General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread

As last year, I suggest we use this as a general beauty advent calendar thread for everyone with beauty calendars that may not be covered by other threads or who prefers a general thread. I’m opening FM, Harrods and M&S this year, and will aim to post on both this and the M&S threads.

Please can no-one post any spoilers before 7am on the relevant day.

Just over a week to go. I’m really looking forward to it!

Couldn’t help myself, that thread really wound me up so I did post a defence on it.

It has very mean spirited title. How people speak about others is reflection on them, not the person they are speaking about. For years women had to organize everything for everyone for Christmas - presents, meals out, the house, guest they like and they don't like, Santa. Only recent years there are more things targeted to women, to sample some beauty products and have few moments of joy during December. Don't like them - good for you, but why first go around read the forums on the topic, and second make such mean spirited post that can clearly upset

What kind of grown woman does that?

Cath Kidston body scrub, I need hand cream so I'm hoping for this tomorrow.

Kiehls had a serum, so I will try it tomorrow!

Nice shower gel from M&S which I'll use as a bath product, sorry @MrsMcCluskeysCat it was a very heavy jar of mustard so I doubt it's slipped anywhere in the degustabox day 2 and double chocolate popcorn. Which may or may not have been inhaled as I cooked dinner

I'll also enjoy the M&S shower gel offering today.

A bit disappointed with the Fenwick offering, though, a Clinique foaming cleanser ... yawn ... Clinique is overrated and over priced imho.

Brow gel in the Lacura calendar. Meh, not so bothered about this. My brows are not flyaway so I think this will make its way to SIL

I'm pleased with the shower gel from M&S and it's going in the box of things to be split between the DDs stockings. I think either of them would like it.

D2 got a pretty crystal textured nail polish in her Barry M cal which she's very happy with.

Have noticed the Bonne Maman cal is only £15.99 on Amazon, so trying to resist. D1 at university loved her Degustabox (she started it straightaway as she breaks up on Friday and it was for her and her household to share during term) I think I'll get one of those next year.

Revolution junkie here. I've got the 'You are the Revolution' advent calendar from their website. The 1st was a bright red lippy called 'Slow' and 2nd was a very sparkly silver liquid eyeshadow called 'Mercury'. I've been dossing around the house the past two days, tomorrow I'll try them out and report back.

That's all I was expecting . I'm with you in hating taking photos of myself. For some reason they always seem to focus on the inside of my nostrils.

Can I join? I've got m&s, soap and glory and the boots macmillan one.

DD has ted baker, no7 and the body shop.

Our favourites so far is the strawberry hand lotion from the body shop and the m&s shower gel (which is the same scent I'm getting in a candle for Xmas). They both smell lovely.

That eyeshadow though. 🥰 Tempted to use it as a highlighter, it's sooo shiny.

Two good items today, can't wait to try the lipstick from cult beauty. The rituals items will go to my son, we share that calendar so I am not going to get everything form it. Good size, the scent is a lot like viktor and rolf spicebomb. I like it, it's very unisex in my opinion and would happily use it for myself!

Tan luxe super glow drops in Feel Unique today, I LOVED these in the LF calendar last year and have repurchased once when I needed to make up a GWP spend but generally I think they are a bit pricey so happy to get some more without paying!

Oh and a yummy looking mango and passion fruit juice in Degustabox

Lumene first three days:
Cleanser, face mask (travel sizes)
Eye cream full size

Happy as will use all of these things. Unfortunately am in the middle of products so it all goes in the stash at the moment.
