That sounds very impressive @ScottishMouse. I tried on a pair of cotton linen trousers today which I bought in the sale last year and I think I might need to do some adjusting to the elasticated waist too. It fits fine, but the trousers really billow out beneath it, front and back, so I wondered if an adjustment might make a difference

ScottishMouse · 13/03/2022 18:29

I’m not an expert @faustina, but it was relatively easy to do. The hardest part was unpicking all the stitching, as there were rows of stitching the length of the elastic to keep it in place. I didn’t bother putting those back in, I’ll wear them and see if the elastic starts to roll or move and I’ll put them in if it does.

paintyhands · 14/03/2022 10:21

Hi Toasties, I don’t post on here often but do read the threads. I haven’t bought any new Toast for a while but I do have a few older items that I plan to sell - do you find EBay is the best or am I missing a better platform through which to sell pre-loved Toast?

Countmeout · 14/03/2022 14:03

Brass Alix. Same size as I have them in black works however they are an inch less in waist (May stretch and I sometimes feel my black ones are slightly too loose) same length on me at 5’4” just about right I feel. They are about an inch wider as @faustina pointed out but will be a used summer trouser. Love the colour.

Longer length Oxford shirt too long and overwhelming on me and the Apricot check is a lovely cut for me but the colour is an absolutely no go.

faustina · 14/03/2022 14:30

They look fabulous @Countmeout! And they do stretch (or at least my others all have). I'm waiting for the gingham pair to arrive before I decide which to keep

@paintyhands - I sell my Toast things via ebay, but I think other people have used Vinted, though prices are lower there, and I think some people have had disappointing results when buying from there

Does anyone have this workwear jacket?

www.toa.st/collections/womens-coats-jackets/products/garment-dyed-workwear-jacket-lichen

I’m wondering about sizing? Im a bit reluctant to order multiple because of the huge price tag! I want it roomy.

Anyone think there will be a spring sale? Seems unlikely as they have only just released the collection but looking back they had a sale weekend in April in 2020 and a spring sale in March 2020!

Nanasueathome · 15/03/2022 08:37

I’ve checked back my order history and bought sale items early June last year, 2021

Nanasueathome · 15/03/2022 08:39

Sorry, it was July last year, not june

I have it in burgundy from last years sale. I bought my normal high street size and can wear a thick jumper under it.
Snowyowl78 · 15/03/2022 09:04

@ilovecherries thanks that’s helpful!

Countmeout · 15/03/2022 10:58

Thanks @faustina.

I have a couple of workwear jackets @Snowyowl78. I sized down but I don’t wear a jumper below. Tend to use as a spring/summer jacket.

I thought there was a spring sale last year but can’t see what it was I bought as the details have disappeared on my order history. I can’t see what they’d put in it this year as I think they’ll carry a lot of stuff over to next winter.

Snowyowl78 · 15/03/2022 11:54

@Countmeout thank you!

I’m not sure if there was one in 2021 but definitely for 2020 as I’ve got the emails. Fingers crossed for one in 2022 although I am not hopeful!

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/03/2022 12:41

I have bitten the bullet and ordered the Tangram Poplin dress. It looks like a dress i will love. I sized down becuase in store the Fir Check Cotton dress (which seems to be the same cut) looked huge, although I didn't try it on.

I have also ordered the wool cotton gingham top with the big sleeves. I tried it on in store and loved it but now i can't remember if i had sized down so have ordered two sizes. I will report back when they arrive Grin.

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/03/2022 12:43

@paintyhands, there is a small Toast Facebook group which came out of these pages. We said that we would sell things via that but it hasn't really happened. I have a an unworn (still has tags on) denim skirt from last season that I may put on there.

Laska2Meryls · 15/03/2022 15:03

Saurus is it you who has the Luna dress.? . I have just bought one in ebay , as I need a black dress sadly for a funeral but .. it has long sleeves and a gathered waist but somehow I was convinced that yours was the same shape as the olive easy dress of last summer ( and of course cant find it)

Laska2Meryls · 15/03/2022 15:16

ah it is , I have just found a photo of you in it on an old thread, I remember you telling me the name of it, when I asked previously.. I have been searching for one ever since.. but could only find the ones I have nowbought which is the same print but a different shape..

Strange though, I cant even see yours in any Toast back catalogues..

@Laska2Meryls I have it too, it’s short sleeved and has a v neck, basically the same as the Harlequin but with more crepey material. It’s referred to as ‘ Luna Print Dress | Carbon/Black’ but I can’t find a picture anywhere either! I think the one you’re getting is the same pattern/material but different shape.

ToastCosILoveIt · 15/03/2022 17:54

@Laska2Meryls, i have a Toast dress like that from many years ago: same or similar print but slightly different style. I still wear it now.

yesbutnobut · 15/03/2022 17:57

ToastCosILoveIt
I saw the tangram dress in store the other day (Islington) and it definitely caught my eye as a lovely dress, one of the nicer items from this season so far

TerrierOrTerror · 15/03/2022 17:59

@ToastCosILoveIt would love to know the name of that Facebook page!

paintyhands · 15/03/2022 18:12

Oh thank you @ToastCosILoveIt, I had wondered if there was a Facebook selling page but a search didn’t bring anything up. I would also love to know what it’s called please.

Stravaig · 15/03/2022 18:24

@paintyhands If you sell via Facebook, you'll miss all those potential buyers who won't go near it. This is especially true if you're selling the black self-stripe wool linen trousers from about 15 years ago 😁

More objectively, I've found it easy to sell Toast via eBay, mostly new with/without tags, or gently worn. I use Buy It Now, never auction. Not tried the newer sites yet, though following others experiences with interest.

@TerrierOrTerror and @paintyhands - if you want to join our little Facebook group it's not searchable by name as it's private, but please message me or @ilovecherries and we'll send you an invitation.

Yes I think it appeared briefly and sold out, wish I had bought it now.
. Anyway I got the new one at a good price, so I can always sell on and should get my money back if its not me..
