What to wear on my legs because I just don't know anymore

I'm a sahm, my dc are all at school during the day.

I NEED to get out of these leggings. It's just not doing anything for me anymore.

Since skinny jeans have gone and died, (and let's be honest they were not comfy anyway), what's everyone wearing on their legs ?? I'm so flippin stuck! I do sometimes wear jeans but I find them abit uncomfortable around the house.

I'm not a huge fan of joggers, it's just not how I dress.

I need something comfy but stylish that I can wear in and out of the house. It this piece of clothing exists and you've seen it, please do share Grin

Saint + Sofia apartment pant - not sure if the link worked.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 17/01/2022 17:44

I still wear skinny jeans

DelphiniumBlue · 17/01/2022 17:45

@WellTidy

Is this the kind of thing you’re after S&P apartment pant? I’ve been looking at these and thinking they may be the answer to everything. Can wear with trainers and jumpers/sweatshirts. I’d be interested to hear if anyone has tried them (or something similar).
I've got these, they are very nice, comfortable, wash well. The only thing is they are actually quite wide-legged on me, and if you are used to skinnies, dealing with longer, floppy hems in wet weather isn't so great..
WellTidy · 17/01/2022 17:56

Thank you! After years of skinnies, I’d forgotten about the hems on longer, looser trousers when it’s wet. I suppose you’d need the length to be absolutely perfect and for the ground to be dry. Or maybe stay indoors Smile

I keep getting these popping up on my various feeds - they look nice but £££ Shock. Anyone got any experience of them?

elbea · 17/01/2022 18:13

I wear a dress everyday, sometimes tights of differing thicknesses depending on the weather. It is 1000x easier that coming up with an outfit and more comfortable.

CaMePlaitPas · 17/01/2022 18:28

I've got to bin my jeans, and especially these high waisted Mom jeans, which I thought were a game changer but I caught myself in the mirror and I look like Humpty Dumpty's frumpy Aunt.

WeirdlyKind · 17/01/2022 18:31

Land's End starfish trousers are super comfortable and reasonably smart too!

Isn’t ‘apartment pant’ an old joke from Friends?!

Aria999 · 17/01/2022 18:59

At the moment I am rotating round 3 pairs of these in different colors

I wear dresses including knitted ones, jersey or soft fabrics and opaque tights in winter. I also like coated jeans and faux leather leggings.

Aria999 · 17/01/2022 19:00

(Though I did have to hem them 3 inches)

Jemimapuddleduk · 17/01/2022 19:12

Sweater dresses with tights, midi denim skirt with tights, midi button down denim pinafore with tights, boden girlfriend jeans rolled up with boots, jersey ruched tube skirt with tights, midi dresses (fatface). I also wear joggers (scamp and dude) or sweaty Betty leggings with hoodie.

DeepestDarkestRiver · 17/01/2022 19:16

@DelphiniumBlue, 100% correct. I have these, too, and they are very comfortable, but wider in the leg than they appear in the pic. I wear them for WFH, but wouldn't actually wear them to the office.

TheHuntingoftheSnark · 17/01/2022 19:22

Knitted or jersey dresses with tights or leggings. Dungarees when its really cold.
In summer printed tapered draw string trousers and a cotton loose top

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 17/01/2022 19:36

These are very comfy and look good rolled up with boots, loafers or trainers.

I've been wearing dresses and thick tights to WFH. Much more comfortable. Usually a jumper dress , cord dress or flannel shirt dress. Lovely and warm.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 17/01/2022 19:51

I have suggestions! I'm a pear shape and all is not lost with jeans.

Marks and Spencer Indigo boyfriend jeans-roll them up and wear with a belt. I think these work with combat leather boots, high tops.

Marks and Spencer mom jeans- I bought the longer length and do a french tuck on the bottom. Work best with a wide white trainer or block heel boot.

Boden girlfriend jeans - these are my new skinnies. Very flattering and comfy. Good with chunky trainers, they also fit under a short biker type boot. Boden also do a slim skinny which I think would be flattering in black.

I think a cropped flare could be quite flattering. Also sailor style jeans. Wide leg jeans with a flatform trainer.

Cashmere leggings. Game changer.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 17/01/2022 20:11

Jeggings! Look smarter than leggings, but if you get a really elastic type, just as comfy
