What to wear on my legs because I just don't know anymore

I'm a sahm, my dc are all at school during the day.

I NEED to get out of these leggings. It's just not doing anything for me anymore.

Since skinny jeans have gone and died, (and let's be honest they were not comfy anyway), what's everyone wearing on their legs ?? I'm so flippin stuck! I do sometimes wear jeans but I find them abit uncomfortable around the house.

I'm not a huge fan of joggers, it's just not how I dress.

I need something comfy but stylish that I can wear in and out of the house. It this piece of clothing exists and you've seen it, please do share Grin

I have a couple of pairs of cropped wide leg pull on trousers that are ver flattering. I'll see if I can find something similar to show you.

Merftastic · 17/01/2022 16:00

I'm glad you've asked this as I've been searching for something other than jeans and don't really know what I'm looking for. Hopefully someone can help!

3beesinmybonnet · 17/01/2022 16:12

How about bootcut trousers with some stretch in the fabric? I have a pair from Matalan that fit well but I can pull them up and down without unfastening them. I'm also pear shaped not straight up and down. They're very comfy.

slaybellsringing · 17/01/2022 16:13

Ah yes I forgot to add that I have a substantial bottom and hips 🤦🏻‍♀️
Bootcut wouldn't be a style I'd wear unfortunately. The wide legged cropped pants sound nice.

Does it help if I say I only take my joggers off to go out? Back from school and off come the skinny jeans, on go the joggers!

I wear skirts over leggings and find them comfy round the house.

MrsPear · 17/01/2022 16:32

Does it have to be trousers?

dudsville · 17/01/2022 16:32

Wide leg cropped are my go to. Could be denim or wool or anything that's a natural fabric.

Phyllis321 · 17/01/2022 16:32

Straight leg, unstructured trousers in soft fabrics seem to be very popular here (big uni town). They look much more stylish to me than skinnies and leggings.

LBear04 · 17/01/2022 16:35

I wear Next - Jeggings but they still have zips and pockets and look like real jeans but have so much stretch and v.comfy

You can get casual jumpsuits, pllisse trousers etc.

Xxx

myfacelookslikeatoe · 17/01/2022 16:35

Maybe have to try before buying but I’m a fan of some wide leg trousers, they can look elegant or you can dress them down. Also sort of those long pencil skirts but not mega tight with boots? They look nice with things like converse too.

cheapskatemum · 17/01/2022 17:00

Since you don't say it has to be trousers, how about a skirt & thick tights? I like straight skirts length a couple of inches above the knee, with a belt at the waist.

nordica · 17/01/2022 17:04

I mostly wear comfortable/casual skirts with opaque tights. Either jersey/ponte/sweatshirt type fabric ones or denim skirts.

ThatDreamSheep · 17/01/2022 17:06

I love M&S jeggings, come in loads of different colours and really reasonably priced as well

Mackmama · 17/01/2022 17:08

Italian magic trousers (Google them) they’re really comfy and look nice, I wear mine rolled up with hi-tops for weekends or rolled down with chunky loafers for work.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/01/2022 17:08

I've reverted to joggers if I'm not going anywhere and (bamboo) leggings if I am. Jeans are the least comfortable clothing on the planet!

Cropped styles look odd on me, as I have really long legs, so it has a habit of looking accidental! 🤣🤣

Bonheurdupasse · 17/01/2022 17:10

Probably more formal than what you're looking OP for but has anyone noticed there's no (barely any!) skirts for sale?Angry
Sorry to derail

itwasntaparty · 17/01/2022 17:10

I'm in skirts / dresses and tights at the moment with boots. I can't be arsed with the jean finding situation, I've ordered so many pairs and sent them all back.

What kind of skirts are you looking for? My current favourites are from People Tree, M&S, Aesthetic Laundry and this denim skirt from Joanie Clothing: joanieclothing.com/sarah-scallop-a-line-denim-skirt-blue.html
Coffeepot72 · 17/01/2022 17:15

I tend to wear jersey dresses with opaque tights, very comfy, more stylish than leggings and I can go out of the house without getting changed!

nixso29 · 17/01/2022 17:21

Opaque black tights and a smock type mini dress is my go to- so much more comfortable than jeans!

Bebabelouba · 17/01/2022 17:25

For all those saying wide leg trousers, what do you wear on your feet?
Summer is easy but winter less so I think...

Imtoooldforallthis · 17/01/2022 17:28

I wear boots with with cropped trousers, current work type lace up boots.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 17/01/2022 17:32

Joggers for me in and out the house.

WellTidy · 17/01/2022 17:38

Is this the kind of thing you’re after S&P apartment pant? I’ve been looking at these and thinking they may be the answer to everything. Can wear with trainers and jumpers/sweatshirts. I’d be interested to hear if anyone has tried them (or something similar).
