Kenworthington · 10/02/2022 20:15

Before you all say don’t be ridiculous, you’ll look like the bride- there is no bride- it’s a gay wedding. I love this. lOVE it. Could get the floral one but of COURSE I want the cream one. Can I???????

Sorry, my immediate thought was not "pile of swans" but "dead duck". It's truly and genuinely awful, but hey, whatever makes you happy, eh.
If you think you look good, then wear it and enjoy. It's of no concern to you what others think and the amusement it will create.

inheritancetrack · 11/02/2022 19:52

Way too much for anyone but the bride.

Staffy1 · 11/02/2022 19:52

No, far too bridey, even if there isn’t a bride.

Poppins2016 · 11/02/2022 19:53

@Kenworthington I think 'ask your son/DIL(?!)' has become the new 'cancel the cheque'!

...just a general observation (not just this thread), it amazes me how many people don't even scan read all the OPs posts, especially with the the 'see all' feature!

Insanelysilver · 11/02/2022 19:56

Omg ! No!!! You’ll look like you’re marrying your son!
You’d steal the limelight from your DIL to be. I’d not be surprised if she never spoke to you again if you wore that! It’s would be entirely suitable for a wedding dress. You need a nice smart dress and a hit or facinator and dress appropriately for the role you are cast in, MOTG !

C8H10N4O2 · 11/02/2022 19:56

I love the Vivienne Westwood. Can you have both? Grin Westwood in the day and ruffles for dancing in the evening?

LookItsMeAgain · 11/02/2022 19:57

@YukoandHiro

No way OP, I'm sorry. That's far too much. Don't do something that could very likely upset or irritate your new DIL on her wedding day; it's just unfair
There won't be a new DiL on the wedding day as the OP said....IN HER FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the love of GOD - read the Opening POST.

@LookItsMeAgain ASTONISHING!

woohoo54 · 11/02/2022 19:59

No you'll look like a wannabe bride. Maybe to another event but not a wedding

Josette77 · 11/02/2022 20:00

I love it!!! It is fabulous!! Ignore the others. I love that there is nothing basic about this. You will look fabulous!!!

Are you for real?

Well given there isn't going to be a bride at this wedding the OP should be fine!
midsomermurderess · 11/02/2022 20:02

@SmoggieC

Delete thread if you're upset at replies still happening Hmm
It's not that OP doesn't like the replies, it is the relentless stupidity of people not reading and understanding where the thread is at. Why do so many people struggle with this? Actually, I know. The important thing, to the exclusion of everything is 'I think...'.
SparklyShoesandTutus · 11/02/2022 20:02

It's fab. You'll get such mixed responses on here. Ask your son if he is happy go for it

StargazerAli · 11/02/2022 20:03

I think the darker pink would be fine, if it's your colour, but anything paler may be to bridal. Ask the grooms what they think.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/02/2022 20:05

FGS. It's 24 hours since OP started this and there are 566 messages! Why are people still replying to one or two of the words in the OP and ignoring all the updates/decision? Is it deliberate as a wind up, or are people really that thick?

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 20:06

You know what.. I think I’ll ask my son and see how he feels about it. I don’t want my dil to be to be upset with me

LOLLLZ innit 🤣

Catswhisky · 11/02/2022 20:07

[quote NotAnotherUserNumber]I think it looks great and Needle and Thread dresses are always very flattering. However definitely in the floral or red and not the more bridal colours.

How about this one if you look nice in a plunging v neck:

If you decide it’s not right on you when it arrives look at this one NotAnother found.

Mischance · 11/02/2022 20:07

@harriethoyle

Oh God - it looks like a toilet roll dolly from the top of the loo!
Indeed so!

Er .... um ..... if you are old enough to be mother of the groom, do you not think this might be .....ducks below parapet ..... a bit young for you?

Personally I think it is ghastly, but it's not me who would be wearing it. Grin

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 20:08

Dh thinks you are all winding me up for fun (but he bases this on his favourite pastime so 🤷🏼‍♀️)

RussianSpy101 · 11/02/2022 20:09

@Mischance she could be 40 with a 20 year old son?

Kenworthington · 11/02/2022 20:09

Erm no no I don’t think that no thank you @Mischance I am very youthful and in my prime I’ll have you know!
