As last year, I suggest we use this as a general beauty advent calendar thread for everyone with beauty calendars that may not be covered by other threads or who prefers a general thread. I’m opening FM, Harrods and M&S this year, and will aim to post on both this and the M&S threads.

Please can no-one post any spoilers before 7am on the relevant day.

Just over a week to go. I’m really looking forward to it!

Welcome to the new posters. Lovely to read about your calendars. @SapphireSeptember, I like sparkly eyeshadows but yes, that one may be too shiny even for me!

Day 3 is about moisturisers, mostly:

3Labs WW cream. FM calendar, and a repeat from last year. But I really really like using it, and it’s ££££ so would never buy normally, so very happy.

111Skin Vitamin C serum. Harrods calendar. I’ve tried this before too (was in last year’s NAP calendar). It’s fine and will get used (but do prefer the Femme Lumiere Vital C I use normally)

L’occitane Precious Cream M&S 2021 calendar. I’ve used and really liked the Divine cream before, but not tried this one. Looking forward to doing so.

Prai neck cream M&S 2018. Very pretty and sparkly container for this, which I do use often. But not very exciting. So 2021 wins Day 3 too!

There is fancy Shower Gel in the Rituals village this morning, I will try it out this morning. Delighted to have something I can use on myself Xmas Smile
Todays Museli is gingerbread and bitter chocolate ... I think I might have it for lunch as its freezing here this morning and I want my porridge after two mornings of chocolate-y museli Xmas Blush
@festivefuschias - the facial scrub sounds lovely. The balm sounds a bit odd. Why would you need a brown balm?

@FaoinDrualus - more chocolate for you. Sounds yummy
The DrPawPaw one is a lovely shade, DD has the ASOS one

ApolloandDaphne · 03/12/2021 08:23

I got this bi-phasic bath oil (I have shaken it) in my Rituals calendar. It is in my favourite scent but I don't have baths! I tried rubbing some into my hands and it sank in beautifully so I might use it as a body oil after my shower.

Bom Dia Body cream and teeny tiny L'Occitane face cream.

I haven't tried the Bom Dia before but have tried their Bum Bum which I really liked so I'm looking forward to this. I've used the L'Occitane before and it's is lovely but won't last very long.

I'm chuffed with the Rituals bath oil, the scent is lovely. DD will probably get there first, though, she was eyeing it for her bath tonight!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 03/12/2021 08:59
@OchonAgusOchonOh Perfect! Grin Okay, done. Just had to get my tablet out to take pics, and remembered how much I hate touch screens!
They're lovely. The red would be too bright on me but I like to imagine myself, all glam, wearing colours like that.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 03/12/2021 09:00
@Babysharkdoodoodood I love the sound of mask stick!
I know. It's a brilliant idea.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 03/12/2021 09:01

@SapphireSeptember

That eyeshadow though. 🥰 Tempted to use it as a highlighter, it's sooo shiny.

@felulageller That's quite a collection of advent calendars! Shock I am impressed. Grin

Would you use it as an eyeliner? That's what I do with shiny eye shadows.
OchonAgusOchonOh · 03/12/2021 09:03

@MiaN

Two good items today, can't wait to try the lipstick from cult beauty. The rituals items will go to my son, we share that calendar so I am not going to get everything form it. Good size, the scent is a lot like viktor and rolf spicebomb. I like it, it's very unisex in my opinion and would happily use it for myself!
That lipstick was one of the items that was tempting me to buy cult beauty when I was trying to decide on a calendar.

So that's 3 - Nil to 2021 so far. I must admit, I really don't understand the need for a next cream. Surely normal moisturiser will do the same job?
AprilLady · 03/12/2021 09:09

@OchonAgusOchonOh, I agree. I find the only real benefit of a neck cream is that is reminds me to moisturise my neck, which I do otherwise sometimes forget.

Agree the VBB cult beauty lipstick looks good.

And I love a bath oil, so the Rituals item looks excellent too!

They all sound like dessert so far rather than breakfast. Delicious sounding mind.

I forgot to post yesterday but am thoroughly enjoying reading through everyone's posts

Yesterday - JL the rose scrub and Boots No 7 a vit c cleanser and mustard from degusta which was bizarre as only the day before I was saying to DD I need to get a sweeter mustard than the Dijon Maille one I was using for my cold cuts and as if by magic.

Today in JL a lovely taupe eyeshadow stick and in No 7 a blusher which is a nice generic pink DD and I could both use

I'm intrigued by the Sephora AC as we can't get that in the UK and DD loved Sephora when she went into one a couple of years ago on holiday. the roll on face mask looks very novel

As well as the moisturiser from M&S, a passion fruit and mango juice from degusto box and apple and cinnamon popcorn from Joe & Seph.

Loving the M&S offerings so far, I had Liberty last year and while it was nice it wasn’t an extra £250 better in my opinion. Maybe my expectations were too high but very few of the products were on my rebuy list and I got unreasonably irate at the QMS lip serumGrin

ferretface · 03/12/2021 11:24

Eye mask from Glossybox (meh) and Illamasqua setting spray from LF which is very useful.

ferretface · 03/12/2021 11:26

@OchonAgusOchonOh i've had that prai neck cream in something else, either a beauty box or a GWP. I like it but mainly cos i enjoy the smell!

Babysharkdoodoodood · 03/12/2021 11:33

Rituals serendipity and hair clip from Sephora

I've already got the full size from Rituals. One of my favourites

@AprilLady I love sparkly things, I don't feel right unless my highlighter can be seen from space! Grin I blame John Maclean...

@OchonAgusOchonOh Thank you! Smile I must have loads of red lipsticks, but another one won't hurt... I like the formula, it's matte but doesn't feel dry.
Also, I'm no good at applying liquid eyeliner, it's something I've never got the hang of, even the felt tip pens, so no. It'd be perfect for popping on the centre of my eyelids though. (I favour the 'halo' look, anything more complicated than that is reserved for special occasions or if I really want to. Grin )

@FaoinDrualus A muisli advent calendar? Shock That sounds yummy! I did a tea one last year, which was nice, and I have a chocolate one from Hotel Chocolat, but the chocolate gets scoffed as soon as I open it. Grin

I've got this bad boy on the way too! I tried to talk myself out of it, but ordered it on payday (in the brief window where I could get it delivered, as now it's collect in store only, like it was last week. I found one in Oxford and was contemplating getting one of my brothers to pick it up for me, as they live there, but I live near Cambridge!)

afaloren · 03/12/2021 12:11

I love the Victoria Beckham lipstick in my CB this morning. Lovely colour and nice slim packaging. I’ve not tried anything from her brand so if I ever leave the house again I’ll wear it Grin
