The fine striped shirt / jacket ( which I ordered in blue) reminds me of a Monsoon Mao type jacket I had when I was about 20!
( Recreating my youth, sadly though at 4 sizes larger 😥)

Saurus I had thought of ordering that crinkle dress! Glad that I didn't now ...

I am loving my new trousers, they have not stinted on the fabric.

Name change fail! TosstTastic with my firewood.

Countmeout · 25/03/2022 16:51

That’s disappointing @Saurus72. I thought that would be a useful hot day dress too. It must be all behind the model in the photo.
I liked the cream dress in the video but not the price ( and the likely hood of getting it dirty before I left the house) . It’s obviously not a dress for carrying firewood in.
I got the Ash shirt in the green colour way today, citrus it’s called. Loved it immediately and wore it out today. Very light and as they said in the video it’s fitted beautifully in the front. It looks nice with navy. It is fractionally bigger I thought than the peach colour ( which I returned as the colour was awful on me , refund thankfully now sorted ) and the green is greener than it appears online to me. The line is a purpley brown as are the buttons.
Will the sample sale not be all tiny ( relatively speaking) sizes? I hope some of you get along to it and give us all a report so we can feel as if we’ve been there .

faustina · 25/03/2022 17:07

ilovecherries · 25/03/2022 17:24

Does anyone have the Lydia jumpsuit? I'm wondering what its like to get in and out of - I'm not great with back fastenings. I'm a twirler even with my bra.

Laska2Meryls · 25/03/2022 18:04

Today I have been wearing my pecan trousers ( again, thats 3 times this week already , but just put them in the wash and they've come out fine) and Toast navy boat neck tee.. Now changed into some lovely stripe pj bottoms from last summer sale ( the ones with the palm tree shirt top )and ochre Emma tee... Accessorised with Toast felt slippers .. Night in ( again).. pass the Wine😀

I have the Lydia jumpsuit in blue. I don't bother with the buttons I just slip over each shoulder if you know what I mean.
I am a bit afraid to keep undoing and doing them up as the Lydia dress was awful for the top undoing itself!
Its quite short in the body, so stick with your normal size.

ScottishMouse · 25/03/2022 18:31

I tried on the new alpaca mix cardi with the elbow length sleeves today, but didn’t buy. The sleeves were a bit baggy, I thought they would be more fitted. It does say easy fit though. They didn’t have the smaller size to try so I might order online to give it a proper go. Has anyone else bought or tried it?

TosstTastic · 25/03/2022 18:35

@faustina

Indigo Stripe SS22
Logs - ash
Plants - models own

Also feeling the Ash Check love, it's very Toast and I mean that in a good way. Sort of thing you wear to death, store away, wear again, then eventually try and track down a fresh one via ebay.

Trip to London today
Work but managed to zip into Toast.
What a let down.
Every single bit of knit wear I looked at had a major, obvious flaw.
Tried the seersucker check dress in a 10, massive and unflattering.
Ditto the Tangram poplin dress, huge !
Colours really dull.
I asked if new dresses would be coming in soon and was told in a very prissy tone that ""Toast are not doing large collections ,its to cut down on waste" Confused
Ok then- off I went empty handed.

Countmeout · 25/03/2022 19:12

Thanks for the Ash check love.

So do we think there’s not much to come then in dresses @TempleofZoom? They didn’t seem to imply there were lots to come in the video yesterday either I thought. Still a lot of brown . It’s a pity the seersucker dress didn’t come in more summery colours.

TosstTastic · 25/03/2022 19:12

I've no idea how to link to Pinterest from here but Toast has ten years of its look book pictures on line.

I'd love to see the even earlier ones again.

Some seasons I could have lived in every single piece, other years nothing. Good job the clothes tend to last long enough to make it over the dips.

I appreciate the fashion silhouette is very loose at the moment but one of the things I liked about Toast was that it wasn't so obviously trend led. Got to hunt very hard this year for the gems.

Saurus72 · 25/03/2022 19:15

@TempleofZoom re: large collections - what, they’re not making clothes that people actually want to buy because that’s the issue, not waste 🙄. I’ve ordered and returned 3 dresses this season because of general unflattering-ness or ginormous sizing. They need to sort it out - there’s literally nothing I want to order atm, and Ia very enthusiastic shopper!

Saurus72 · 25/03/2022 19:15

Not sure 🤷‍♀️ It was rattled out quick, like this is what you say. Possibly supply chain issues ? The V on the seersucker dress is most odd. Im not remotely flat chested but it made appear so, colours are very autumnal. I also saw but didnt try on the the chambray pintuck dress , lovely fabric but masses of it. £225 ,no idea how they justify that. I feel its all gone very austere when we need something to cheer us up.

Why uses yards and yards of fabric if they are trying to cut waste?
Ive got a size 6 dress upstairs.
Im a 12 .
Im all for realistic sizing but its silly to make things so big.
I felt told off tbh and wont go back to that branch again.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2022 19:44

Well the green linen washed easy dress [ that is also in highlighter yellow and grey] that I wanted disappeared from the website and was told it was maybe supply issues. I am so disappointed about that. Was hanging off ordering until it was a bit warmer too.
Also sold out in the small.
Anyone got it?
People saying it is generous?
I am a 12-14. Wondering if it ever comes back in stock, which size would be best.

Ive got the dark grey in a small. Im a bog standard size 12 ,32FFand its fitted over the shoulders, bust and roomy in the skirt.
neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2022 20:04

Good to know @TempleofZoom
Is it roomy in the bust? I am a 34E

neveradullmoment99 · 25/03/2022 20:04

Sadly the small is now oos, even in that colour.
