@Snowyowl78 @Countmeout Thank you, that’s reassuring!

Countmeout · 25/05/2022 20:21

I should have said I’m only buying one item at a time and returning one item @missmoon after a bit of a hiccup when I returned 2 things and they managed not to refund one and the whole thing was stressy. I can do this because I have the post pass.

sounds great @Laska2Meryls . Glad you enjoyed your visit to kilver.

that’s very annoying @happysoju .

AmethystMoonShine · 26/05/2022 05:48

Glad Kilver Court was worth the trip @Laska2Meryls , like the kaftan dress. I’d have been dangerous in all that night wear….my weakness Grin

dudsville · 26/05/2022 18:06

I'm really tempted to treat myself to a day out to go to chilvers Court. It would be such a big day out for me though, 4 hours there and back, but I imagine buying coffees and croissants and reading my book on the train.... it's a crazy idea though isn't it?????

dudsville · 26/05/2022 18:07

Oops, I made up a new name, Kilver obviously!

dudsville · 26/05/2022 18:40

Well that was a little trip down fantasy lane. It would be £130 ish for train tickets, taxis, meals.

Laska2Meryls · 26/05/2022 20:29

The thing is though , Dudsville , it really is a veryrandom selection of things , they were unpacking boxes of stuff (from where , I dont know) and its ' whatever' there is on the day .. Things seem to average about half price with a few about 1/3rd, or 2/3 rd no lower as far as I could see .. There were certainly things that I as a Toast fan for several years,.cannot remember ever seeing previously, for example some heavy cream silk shirts.. and certainly stuff from at least 2 or 3 seasons ago.. as well as things that were definitely in the last sale. I would do again if ( when!) we are next in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip. Sadly Kilver Court itself looks like it used to be a designer outlet shopping complex, but has sadly suffered recently.. Atm there only seems to be really Toast and Mulberry there.. I think that there are plans to restart it up but who knows in this retail climate..

Hm, yes @Laska2Meryls I think I will need to keep it in mind for a side excursion as a part of a bigger trip! I'm not interested in mulbury or other designer stuff so that part of it is fine with me!

I was recently told I was a walking toast advert. Sadly though it wasn't my finest day. I was exhausted and bloated and was definitely dressed for comfort 😂

Saurus72 · 26/05/2022 23:10

@dudsville I’ve been to Kilver Court a couple of times when we’ve been staying nearby. I really really wanted to buy but as @Laska2Meryls says, it’s a v random selection. I was ready to spend a few hundred each time because I wanted some stuff at a bargain price but it didn’t really deliver. I think if you’re at either end of the sizing you might do well. I want it to be the equivalent of the old Archive sales but it hasn’t been which I’m sad about tbh!

dudsville · 27/05/2022 18:48

That's reassuring @Saurus72 ! I think I'm just really wanting a sale, which is silly. I have a full wardrobe of treasured items so I will avoid the long trip for now!

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 28/05/2022 12:46

Hi Toast lovers. Hoping I can join him the fun. Been lurking for awhile; you're all terrible, albeit unwitting, enablers. 😉

I popped into the Islington store the other day with the intention of trying on the Rowan dress. As sometimes happens with Toast, what I wanted didn't suit me at all and I left with something entirely different.

The Rowan was too much fabric for me, in the length and the skirt, bodice and straps too long. Everywhere except the bust, which was so tight I couldn't do up the back button! Once again, Toast hates breasts. 😆 I tried a 6, they didn't have an 8 but I'm sure it would have drowned me (I tend to veer between the two at Toast).

I did however buy the Alder check dress, which wasn't even on my radar before seeing it in the flesh. It is utterly gorgeous, far more so than the photos online suggest. The fabric is stunning and quality, and the cut is flattering - more swingy cape on me than dumpy sack online (no offence to the model). All the details like side slits at the hem and a thick placket at the back yoke just scream quality, and despite me being just 5'2", it also managed to be the perfect length on me! Strongly recommend.

Does anybody have any intel on when the next sale might be? The salesgirl mentioned one but I stupidly didn't press for details!

Stoic123 · 28/05/2022 13:15

Hi @pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs

No intel on a sale but, if similar to last year, would be around 2 weeks' time. There are more knowledgeable folks on this thread who might have a better idea.

ScottishMouse · 28/05/2022 14:14

Welcome @pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs! I have an “early access to the summer sale” email from June 16th last year. So not long now!

TheTeaFairy · 29/05/2022 08:35

Hello, delurking with a question for you lovely Toast people...

Can anyone tell me about the sizing for the Toast nightdress? The one with thin straps. I can't see anything about it in the reviews and seem to have convinced myself that it will be the perfect light summer dress for my holiday.

I'm 5ft 7, broad of shoulder and small of boob, if that helps. Would be grateful for any size pointers as it's £££!

Thank you 🙏

dudsville · 29/05/2022 09:31

Morning! I have toast sale purchases with June dates from last year.

I haven't purchased those @TheTeaFairy but this might serve as a bit of a bump for your question!

Countmeout · 29/05/2022 10:39

Which one @TheTeaFairy ? I have one from this year with thin straps.
what size do you normally wear?
I am 10-12 in real life and bought small.

TheTeaFairy · 29/05/2022 12:36

Thank you both for replying.

Yes, the one with the thin straps. I'm normally a 10-12 too, so small should be okay. Thanks so much 😊💫

Do you love yours, @Countmeout?

ilovecherries · 29/05/2022 17:44

I’m 5’7” and a very ‘sturdy’ 12 (no way ever a 10-12), and I find medium perfect, so agree with small.

sonjadog · 29/05/2022 18:18

Hi! I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with this dress, or one like it? I have been looking at it on the website for a while now, but it is hard to say how it fits. I live abroad and will have to pay toll and postage if I buy it, so would like to be as sure as I can be before I do.

Countmeout · 29/05/2022 19:13

Yes the quality as usual is lovely @TheTeaFairy .. mine is the geo block print one. I intend to wear it on holiday as a sundress as per the video on Toast live. It is not see through and like all the Toast nighties I have it has pockets. Love a pocket . It is not too low in the front.

ScottishMouse · 29/05/2022 20:38

@sonjadog , I have tried this dress, although I didn’t buy it. I am a size 10-12 and would usually buy a size small in Toast dresses of this type, but this was very big indeed. I definitely could have sized down to an xs in this one. The top part was very wide and oversized.
Hope that helps somewhat.

sonjadog · 29/05/2022 20:45

Thank you very much! That is a great help. Do you remember if the bodice was in thick or thin jersey?

ScottishMouse · 29/05/2022 21:13

It wasn’t very thin, but it wasn’t super thick either. Sorry, that’s not that helpful. It was like a tshirt rather than a Breton top kind of weight, I guess.

happysoju · 29/05/2022 21:40

@pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs I had a similar issue to you with the bust on the Rowan dress. I put it down to buying the wrong size so I have a size 10 coming in the mail, and crossing my fingers it's nothing but perfect! Glad that you ended up finding something else to love.

I too am eagerly waiting for a sale....

TheTeaFairy · 30/05/2022 05:49

Thanks @Countmeout, great to know it will work as a dress. 💫
