@AFingerofFudge bless you, thanks for your intrepid reporting from the frontline 😉

That green dress looks really lovely on you but yes, £215 eeekk!

Actually v good news about the slate pinafore - I have very decisive bumps and so it sounds like it wouldn’t be right for me at all. I like a definite outcome, and definitely when it saves me money!

Saurus72 · 17/01/2022 13:11

@faustina I saw that skirt IRL in a shop before Christmas, I was really surprised about the fabric tbh. I did regret not trying it on because I think it’s something that would either look fantastic (@Stoic123 I think you have it and love it iirc?)or really not. The colour is absolutely beautiful, and I can see it going with loads of things. May pounce if it turns up in another sale.

dollywouldnt · 17/01/2022 13:47

someone up thread recommended the patchwork scarf which they bought in the sale and I just want to say thank you because I ordered it on the strength of your post and it arrived today and I love it!

AFingerofFudge · 17/01/2022 14:28

Absolutely useless customer service at toast when I rang them about my indigo denim dress missing the belt. The girl that answered put me on hold for about 10 minutes. In my naivete I thought she had gone off to check the shelves (ha!) when in fact when she came back she said they were trying to ascertain whether or not it had ever come with a belt. I told her to look at the website or look at my order the first photo clearly shows the belt but she said that she didn't have access to any photos?!
So then I might I advised her to look on Google but she said she couldn't work out which one it was, so they are going to get back to me !!!

faustina · 17/01/2022 14:43

@Saurus72 - it was a spectacular colour - and beautifully matte too

lots of new stuff in the sale now!

Laska2Meryls · 17/01/2022 16:11

wWell thats my last sale orders all going back!
Rae jumper in pear from JL.. fabulous colour and fabric but just too short for me.. sad about this .. JL was half the toast price..

and the oil gathered skirt ( again !) from Toast.. this was a 12 (id ordered the 14 from JL previously ) but is still far too big all over and really needed to be a good 6inches shorter to be mid calf on me ( I am 5'6) ..and so creased and so like others I most likely would have thought twice about keeping it anyway ...

Stoic123 · 17/01/2022 17:23

@Saurus72- yes, I Iike the oil skirt. I bought it to wear with the Harvest arran jumper (website copycat) and they do look gorgeous together. I find the Harvest jumper can be a bit tricky to pair (Ashley Green jeans work well too) so was probably trying to bring the arran's cost-per-wear down a bit! I paid full price for my skirt and, in hindsight, probably not worth that much - but would have def bought at sale price. If anyone else has the jumper - pairing recommdations would be very welcome!

@faustina- the red bandana arrived this morning and I've been wearing since . It is just lush. Thanks for the push!

Stoic123 · 17/01/2022 17:25

*recommendations.

faustina · 17/01/2022 17:28

@Stoic123 - very pleased it worked for you!

dudsville · 17/01/2022 18:37

Does anyone have these tees? The neckline is odd, awfully high. I do prefer to cover my décolleté, what's it called? But they are high. I wondered how others got on with them. They are cute tucked into the trousers in the pic.

dudsville · 17/01/2022 18:39

Decolletage? My phone isn't happy with that!

I have them and really like them. Quite thick and they are high but so soft I don’t find them annoying.
faustina · 17/01/2022 18:45

They were very very soft, and lovely colours, but I returned as I knew I would spend my life pulling the neck down

dudsville · 17/01/2022 18:49

Hm 50/50.

ScottishMouse · 17/01/2022 18:54

I bought the new striped shirt in pecan after seeing it at the weekend. But having had a look in my wardrobe, the colour isn’t going to work with many things. Hmmmm…I like purchases to work with lots to make them worthwhile, but I also really like the shirt. Convince me not to return it people! What would you style it with?

Countmeout · 17/01/2022 18:55

Thank you @AFingerofFudge. The colour is magnificent. One to watch for in sale. Very envious of you being able to go to a real shop and have a try on too.
Yes isn’t it a shame about the Rae sweater @Laska2Meryls. Far too short, it was very disappointing.

FiddleFigs · 17/01/2022 19:14

I’ve got the striped tee in pomegranate too, and really like it, despite it being higher in the neckline than I usually go for. Lovely soft and thick fabric.

faustina · 17/01/2022 19:32

@ScottishMouse - I'd wear with denim, navy, black, beige? That instagrammer - Kat something - I think she bought it at the weekend too. Do you follow her?

Laska2Meryls · 17/01/2022 19:37

I sent back the striped tee in pomegranate earlier in the season as didn't really like the contrast , but bought the blue slate one in the sale and have kept it

faustina · 17/01/2022 19:39

wearsitatkat!

ScottishMouse · 17/01/2022 19:50

Yes I saw that she had it @faustina. I like her style a lot so that has added to me thinking of keeping it. I feel like it needs a little prettying up, if you know what I mean. It is quite utilitarian, so it needs a wee something, but I’m not sure what.

dudsville · 17/01/2022 19:55

I might keep them. I'm small busted and I think that helps some...I like the colours a lot. I will try them on again in the morning.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/01/2022 20:40

I have them both. I've worn them loads. The neck is higher but not bothersome on me.
TerrierOrTerror · 17/01/2022 22:28

I have the Pomegranate and Sand top on the way, didn't notice the neckline though so not sure now!

dudsville · 18/01/2022 07:26

They're very soft, so there's no awkward pressure. I'll decide later. I didn't know that bracelet length is a long version of 3/4 length, but that's OK as I do like 3/4.

And the trousers are a perfect fit, only the pockets don't feel like true toast pockets, they're not as generous and don't feel as sturdy, but they will be good for summer so I'll do a second try on but I think I'm keeping them.
