Holland & Barrett 2021 advent calendar thread

This year's thread for chat (and potentially) swaps for the 2021 Holland & Barrett beauty calendar.

No spoilers please! As per last year, can we please use 7am as a cut of point? So, if you are an early bird and open your door before 7am, please don't post until then. At some point during the day, I'll pop a link to that day's product in the thread.

Can't wait to open this one! Last year's was great...reusable earbud notwithstanding...

It would be helpful if today’s had come with instructions. Not sure what to do with it. Looks cheap compared to some I’ve seen.

I've got one already although mine is rose quartz. I think H&B thinking is you can use yesterday's oil on your face and use the roller to press it into your skin. That's what i use my rose quartz one for. To be fair it's a nice thing to use in the summer if you keep it in the fridge but you can get them for a couple of £ from TK Maxx

Oh and I used yesterdays oil as I had a horrible day and my face was sore and blotchy. Thought it was be nice and calming and I've woke up with sore angry, under the skin spots on my chin. So I'll be keeping that for body and hair!

I don't mind this. I actually already have a larger size one but I am awful at remembering to use it! And it's handy to have a smaller size to get into the contours of my face. And it's pretty!

Thanks for the link @IToldYouIWasFreaky very useful. I am happily rollering my face whilst eating my advent chocolate in bed! I'm hoping I look bloody gorgeous and at least 10 years younger once I've finished. It's actually very relaxing and I can imagine with oils it would be lovely

I'm happy with todays. I used to have one of these but broke it and never replaced it. I'm not sure if it has any real effect on my skin but it feels very relaxing!

I was rollering my face at 6.30 this morning, family thought I had lost the plot!! Actually quite like this and have been wanting to try one for ages.tried a tiny amount of the oil on my face last night and quite liked it.

I love this! I've ever had one. It feels so lovely. Today I will mainly be rollering my face.

I completely feel like this. Another disappointing day. I already have a few of these knocking around the house. I loved last years but will probably get a different one next year now

I'm happy with today's, not something I'd buy for myself but tried it this morning and it's pleasant enough. Yesterday's oil was lovely on my elbows, but I used a drop on my face last night and have a spot on my chin today, don't know if there's a correlation but I won't use it on my face again.

Haven't got one of these already but always wanted one so pleased with this, not sure how to use and how much pressure to apply but I'll have a play around with it. (Once then realistically probably never use it again.)

@XiCi This year's Look Fantastic looks to be really good, but you do pay a premium for it. Might put a wee bit away each month to cover the cost when it's released.

I have a roller from a previous calendar that I've never used so I doubt this one will get used either. I tried the Q+A gel last night and have woken up to a big blind spot on my chin, not great. Maybe it's just the result of trying too much new skincare. I'm enjoying trying new brands but get the impression this years calendar isn't rocking it as much as last years?

I’m not too excited about this calendar or my Boots one tbh, but I think that’s because I’ve been getting these calendars for a few years now so not feeling the same thrill. I will try out most of the stuff though.
The Boots one is very ‘safe’ and has been stuff I would buy anyway which is good in a way but the point of these is to try new stuff.

I'm not quite as blown away with products as I was last year. I think it must have been the novelty value last year, as this year, I do find that I'm preferring M&S as the products seem to be more luxurious and feel like a treat.
I am still enjoying H&B and would consider it for next year but I'm starting to think that I might save up and get John Lewis instead, or just stick with M&S.

I might go back to M&S next year as well.

This year I got their summer beauty bag which was amazing.

Last year I bought occitane in the sales and did “jadvent”. Got me through lockdown
I didn’t have one for actual advent though.

Might go and look at feel unique…

I was thinking of trying to get another beauty calendar for January to make it more exciting 😂

I feel a bit crazy having done this but I've bought the Feel Unique one and am going to stash it for next year. I like and will use everything in it and it's 40% off at the moment. There's an extra 5.7% off via Quidco if anyone else is tempted.

I also looked at Feel Unique - I decided not to get it as it will double up some stuff I already have. At least 4-5 items were the same as M&S in previous years which are products I still have.

A couple of years ago I bought the Nuxe calendar in the January sale and really enjoyed it!!

I've had a few M&S boxes and they're always the same products. The only thing in the Feel Unique box I've had in M&S is the Nuxe oil which I love anyway so that's fine.
mumonthehill I agree. I got a bargain Nuxe advent calendar in the boxing day sales one year and it was gorgeous
