Hello ... Here is another thread for sharing our love of Toast.

Looking forward to some lighter and brighter days and wearing spring colours ..

@Countmeout I say they come just a touch on the smaller side. I'm a 5.5 but the Ola's fit me perfectly in a size 6.

For comparison the Next sandals mentioned earlier in this thread (maybe by you?) made me look like I had no little toes!

Countmeout · 26/04/2022 17:09

Thanks @goldenshoe . Will have to have a think . No larger than a 5 in stock atm

neveradullmoment99 · 28/04/2022 22:08

So was passing the time browsing some past videos on the Toast website and really giggled when I saw these people standing in this building. At first glance, they looked like actors from a historical drama. I really do wonder about the styles of Toast sometimes. Anyone else see this?

It has all gone a Ibit quiet on this thread recently.
Anyway, I ordered the mustard novesta and a chalk boy tee last week. Love them both. Chalk tee is a bit of a dirty white but I really like it strangely enough. Its got a worn in vibe.
Did a bit of a splurge and ordered the ochre linen check dress and they yellow boy tee. Love the boy tees. Beautiful cotton and I love the fairly square shape which seems to suit my sloping narrow shoulders.
Was inspired by one of the videos and also the fact that I swapped my winter dresses for my summer linen ones [Had them in sealed vaccum bag for storage] I have been enjoying wearing my linen ones so much over the last few stunningly sunny days here.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/04/2022 22:15

So any new purchase for anyone else? Or are we all waiting for the sale?

Stoic123 · 29/04/2022 07:16

@neveradullmoment99

I'm waiting for the new season and/or sale for clothes buying. Nothing currently on the website/in local Toast shop is inspiring me at full price.

Might pick up one or two of the home items (napkins and the Lucy Rutter yellow jug if it comes back in stock).

applecatchers36 · 29/04/2022 07:29

Also mainly waiting for sale. Might get some Novesta's once weather warms up a bit. Got a few things in the sample sale which was pleased with and it made a difference being able to see things and try them on.

neveradullmoment99 · 29/04/2022 07:46

Well I think that this will be my last splurge until the sale. Happy to wait for other things and may even return these purchases. Just wanted to try and see.
Will keep the lemon tee though.

Countmeout · 29/04/2022 08:13

I saw that video @neveradullmoment99 . I don’t sew but it was interesting to watch particularly as they showed some Toast clothes on models as well.

Theres a new drop in May before sale I presume .
My only purchase has been a pair of cotton leaf trousers from eBay - Which are exactly what I was looking for in terms of shape and fit. So I’ve held off on the pyjama bottoms although I’m very tempted by those. And I still don’t know if I’d get enough wear out of the Fracap sandals to justify the price.

Saurus72 · 29/04/2022 08:27

I’m waiting for the new drop in May in the hope there might be some dresses that are not brown, have sleeves, aren’t tent-like and are vaguely flattering. Last Autumn I couldn’t move for them and bought a lot - this season not so much. On that basis, I don’t think I’ll be buying in the sale either as there’s nothing I want full-price. Unless they include previous season stock. Have bought from Sezane which I’m pleased with - no pockets tho…😕

agnesmartin · 29/04/2022 08:29

I managed to nab a pair of the tie waisted gingham trousers before they sold out online. A size 12 which I didn't expect - but gave them a go as the 14 was OS.

Absolutely love them - even if all the cloth will mean I need to get the iron out before I wear them.

Also have a t-shirt arriving today but doubt I'll keep it.

Not inspired by much in stock tbh. Warm, sludgy colours don't suit me unfortunately.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 29/04/2022 08:44

I'm no longer able to post from my ipad since the update Angry so I'm struggling to use mumsnet.

Not really loving anything much on Toast atm. I've bought a few bits on ebay and Vinted - mostly tees but I did get the Denim Pleated Trousers, which I love.
Also hoping for some nice dresses in the May drop.

Snowyowl78 · 29/04/2022 08:52

Ooh when do you think the May drop will be? I got the slate shirt with the white buttons recently and I love it, also managed to get the long sleeved version on eBay as well as a cashmere sweater at a great price so pleased with both of those

I used to order from sezane pre brexit. How does postage work out? Is it just as simple as it was? I think they went through a period where they stopped posting out to the UK. I haven't ordered since. I have a few nice pieces from them.

Saurus72 · 29/04/2022 10:21

@neveradullmoment99 It was all really straightforward - I just checked my order and it took 4 days to get here, £8 delivery which is a lot thinking about it. Can’t comment on returns because I kept it. The clothes are pretty good quality - not cheap but they do last.

Saurus72 · 29/04/2022 10:28

I bought this dress in the black and white polka dots, really good day dress

Gonegrey31 · 29/04/2022 10:48

I bought the Circle Neck Cotton Linen top last week, in the (forlorn) hope of warmer weather. I've kept it because the colour is lovely, a soft flattering blue that looks good with many items I have, especially the various blue linen or denim trousers acquired in past seasons. I bought the size 8 , my normal size, which fits well - I sized down in some other recent shirts but think a 6 would have been too small in this item.

TheChattyRat · 29/04/2022 13:22

That top looks nice @Gonegrey31 i would have got it if I hadn’t already bought the tie neck one which I think is a similar colour.
That was my last toast purchase and I haven’t even been successful on eBay which is my usual hunting ground.
I’m not too drawn to anything from toast at the moment (too brown [Wink) apart from the denim skirts - there is a new one on line that looks good. Skirts aren’t great on me though.
I kind of regret not keeping the gingham dress with the puff sleeves - wondered how long that style would be wearable. It may reappear in an archive sale I guess.
@neveradullmoment99 thats funny about the photo! I do like the lady on the right with the black dress and trainers, I assume the dress isn’t toast?
I like that sezane dress @Saurus72 - love a polka dot!

Saurus72 · 29/04/2022 14:28

Ah @TheChattyRat perhaps I could enable you with the polka dots! I also bought This dress also fab ☺️

NoCureForLove · 29/04/2022 16:08

I like them both Saurus. Is it "naice" viscose 😀
How do they come up size wise...
TIA.

TempleofZoom · 29/04/2022 17:02

My denim pinafore and the Batik Square tank arrived.
Denim pinafore lovely as before.
So pleased with the Batik tank -I saw it in a shop and took a guess that the size 10 would be plenty big enough and like the dress its such a nice cut around the arm holes and shoulders and very gently A line.
I bought the Community Clothing culottes that someone linked to up thread anc they look nice together.
Otherwise very ho hum about Toast, Im usually eyeing things but quite frankly zero interest in brown or yellow.

Saurus72 · 29/04/2022 17:42

@NoCureForLove the Sezane dress feels quite cotton-like - I'm a Toast size 12, and a high street (Whistles etc) size 14, and the Sezane dress is a 14. The Noa Noa one feels more like the viscose that Toast uses for dresses - it's a size 16 and fits pretty well - I think I could have had my usual size 14 but the shop didn't have one (I bought it from a little shop, not JL). I'm pleased with them both - though really didn't need them both 😏

NoCureForLove · 29/04/2022 17:53

Thanks. I love love love a polka dot!

mizu · 29/04/2022 18:54

theteapotsbrokenspout I cannot use my iPad to post anymore either. 2nd generation and very old and cracked but loved using it for mumsnet, no ads, and was so used to the layout.

applecatcher I went to the sample sale too Smile loved it but only bought one dress despite trying on SO many.
