I hadn't realized the lampshade came in pink and am quite upset.

We can't be going onto grumpy threads and defending hideous middle class clothes if they're going to come out with pink lampshade hats
@lordloveadog - I will keep my fingers crossed for them all being a success! You could accessorise the tweed jacket with a pipe for the full effect if it fits! Smile

@NoCureForLove - that's rubbish about the Kin order. Perhaps you could take a look at Ninety Percent? They had some lovely things (and I got 10% discount for my first order). Kin are so hit and miss. I also ordered a denim jacket and it went straight back - made me look like an unsuccessful country and western singer
ha ha ha...no a ribbon won't. Just trying to be kind in case others like it Grin

@lordloveadog

This summer I styled a beautiful toast nightie by getting up, straightening it out, brushing my hair and teeth, putting on my sunglasses and sandals and going out to walk the dog and buy rolls looking like I was already sporting a rather fancy summer dress before breakfast. Never felt like I was winning at life like I did on those mornings.
You and me together, we could nail that nightwear/loungewear styling conversation!

Is this the hat in pink? These pics are worse. Sorry!

Smaug, I feel we could.

The nightie-walked dog is a particularly elegant whippet-cross, which I think important. If you styled with a scruffy mutt, you'd definitely risk it being obvious that you'd slept in your clothes.

They don't have enough dogs in those styling videos.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout- you've inspired me to buy a couple of the Brora sale scarves now. One for me (silk tie) and one as part of a friend's birthday present (liberty print chiffon).

Lampshade hat 😂

NoCureForLove · 03/02/2022 21:35

Yes! But in rl it had actual ribbons to tie under your chin! 《《Shudders》》

ScottishMouse · 03/02/2022 21:37

Having decided it is far too early to be thinking about linen shorts and lampshade hats, I would really like to buy another Toast sweater to see me through what is likely to still be months of winter in Scotland. But there is very little left after the sale, and I am not all that excited by the new knits (I tried the seamless neat one and the shape was all wrong for me). Can anyone recommend me a sweater that’s still in stock?

ScottishMouse · 03/02/2022 21:37

Not a cardigan, I should have added.
Thanks!

NoCureForLove · 03/02/2022 21:42

I have this. It's v nice. Neat. Warm but light.

ha ha ha ha... [shudders] indeed!
Countmeout · 04/02/2022 08:31

I sure Laura Ingalls had ribbons on her bonnet.

@ScottishMouse I like the alpaca yoke sweater , the cotton linen easy sweater and the lofty wool cashmere sweater. Have you tried those. I don’t have any of these ones though. . I only buy sweaters in sale so any I have are long gone. So that’s no help whatsoever.

BigDayToday · 04/02/2022 08:51

That hat reminds me of and episode of Dad's Army I watched recently. Mrs Mainwaring made lampshades that are so weird they end up being sold as silly hats for the kids. Maybe the Toast designers saw it too...

(Hope it's ok to join you. I've not posted here much but do follow the thread sometimes - wasn't tempted by the sale so nothing much to say recently.)

I have recently bought a gorgeous Toast cardigan which makes me look like a bumblebee but the size is wrong so I'm now desperately searching for a smaller one. I love buying secondhand but this is the frustrating side of it - no easy shop exchanges but months of haunting eBay until I find the size I want!

ScottishMouse · 04/02/2022 09:02

Thanks @NoCureForLove and @Countmeout for the jumper tips. I hadn’t noticed the lofty cashmere wool one, it looks lovely though the colour might drain me. I do like the alpaca yoke one but no size smalls left, does anyone know if it is massive? I love the neat cashmere wool ones, and have a very old one, but I wear that as an underneath layer in this weather. It is so cold here this morning. I do wish they would do more winter stuff through Jan/Feb, rather than introducing linen and shorts already.

Saurus72 · 04/02/2022 12:48

I just had a postcard ‘welcoming me to Kindred’ Hmm. Nice to know I’m still on the list I guess!

faustina · 04/02/2022 13:02

I did too Saurus! Maybe it's our renewal thing?

Saurus72 · 04/02/2022 13:15

I did make sure to subscribe to emails again - I very much hope to get a ‘unique Kindred gift’ very soon 😊

TempleofZooom · 04/02/2022 13:32

I got one as well.
Does this mean its been given to me free or are they "inviting" Hmmme to pay for it?

faustina · 04/02/2022 13:45

@TempleofZooom - it's free!

TempleofZooom · 04/02/2022 13:49

Oooh fab!
Thanks

Welcome to the thread. Was that the lovely ochre cardigan with the stripes? Yes, buying second hand with toast is very frustrating!
ToastCosILoveIt · 04/02/2022 16:35

No Kindred postcard for me yet...

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/02/2022 16:35

Welcome @BigDayToday.

Laska2Meryls · 04/02/2022 16:39

I haven't had a post card yet , but have just checked my account and my Kindred post pass has been renewed until 2023 Smile
