@AFingerofFudge the pieces you're keeping look beautiful! The crinkle dress I ordered is arriving today, and I haven't received a despatch email for the jacket which worries me because a few times this has meant there's been a screw up and I get a 'sorry' email a few days later

AmethystMoonShine · 17/06/2022 06:57

@AFingerofFudge love that red jacket on you, a special piece for sure. I also love the colour of that orange dress, sadly it doesn’t suit my colouring but I’d be all over it if it did.

Snowyowl78 · 17/06/2022 08:30

There is loads of new stuff on the ‘New In’ bit today! Some nice things. Slightly odd way of doing things having a big sale and a new drop at the same time

Stoic123 · 17/06/2022 08:41

I got trigger-happy and ordered a sling bag and couple of tees in the sale on top of earlier hoard 😬

Has anyone on here had experience of Toast Circle (I know a lot of you sell and buy 2nd hand instead)? The weekend events rather than permanent ones in some shops. Thinking of taking a few items (barely/never worn) in on Sat but would like to try and get something in return. Is it better to go earlier/later in the day?

Stoic123 · 17/06/2022 10:09

First sale package arrived.

Red wrap jacket - a thing of joy and delight.

Carpenter trousers in Parchment - 'carpenter features' a little odd but I would have found quite useful for gardening etc if in a darker colour. Usual Toast quality (quite thick material) and fits well (I'm a 12-14 with a bit of a belly and 12 was a relaxed but not overly baggy fit). At sales price, a keeper.

FiddleFigs · 17/06/2022 10:31

@Stoic123 I'm tempted by the carpenter trousers - how's the length? I'm quite tall, and although I like a cropped length most Toast trousers are a bit too cropped for my height.

Stoic123 · 17/06/2022 11:17

@FiddleFigs - I'm 5 ft 7in and short waisted/long legged (normally would buy Long trousers somewhere like M&S).

Not cropped. Would probably prefer a tad longer but happy with length for flat shoes. Will try and upload photo.

FiddleFigs · 17/06/2022 11:24

@Stoic123 - that's brilliant, thank you! I think I'll give them a go.

AmethystMoonShine · 17/06/2022 11:48

Like the look of those @Stoic123 ive got the coming tomorrow and I’m a similar size and shape to you by the sounds of it.

mizu · 17/06/2022 12:00

@Stoic123 I've taken things into the TOAST Circle a few times but I am happy to take the vouchers to use another time in the places where they have it permanently.

It's a bit hit and miss and not sure whether 1st thing is better as people are bringing things in and swapping all day.

I've picked up a couple of lovely things - and a couple that I've swapped back another time as just haven't worn them.

TerrierOrTerror · 17/06/2022 12:47

I have been very restrained in this sale.

A few things I had my eye on were reduced, but most not enough to encourage me. I did order the check cotton jersey dress (black with the red bit at the bottom) but that is it.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 17/06/2022 12:52

Oh, the new things! Why do you do this to us Toast? I've just spent silly money on several items that haven't even arrived yet, and now I'm lusting after some fresh pieces.

The Strata check dress (always looking for dresses I can breastfeed in) and the balloon utility trousers look right up my alley.

However I'll patiently await my sale items and hope they scratch this itch first.

Stoic123 · 17/06/2022 12:58

@mizu - thank you. Will probably just go in when most convenient and take away a voucher if nothing appeals.

balkanscot · 17/06/2022 13:57

Has anyone tried/bought the cotton linen circle dress? It is in the sale but it’s still £175… I have been lusting after it for as long I saw it but always thought £295 for a summer (bear in mind I live in Scotland and the current heatwave warning doesn’t apply) but at £175 I am now in the “Hmmm… maybe” camp.

dudsville · 17/06/2022 14:19

Have new things been added? I haven't seen them.

Oh well, BAD NEWS. My things arrived and I like almost all of it! Shit.

The returns: I bought the brick and the marble pyjamas in two sizes so I can send two pj's back. I also order the brick check house cotton gown and it's fun but I just don't need the faffy sleeves in my mornings so that can go back. The spiced orange dress is sooo beautiful but I think it will wear me rather than the other way around.

The keeps: In addition to the pjs I also got the cotton nighties in both brick and marble and love them so that's my new supply of elegant toast nightwear.

The cotton short sleeve circular tee, I love the cut of this, reminds me of the 80's in a good way, creates a great shape.

The japanese check trousers - I like these a lot, and they were cute with the above tee, but it's like nothing else in my wardrobe, so I'm going to sleep on it. But for £55 I'm likely to give them a go.

The seed check cotton shirt dress. I love this. I sized down and it's still swishy but it is also very "little house" so I am going to make it short sleeved.

The olive oil shirt dress is a def win. I sized down, and maybe if I went down one more size it might be more wearable out, but it's not meant to be fitted and at this size it's swishy and lovely to wear.

The broken check cotton shirt is less opaque than I'd hoped for, but it's right up my street.

The darted cords in earth and the cord tapered trousers in brown slate are both super soft and make great silhouettes.

Darn, darn, darn.

Snowyowl78 · 17/06/2022 15:51

Mine are hit and miss:
Emma chestnut tee hit obviously love the colours I think these ones are much longer in the arms than before?
Cotton Linen Knitted Top | Montella- too small and probably a miss anyway, more of a jumper than I imagined
Crochet Placket Cardigan | Bone- I like the look of this and the crochet is lovely but I don’t think it flatters my shape
Collared Cotton Linen Tee Navy- hit!
Loop Back Jersey Rolled Neck Top | Charcoal - slightly odd but another hit!

all in all good for my bank balance but I await another parcel!

dudsville · 17/06/2022 16:20

@Snowyowl78 , I like the colours of that emma tee but I don't like linen, even linen mixes, butdo you think the colour irl was not the same as online? I think that about the olive oil dress which looks a very perky yellow on line.

After writing my long post above I had a stern word with myself and tried everything back on. I was under the sale spell. I've sent back the pj sets, the tops are ridiculously large whilst the waistbands are a little snug, ideally i woudl have been able to choose the items individually. I also sent back the brown slate cords - I went up and down the stairs in them and found that there were odd seams in wrong places - sometimes the construction of Toast items is a little odd! And I sent back the too see-through top.

That feels better.

Snowyowl78 · 17/06/2022 16:33

@dudsville i think it’s pretty much the same as online? Good willpower on your purchases!

faustina · 17/06/2022 17:17

@dudsville - I have that olive oil dress and I love it, though haven't worn it yet this year. My crinkle dress came today and I think it's going back - the top half is a bit too square and high necked, and the armholes are also a bit too big. Useful if I lived at the beach I guess - but I don't! Lichen jacket due to arrive tomorrow for which I'm more hopeful

ScottishMouse · 17/06/2022 17:23

Which crinkle dress was that @faustina? I missed out on the black short sleeve one with the checked lining, and am on the lookout for a return.

ScottishMouse · 17/06/2022 17:24

My parcel is coming tomorrow. Yay!

ScottishMouse · 17/06/2022 17:25

@Snowyowl78, how is the sizing on the collared linen cotton top?

faustina · 17/06/2022 17:32

@ScottishMouse - it isn’t lined. It came in black/ecru and orange. I think you’re thinking of a different one

ScottishMouse · 17/06/2022 17:34

Ah yes, I know the one @faustina. I liked the look of that one too.
