This year's thread for chat (and potentially) swaps for the 2021 Holland & Barrett beauty calendar.

No spoilers please! As per last year, can we please use 7am as a cut of point? So, if you are an early bird and open your door before 7am, please don't post until then. At some point during the day, I'll pop a link to that day's product in the thread.

Can't wait to open this one! Last year's was great...reusable earbud notwithstanding...

@IToldYouIWasFreaky I wondered how it would be on dry hair - will definitely give that a try. Putting oil on roots is so counter intuitive to me!!

The idea of putting oil on my roots is making me nervous....
If a brave soul could go ahead and use it and report back that would be much appreciated!

I like the oil, as others not sure how to use it but might try it to tame my frizzy ends!

I’ve been using the oil for a while and don’t understand how it could ever work on roots. It’s lovely on the ends of my hair but any higher up and it looks greasy. I use the tiniest amount, rubbed between my hands before applying and it does give a nice glossy finish.

How does it help your scalp then if you don’t put it in your roots? I’m confused too.

I'm going to try it in the morning, memory and time permitting! I do have a sensitive scalp but I do occasionally use plain oil when shampooing. Will duly report back!

I didn't get a hair oil today! I got a candle. I'm a bit meh about candles because of the fire risk, but it does smell rather nice and relaxing. I wonder if the items have been switched, or if it's a sub?

My eye cream yesterday doesn't pump so not a great start.

The hair oil sounds interesting. I may put a little on my roots overnight tonight and wash in the morning to see what it's all about. Happy to report back.

I'm also following the marks and Spencer thread even though I don't have one and kind of wish I had that one too.

I had this calendar last year and loved it. I had previously had two M&S ones but the H&B had more stuff I would use and buy again. I'm taking the odd sneaky peek at the M&S thread too though, just out of interest!

I loved the eye cream and had no problem with the pump; looks like I was lucky!

I have put some of the hair oil on tonight as I’m washing my hair in the morning anyway. Not really got a clue what I’m supposed to do with it but have put it on my parting line area, typically my hair now looks a bit greasy but it smells amazing, I feel like I’m at a spa!

Hair oil update: I put it on lengths and ends last night (agree it smells amazing!) and washed it out this morning. Hair feels lovely and soft, and clean.
A bit underwhelmed by today's face scrub, used it in the shower and it was nice enough but this is just not something I would ever buy!

How harsh is the scrub? I don't normally use scrubs on my face but might try this one if it's very gentle. It smells nice.

I like the hair oil, I put some on last night and washed it out later in the evening (not keen on oil on my pillow cases), and my hair feels very soft this morning.

Day 3: Sukin Super Greens Facial Scrub 20ml

I've had stuff from this range before and liked it but I've already got a scrub on the go so I'll put this away until I've finished that one.

Thanks for the link, really good reviews and reasonable price too. Left my skin feeling lovely so a potential future purchase.

Forgot to put oil on last night so it is on now and I'll wash later.

I've just tried the scrub and it's quite gentle and fine-grained - I liked it. Also loving the eye cream. Those of you who have tried the oil - I think I'm going to go for DrRamses approach this evening - do you just apply it to dry hair?

I tried putting the oil on my roots last night but I have lots of hair and it's quite porous so it just vanished! I think I'll keep it for finishing dry hair, or possibly adding to my hair when it's wet.

Thanks @IToldYouIWasFreaky sounds like we have similar hair, so I can see that happening to me too.

I just put it on dry hair - smelt lovely but looked greasy, so definitely one for home only! It washed out with no trouble - I was a bit worried about that as I have naturally oily hair and was afraid I'd look as though I'd dipped my head in the chip pan.

Really happy with today's. I love the night cream from this brand last year. I think ill keep the hair oil for holiday abroad as my hair can get dry with the sun so this will be a nice mid holiday treatment.

So frustrating I’m on the third day of using the eye cream from day 1 (which I love) and the pump has packed up. I’ve googled and apparently this is a common issue with this product. I’m not keen on the hair oil so will bequeath this to DD who has drier hair than me. I tend to avoid any oils on the hair to avoid an oil slick situation. I’m hoping for an anti ageing face cream and maybe a scented hand cream at some point in the unboxing. Let’s see.

I have tried the eye cream and love it and used the scrub today which has left my skin feeling very soft. So very happy to date!

I quite liked using the scrub today. The hair oil smells really good.

I just jumped ahead and opened box 5 (as I will be away over the weekend). No spoiler but box 5 seemed to be holding half the other boxes up so I've spent 10 mins reconstructing the calendar. Be warned!

(I should add that design of this year is much more attractive than last year's)
