Please help! Warm weather (city break) dressing with a voluminous perimenopausal middle.

I'm 44, and have in the past couple of years developed a perimenopausal middle, which now leaves me at the larger end of size 12, at least around the middle. The rest of me is in pretty good shape, but the clothes that worked for my last city break (2019, those were the days!) look terrible. In fitted Breton T-shirts or vest tops, I'm just all middle and feel so self conscious.

We are off to Sorrento for a few days soon, and will be doing lots of walking and active visits. Dresses with a waist work well, and I've packed a couple for sunny days. I have two pairs of cropped jeans which look nice, but what can I wear on top to flatter my middle? All the shops seems to have fitted or tucked in tops, which look lovely, but aren't an option. I guess I'll also need to be able to layer whatever I choose, as it can get chilly in the evenings.

Any ideas of styles/ shops I can try would be really helpful as I'm at a bit of a loss and really want to feel like I can look nice again!

Love the playsuit @Bickles but also love the stone jacket worn with it.

I've just ordered wide leg crop jeans from M & S (with stretch) saw them IRL at Marble Arch and loved them - they claim to be high waisted so I'm hoping I can smooth everything out and just wear with skimming t shirts and a (see above!) stone jacket over.

I have just given up on finding flattering tshirts without puff sleeves or smocked tops, and am buying loose linen or cotton shirts instead in bright colours over a vest top. Like this. www.johnlewis.com/mango-cotton-shirt/pink/p6090306

Came on to say that on the basis of this thread I went and bought the Hush bay Jersey dress

Brilliant for covering my peri tum! Just wish it came in brighter / other colours.

I've just bought these for a weekend break, they look great with a t-shirt and trainers, thought I'd share! Very slimming, I'm going to buy the green too.

On another thread instagram.com/lottiedrynan?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
was recommended, she's great! I'm off to check out her F & F jeans recommendation today. She wears some lovely dresses too.

I bought this top today from Asda, highly recommend, great for hiding a tummy and very flattering... I've just ordered the white too, looks great with boyfriend jeans and only £12.50.
