I like the look of the Batik dress. Toast really have found their niche with the frocks.
So my sale box was like all Toast sale boxes, optimistic when ordered, disappointed in reality.
I'm back to Toast after a long gap, my shape has changed, which might explain some disappointment. obviously we all miss the 70 % sales of old, where you could try something a bit more unexpected, be more forgiving on the cut or colour.
I was disappointed by the trousers - no linings? is that standard now, even on the wool, winter fabrics?
i was always a bit more on the neat fitting, brogues and wool styles, could have bought everything some years. The boxy cuts don't suit me and sometimes feel that saving on tailoring is being done in the name of fashion.
The sizing is really, really annoying - ok that is why some stuff ends up in the sale but to get it so wrong, time and time again is arrogant. I'm thinking here of the very repeated tencel tee, an xl was a painful skinny fit compared with a Cos L, relaxed fit.
It does put me off having to order say three dress sizes and forensically read the descriptions.
was very excited about the Needlecord raglan Shirt, that's a repeat from years ago, but now without the centre folded placket it was very shapeless, not quirky shapeless. liked the sleeves but no button for rolling up, just fixed now.
The shetland & Donegal knits were lovely, but too much over my large frame, I've gone back to Cos for something cheaper but still in wool with a sharper cut. Worth a try though.
I've kept a lovely dressing gown which made me really nostalgic for my first purchases and the indigo stripe cotton trousers which are amazing, so, so pleased with them.
sending the no's back today, for another churn through the system.
Any update on the JL Pink Dress? I feel invested.
