I want lace-up boots as comfy and light as trainers BUT THEY DON’T EXIST

I would like boots which:

Are lace up
Have soft soles or are a bit squishy underfoot
Are light
Go above the ankle ideally, but not completely essential.
Are black or tan or khaki
Are leather or suede

The search for such a pair is now really getting me down. I don’t think they exist…

Another vote for Josef Siebel. They are the most comfortable and soft boots I’ve ever owned.

cloudjumper · 13/11/2021 23:32

Look for Sorel boots, they are fab

Mustreadabook · 13/11/2021 23:37

I just got some heavenly feet ones lovely and soft inside.

Bluesheep8 · 14/11/2021 07:33

I've got some Clarks ones. Must be about 15 years old. I'll post a pic

Sittinginthesand · 14/11/2021 07:41

I’m pleased with these www.modainpelle.com/boots-c4/ankle-boots-c45/bezzie-black-leather-p10072

Air & Grace do the most amazingly comfortable trainers and boots. I have these and love them.

Have you tried Fly London, OP? I've had a couple of pairs and they are the most comfortable things I've ever worn on my feet!

chalkyc2 · 14/11/2021 08:21

I'm currently deliberating between the Ugg's posted earlier in the thread and these fitflops -

I prefer the Ugg's I think but know that the fitflops will be comfortable...

RampantIvy · 14/11/2021 08:22

I have these Ecco boots

123tigger · 14/11/2021 08:25

Try Gabor Ive got a leather pair. Wide fit . Leather very soft.

Herecomesthesun70 · 14/11/2021 08:35

Blowfish Malibu so comfy boots
Had a biker pair I wore to death. Was so sad to lose them.

SallyOMalley · 14/11/2021 08:35

How about these leather hi top trainers from Moda in Pelle?

They look a bit like the Lotus ones you like but without the fur (although they have a shearling lining). Come in black, tan and grey.

ThePlantsitter · 14/11/2021 08:38

www.gudrunsjoden.com/en-gb/clothes/shoes/product-110041-dark-copper-36 I have these in black and they are the best boots I have ever had.

chalkyc2 · 14/11/2021 09:16

I also have these Gabor high tops. They are a tiny bit narrow for me (have wide feet post having kids!) but mostly v comfortable,

ambereeree · 14/11/2021 11:31

@chalkyc2 how do they do in the rain? I've been hesitating over buying them.

Shannith · 14/11/2021 11:32

I got mine from Clark's recently.

Fit the bill - light soft leather and literally the only ones that don't make me feel like I'm wearing clodhoppers.

I'll not be running in them obviously but I feel like I could if I wanted too

tomorrowisanother · 14/11/2021 11:38

@NotImpossible

Vivobarefoot Gobis or Belenka Winter Boots? Both pricey but very light and flexible.
Vivobarefoot get my vote.
namechangecoercivecontrol · 14/11/2021 11:43

I second Josef Siebel- good selection, some more like walking boots but others smart. Mine are zip rather than lace up. Great quality, comfort, durability

Member589500 · 14/11/2021 11:45

I love my white soles tan Timberland boots. They fit my wide feet and bridge that trainer/boot gap you’re looking to fill.
Timberlands seem to last forever and are waterproof too. Better than most fashion shoes for not much more £.

ambereeree · 14/11/2021 12:06

@Member589500 which timberlands did you get? I find they generally don't fit my wide feet.

Member589500 · 14/11/2021 13:36

@ambereeree Google say the white sole Timberlands I have are an old model called Kenniston. Bought those used so they were already soft and comfortable.
I have the classic 6’’ boots too and they were a bit hard to wear in but the Cormayeur valley Chelsea boots I have are very wide. Have to wear thick socks! They are lovely boots so maybe look at them if you need width.
