Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????
@Retisestress my son is very outgoing and flamboyant. He’d prob love it tbh. His partner wouldn’t notice if the whole bridal party turned up dressed in bin bags 🤣
There's your answer then - wear it 😘 it really doesn't matter what we think, it matters what the happy couple think ❤

Zebracat · 10/02/2022 21:17

Oops missed your update. I’m sure it will be glorious whatever you wear!

Hadjab · 10/02/2022 21:18

Wear it!

MAKEMYDREAMSCOMETRUE · 10/02/2022 21:20

No no no!

NEUserNamesNotTakenJeez · 10/02/2022 21:20

I actually don't mind the dresses, prefer the cream though and wouldn't even think it's an issue if my own mother wore it at my wedding 🤣 I'd just suggest asking your son, he'll soon tell you and if he does freak about it, tell him you were just trolling him 🤣

AreWeThereYetMummy · 10/02/2022 21:21

Do it! I love it

I absolutely love this one!! Please wear it, it’s absolutely fabulous and I can’t imagine there are too many occasions you’d be able to get away with something so amazing!!!

I love a thread with a satisfactory conclusion! Enjoy the wedding @Kenworthington

Googlecanthelpme · 10/02/2022 21:27

It’s a stunning dress OP and I actually think I prefer the floral. Not just bc it’s a bit less “bridal” but bc it’s so unique and just so pretty.

Only you know if a statement dress would be appropriate for your sons wedding bc you’re the only person who knows the grooms!

I remember seeing a wedding feature in a mag a few years ago where they got married in a city registry office, no decorations, no bridesmaids etc, groom just wore a casual style suit but the bride wore a VERY elaborate long trained satin wedding dress.
Which was totally different to the vibe of the wedding itself but she said she loved it so much that she couldn’t let it pass.

Ok you’re not the bride but if you love it and it makes sense to you for this occasion then do it!

Candleabra · 10/02/2022 21:29

God I love that dress. I like it most in cream!
Be fabulous, you only live once.

LorelaiDeservedBetter · 10/02/2022 21:29

I think you can wear the floral one but I also think you should try the Westwood. I have a Westwood dress and it is so comfortable, has lasted for years and still looks as good as the day I bought it. Congrats on your DS' wedding!

Theblacksheepandme · 10/02/2022 21:30

Do you like this style OP?

Googlecanthelpme · 10/02/2022 21:30

@Kenworthington

Fuck it. I’m going to order it . In the floral. Eeeeek. I will look like a frilly toilet roll cover with some weird mummy/son issues. And I will be FABULOUS doing so
Yasssss OP. You sound amazing and fun and so does your son. Congratulations all round!
RomComPhooey · 10/02/2022 21:30

@harriethoyle

Oh God - it looks like a toilet roll dolly from the top of the loo!
You beat me to it.
BrimfulOfBaba · 10/02/2022 21:31

I love your taste!! Glad your son approves. You will look fab.

Colinthedaxi · 10/02/2022 21:32

Pretty much just here to hopefully get a reminder when you post a photo of you in it! I love it and think you will look amazing.

Onthedunes · 10/02/2022 21:32

I like it, prefer the cream one, order both send one back.

Does it come with matching bag?

Ankle length would be good but if you are tall it may be a good length.

What sandals op are you thinking?

I completely understand, some people are more structured and some people are more Stevie Nicks, if you are comfortable and your son likes it, go for it.

Nice litle cream/white Givenchy Pandora cube bag would look nice with it.

BobbyeinArkansas · 10/02/2022 21:32

I’m late to the thread but I absolutely love it. And if your son loves it too then why not.
Hope he has an amazing day, and you too.

Chaiandkaafee · 10/02/2022 21:32

No.

Shoemadlady · 10/02/2022 21:32

Lovely dresses but remember that it's not your day. All attention should be on your son and his partner and it won't be if you wear that.
That may make them feel a bit upset and it's THEIR special day

NotAnotherUserNumber · 10/02/2022 21:33

I think it looks great and Needle and Thread dresses are always very flattering. However definitely in the floral or red and not the more bridal colours.

How about this one if you look nice in a plunging v neck:

Cailin66 · 10/02/2022 21:35

I say go for it. Just double check with the groom.

NadjaofAntipaxos · 10/02/2022 21:35

Love these! Mourning the loss of the Westwood.
Have you seen Zimmermann? Lots of stuff but some examples here:

OystercatchersPaddling · 10/02/2022 21:36

I love them - but I don’t think cream for a wedding, even when there isn’t a bride. The flower one is beautiful - if you aren’t sure, why don’t you ask your son? Although I can’t see why you need to check, guests don’t usually run outfits by the brides/grooms?
