If you have your receipt, they should refund you immediately

neveradullmoment99 · 19/03/2022 12:14

I really miss the old Toast with great CS.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/03/2022 12:15

Dissapointing about your order.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/03/2022 12:16

I didn't order anything.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/03/2022 12:16

The price of the new Jersey dress is outrageous.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/03/2022 12:17

White stuff did similar. It's lovely but jersey at nearly £200! Come on!

faustina · 19/03/2022 13:01

That's such a shame @ScottishMouse - and annoying about the return going missing. I've had two returns vanish en route to John Lewis by post, so I always take them to Waitrose now - and when possible, I send my ebay things in cheap looking packing in the hope that no-one will bother vanishing them on the journey.

ScottishMouse · 19/03/2022 13:43

I actually just tried on the jacket again in the bigger size, and I think I was hasty. It might be a keeper after all.

Laska2Meryls · 19/03/2022 16:52

Well my absolute bargain £48 JL Toast skirt in Oil arrived ( thanks for the heads up SnowyOwl .. and I am dead chuffed! Arrived little creased but have ironed it now ...

Oh @Laska2Meryls that looks lovely!

TosstTastic · 19/03/2022 18:02

Hello, I feel like now might be a going to rediscover Toast. They must have been going 20 years now.

I stopped, probably for a few reasons, the postage, the expansion but seeing lots of people wearing the same fabrics and a couple of years of catalogues using very, very skinny models.

But I've just put a massive order in, hopefully, it's the rekindling of an old friendship.

Ha, now you have to tell us what you ordered - it’s the law! 😀
faustina · 19/03/2022 18:39

That looks fab on you @Laska2Meryls

yes @TosstTastic - tell us what you ordered!

TosstTastic · 19/03/2022 19:13

I'm now a menopausal shape so it's all on the larger side, how did that happen?
Tried the size gizmo. But my current goto - Cos, is also a but random in cut and fit so we'll see.

What drew me back was the search for the perfect, reach for trousers, went for the full price indigo stripe culottes. In my head I will sweep into a coffee shop, just finishing a warm telephone call, sink gracefully into the lovely table by the window and smile up at the cheerful waitress. I will look the model in the Toast catalogue c2003, an international woman of poise and mystery.
Have also ordered that weird indigo cotton wool jacket in the sale, perhaps it's time to embrace my hormonal shape change, cocoon the tyre with a swinging layer.

faustina · 19/03/2022 19:23

Sounds like the perfect outfit for sweeping into anywhere! hope it fits the bill when it all arrives

Snowyowl78 · 19/03/2022 19:40

I got some brass Alix today and oh god they are so small. I already have two pairs of Alix in a 10 and they fit just fine, but there brass ones are about 2 x smaller!!

ScottishMouse · 19/03/2022 20:43

That is exactly what I found too @Snowyowl78. So frustrating.

SmaugMum · 19/03/2022 21:10

@TosstTastic, you made me smile with your prose. Many’s the day I wish I could be transported back to my carefree life of 2003 (when I was living on an Australian beach), let alone the Toast catalogue. Although living in the Toast catalogue would be a refuge from my current and extreme middle age sandwich lifestyle. Sigh

I’ve not been on for ages but I’ve ordered a pair of tapered cord trousers in black slate to replace my cord Gabis which are bald in the knee creases due to over wear.

I was thrilled to see that I’m also due to receive a Kindred gift; fingers tightly crossed for the silk bandana!

applecatchers36 · 20/03/2022 08:35

Loving catching up with the sale purchases. Some hits (Laska that skirt 😍) and some misses. What was your final decision on the jacket Scottish mouse and can you post a pic?

Smaugmum I entertain similar fantasies of an earlier simple life. Currently trying to restrain our small children from fighting too loudly and waking up elderly parents.

I was too slow on the sale put some things in the basket but when I was able to sit down to try and order they had gone which is probably a good thing 😇

TheChattyRat · 20/03/2022 08:56

Liking the sales chat too. @Laska2Meryls skirt looks good.
I also missed out on a few things I was keen to get (seed shirt and dress - I tried both before but were too oversized in my usual toast size so wanted to try the size below)
I did get the slubby linen dress and cord trousers - will report back.
I am considering the puff sleeve gingham dress - I imagine that like the top @ScottishMouse it is one that can either be hit or miss
I did try the indigo swing dress but I found the shape too kaftan like for me.

Snowyowl78 · 20/03/2022 09:20

I think the Kindred scarf is made from this!

Toasties - Springing on ...
dudsville · 20/03/2022 09:53

That's pretty. I haven't seen it before, is it new @Snowyowl78?

Snowyowl78 · 20/03/2022 10:43

Looks like it’s old from 2020, it’s one of the PJ shirts.

ScottishMouse · 20/03/2022 12:47

Yes, @TheChattyRat, I think the dress would look equally ridiculous on me. But it looks great on others. Sometimes it is so hard to tell what will work and what won’t.
Think I am going to keep the jacket @applecatchers36. Here’s a photo in bad light.

applecatchers36 · 20/03/2022 12:55

That looks really good on you Scottishmouse can see why you are keeping it
