What to wear on my legs because I just don't know anymore

I'm a sahm, my dc are all at school during the day.

I NEED to get out of these leggings. It's just not doing anything for me anymore.

Since skinny jeans have gone and died, (and let's be honest they were not comfy anyway), what's everyone wearing on their legs ?? I'm so flippin stuck! I do sometimes wear jeans but I find them abit uncomfortable around the house.

I'm not a huge fan of joggers, it's just not how I dress.

I need something comfy but stylish that I can wear in and out of the house. It this piece of clothing exists and you've seen it, please do share Grin

@AnyBenny

I keep getting these popping up on my various feeds - they look nice but £££ Shock. Anyone got any experience of them?
Yes they are fab, one of the styles (victory maybe) is not too wide and floppy! I love mine, I don’t love jeans and leggings are not always flattering or appropriate - these fit the bill!

I've lived in Uniqlo heattech ultra warm leggings the past 2 years.

They look smarter than jeans and leggings but are so comfortable, flattering and warm. They work well working from home as I feel a bit smarter but I can easily throw on a jumper or hoodie with them and walk the dog at lunchtime or do some pilates/stretches without getting changed. And then they are comfortable for sitting around in during the evening. I have loads of pairs in black. I wear them with boots or trainers.

@Lastater

Can anyone recommend really comfy tights to wear with skirts please. I hate the feeling of regular tights. Would wool be better do you think? Off to Google Italian magic trousers!
M&S do nice thermal tights which feel almost like leggings and are really comfy. I went a size up so they didn't sag in the crotch.
WeirdlyKind · 25/01/2022 01:50

Snag tights are great, but on the expensive side. They're actually different sizes unlike most normal tights!

Lastater · 25/01/2022 07:09

Thanks @33goingon64 I'll check them out.

Those trousers look great @bookmarket

GettingStuffed · 25/01/2022 10:56

I have had pairs of these for years as they're my go to trousers, they dress up as well as being great for casual www.peacocks.co.uk/4800340-black_plain.html

JanisMoplin · 25/01/2022 11:39

Was going to buy Saint and Sofia, but saw they don't have grey in my size, so bought these great M and S trousers instead. Look smart and of thickish material which hangs well, but super comfy. Going to buy another colour. www.marksandspencer.com/jersey-straight-leg-trousers/p/clp60461069?extid=ps_ps-bpla_ggl_ww_ch__-UK-_-_grow&ds_rl=1295953&ds_rl=1295953&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0PaF_OfM9QIVBpftCh0cJQf4EAQYBSABEgJCbfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

AnnieSnap · 25/01/2022 12:53

Bear in mind @JanisMoplin that Saint and Sofia have an awful reputation for customer service, in particular returns! That puts me off buying from them!

JanisMoplin · 25/01/2022 13:47

Thanks @AnnieSnap that's good to know. Their trousers look so good though.

The other thing I wear on my legs which are comfy and look slightly better than joggers are cord leggings. Mine are from M and Co, but I think M and S may have some.

WingingItSince1973 · 26/01/2022 11:57

I love my harem trousers I bought from next a few years ago. Not the massive balloon ones. Also with dresses or skirts I like to wear footless tights. For some reason proper tights make me feel claustrophobic. I just pop a pair of short socks on if wearing boots or trainer liners x

WingingItSince1973 · 26/01/2022 13:35

Also if I'm wearing a long dress I wear knee length socks so even less clingy than tights x

Ozanj · 26/01/2022 13:47

Why does one outfit have to cover you for chilling at home and going out? I think this is wear you’re going wrong - keep the leggings for home if you like them, and choose jeans for going out and about. I have a fat arse and hips too & wear high waisted straight leg jeans (both levis and GAP do lovely ones) for going out because.

Bookmarket · 28/01/2022 08:11

@Lastater

Thanks *@33goingon64* I'll check them out.

Those trousers look great @bookmarket

I'm sure they were a mumsnet recommended best buy a few years back.

I am a M&S leggings fan, with Seasalt tunic and long line cardigan with any type of boots person at the moment. Size 18, 52 years

evilharpy · 29/01/2022 00:46

@Mackmama

Italian magic trousers (Google them) they’re really comfy and look nice, I wear mine rolled up with hi-tops for weekends or rolled down with chunky loafers for work.
I've discovered these quite recently and they are the best and most comfortable thing ever. I don't feel at all stylish in them though but they're so comfy I don't really care.

My two most worn pairs of jeans are a pair of cropped wide leg ones from H&M and a pair of acid wash mum jeans from Asda. Both worn absolutely to death, sometimes with trainers but more often with a pair of black Franka boots from All Saints that I wear with everything.

Coffeepot72 · 29/01/2022 09:35

I know I suggested jersey dresses earlier in the thread. I got a few from Whitestuff but I can’t seem to find any more, any suggestions where I could buy more?

I take your point @Ozanj but like the OP I get fed up of having to get changed just to nip to out?

Just discovered this thread! I work from home and have a dog so want trousers that are comfy, practical for dog walking and can run errands in - whilst feeling relatively stylish! I love Sweaty Betty Gary trousers and especially their Gary Cozy Taper Trousers www.sweatybetty.com/shop/bottoms/trousers/gary-cozy-taper-trousers-SB7074F_UrbanGrey.html

Last summer I lived in their cropped Gary yoga pants www.sweatybetty.com/shop/bottoms/trousers/gary-cropped-yoga-pants-SB867B_Black.html
