I think there’s some new stuff on today. I like the black shirt with the white buttons. MN won’t let me post a pic!

TempleofZoom · 26/03/2022 07:29

@neveradullmoment99

Good to know *@TempleofZoom* Is it roomy in the bust? I am a 34E
No not really
ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 08:56

@Snowyowl78, this? - www.toa.st/collections/womens-shirts/products/dry-cotton-jersey-shirt-slate It looks like a nice basic piece although at £90 it better be good,,,,

Snowyowl78 · 26/03/2022 09:19

@ToastCosILoveIt yes that’s the one. Price is silly!

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 09:39

@TempleofZoom, we seem to be the same size more or less which is good to know for future reference and ordering! I love that dress but am a 12 32gg: I wonder if it would be tight across the bust and I would need to go to a medium? Also, does the top cover the top of the shoulders in their entirety? Many thanks.

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 10:56

Ooh, look at this. Has the potential to be anywhere between wildly flattering and terrible. Possibly too much material in the bottom half? www.toa.st/products/woodland-check-circle-skirt-chestnut-butter

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 11:09

Just realised that the circle dress -- www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/cotton-linen-circle-dress-parchment - on the styling video is £295....looked nice but nowhere near that nice and if I wore that colour I would attract stains like a magnet.

Also, agree that the cotton linen smock dress - www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/cotton-linen-smock-dress-spice - is way too short. With my bust I would look very matronly in it. It is a shame as I like the styling of the top half and it could be a fab dress. There seems to be a deep hem but it is a gamble to buy it and let it down to see if it falls at the right place below the knee. A good piece if you are shorter i guess.

I have the winter version of that with long sleeves but actually it’s a pain n to wear as the buttons are too far apart. It’s not too tight on me, but because of the spaces you can see right in at different points. Re-spaced with one extra button would have been ideal. I’ve been using mine as a cardi.

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 12:18

Interesting, thanks @ilovecherries

Countmeout · 26/03/2022 14:21

No one has a bust on the Toast video or on the models. I think they’re designed expecting no one to have a bust of any size.

Sorry only just saw this.
I dont receive the @notifications as it was a random email that I signed up with, I never use it !
Its more fitted on me than the model, the shoulder fitting is exactly the same as the picture.
I should add Im very slim around arms and shoulders and it fits exactly so if you are muscular/ rounded in that area then probably a medium.

TempleofZoom · 26/03/2022 15:04

Just measured it flat pit to pit -18inches ,so 36 total
I think as a 32GG you might find it too tight.

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/03/2022 18:02

Thanks @TempleofZoom, really appreciate it. I am slim around the arm and shoulders too but I think this is one to try on in the shops.

No worries. Its quite full in the skirt so may be it will be ok if you are slim up top. I really do wish they would put measurements up Or here is Cassandra who is a size 2 and 12 foot tall wearing a size xs, held in with bulldog clips
Laska2Meryls · 26/03/2022 19:46

" whereas, You dear purchaser, will have to order an XS in these relaxed trousers to have any hope of fitting but will not get these other fixed waist ones anywhere round you in the XL ... And as for tops and dresses: this one will fit in a 10 but you having norks will mean that in any others, we are having a laugh.. ( or will smother you in acres of mud colour artisan hand woven fabric, but
buying it will support a woman's collective in Borneo or Bogata ...
(However they do all go beautifully with this non complimentary organic mushroom)

Has anyone ever bought anything from Community Clothing? I’m wondering what quality and sizing are like. I like the look (and price!) of these:

TheChattyRat · 27/03/2022 09:26

I have a few things from there, quality is good, I think sizing is true to size but might depend what the item is. I think someone on this thread ordered those trousers but can’t remember who.

TosstTastic · 27/03/2022 10:16

This was the morning message from Cos. Similar colours to Toast.

Orange is having a moment, let's hope it's not a decade like the 70s.

AFingerofFudge · 27/03/2022 14:06

@ScottishMouse it was me that ordered those trousers! I'm sorry I probably forgot to report back on them. They were beautiful quality and I loved them but had to return them as they were too long for my 5ft 2 size. I think sometimes trousers that are supposed to be cropped on others look ok on my as longer length but these just didn't look right coming over my ankles.

AFingerofFudge · 27/03/2022 14:08

This is the only (bad) photo I have but you can get the idea I think.

Toasties - Springing on ...
ScottishMouse · 27/03/2022 14:29

Ah thanks @AFingerofFudge, that’s so helpful! I am 5’2” at a stretch, so they would likely be too short on me too. Totally agree that some cropped trousers will work on us shorter folks, but these need to be cropped. You’ve saved me an order and a disappointment, so thank you.
Thanks also to you and @TheChattyRat for answering the quality question though, I will keep the brand in mind for other things.

Boiledeggandtoast · 27/03/2022 21:35

@neveradullmoment99

Well the green linen washed easy dress [ that is also in highlighter yellow and grey] that I wanted disappeared from the website and was told it was maybe supply issues. I am so disappointed about that. Was hanging off ordering until it was a bit warmer too. Also sold out in the small. Anyone got it? People saying it is generous? I am a 12-14. Wondering if it ever comes back in stock, which size would be best.
Long time lurker here.

I bought this in XS. I am a slim, very flat-chested, size 8 on the high street and the top of the dress fits me perfectly. The linen is a lovely heavy weight and the colour is gorgeous, but the bottom half is huge and not very flattering. I was in two minds about whether to return this but in the end decided to keep it and try and take in the skirt part.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/03/2022 22:57

Thank you @Boiledeggandtoast
It sounds very much like it isn't for me. What a shame!
Looks nice in the picture and very deceiving. If I am to get the medium I reckon to fit my chest, the bottom will be huge then!

dollywouldnt · 28/03/2022 12:34

caught up on the styling video - not the main toast woman calling the black model J-Lo instead of Jael? amazed they didn't cut it (guess they can't if live?). awful.

on a lighter note, also think it's a shame the orange/white smock dresses are so short. I'd have bought if a bit longer. and glad to see the sailor dress on someone, I really love it.

TheChattyRat · 28/03/2022 13:19

I also found the J Lo bit cringey - she said it quite a few times too. Otherwise I enjoyed the video but it was all clothes that we (as toast super fans Grin ) have seen before. I like the sailor dress too.

I have a positive toast purchase to report - the tie neck chambray top. Really like this on, unusual shape and nice fabric.

@Laska2Meryls love your most recent post! Very apposite
