max - yours look great to be fair as still smaller than most other people’s natural lips

Deux · 26/03/2022 20:37

I really don’t think you can always tell. You can always tell a badly done job that doesn’t fit with someone’s face aesthetically which is not the same as always being able to tell if someone’s had filler.

Well, I thought you were making it up but I didn’t want to call someone a liar.

jungledoc · 26/03/2022 20:41

@MaxCrashtappen

yours look nice. I think they can look nice & add something just think in most cases they don't look nicer.

@MrOllivander you actually don't look like you have filler. You have natural unevenness & no protrusion.

The others don't look great imo

jungledoc · 26/03/2022 20:44

I've been asked if I have filler because my lips are similar size & I don't really have a cupid's bow (I would like a defined one).

I think lots assume everyone with fuller lips have filler but imo in real life they move very differently. You don't get the protrusion or shadow & it's a different type of swollen if that makes sense.

URMyStarship · 26/03/2022 20:44

I think this thread proves a point.

@MaxCrashtappen is the only photo on the thread where I couldn't immediately tell she'd had fillers. The others are all really obvious. Filled lips look sort of hard rather than spongy, and the lip outline is too sharp. Its definitely a look some people want, but I wouldn't want to look 'done' like that.

UserLibra78 · 26/03/2022 20:46

When I was a child growing up I used to hate my “fat” lips (think Rosie Huntington-Whitley?), but as I grow older I come to appreciate how proportional they are to my face. I never understood the sexual appeal of fat lips but I guess each to their own. OP if you want to do all I can say is go small amount in the first instance and good luck. I hope it boost your confidence. Your money your body your choice

Gonnagetgoing · 26/03/2022 21:03

@MaxCrashtappen - yours is the only one which looks nice and natural the rest sorry fake!

Not posting my lips but I’ve always had full lips, was called names due to them but I’m having the last laugh now! They’re well defined too!

Begbie100 · 26/03/2022 21:22

@URMyStarship I know what you mean about the 'sharpness' but some people's lips are naturally as sharp as that.

I have thin but very sharply define lips, that also appear as if they have a lip liner on the top lip, the don't they just look like that!

I've got shit lips but a really defined Cupid's bow. I can't use typical lip liner cos it looks so fake if I line them. I tried to include a pic but won't let me.
