I want lace-up boots as comfy and light as trainers BUT THEY DON’T EXIST

I would like boots which:

Are lace up
Have soft soles or are a bit squishy underfoot
Are light
Go above the ankle ideally, but not completely essential.
Are black or tan or khaki
Are leather or suede

The search for such a pair is now really getting me down. I don’t think they exist…

I had a pair years ago from primark! (It had just opened in my home town). They weren't leather but looked like suede. I climbed a mountain in them. I loved them.

Am currently wearing a supposedly comfortable pair from Mosholu which cost £££££ and are not that comfy yet but I have hopes they might be in future . . .

MistandMud · 13/11/2021 16:26

I have a pair from Hotter ( I know, I know) that are black, comfortable, lace up and part leather. They aren't 'squishy' exactly, but I can happily walk all day in them.

BeaucoupFish · 13/11/2021 16:28

Lotus boots are very lightweight and comfy, I have a pair I wear as slippers now

CharlesCh1ckens · 13/11/2021 16:28

They exist in Ecco if that's your thing

dudsville · 13/11/2021 16:30

I have a pair of DMs, they're heavy sore but very squishy like wearing horse shoes. It's the style they make that's contorted from the first wear.... starts with a p... I'll Google and come back.

dudsville · 13/11/2021 16:31

Ooh, the typos in that post, house shoes, not horse.

dudsville · 13/11/2021 16:32

Pascal!

These are very light, soft, warm, comfy....

Thanks all- the lotus are the closest, but I hate the furry bit. There’s always something not right! Definitely want something that’s not a hiking boot style, but with the comfort, lightness and flexibility of something like Skechers or Fitflop.

Any other suggestions or links gratefully received!

I have these in a mushroom colour and really rate them - super comfy and light:

Apparently these are great too:

I know Hotter have a reputation as old lady shoes, but I have some knee high black leather boots which are unbelievably comfortable, light as a feather and still stylish. Definitely worth a look.

BeaucoupFish · 13/11/2021 18:24

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads
I have two, pairs of Orinocos I LOVE them but wouldn’t describe them as ‘squishy’ per `OP’s remit
Love your user name ❤️

Picklechamp · 13/11/2021 18:32

I strongly recommend Camper. My feet are covered in surgical scars and I struggle massively to find comfortable footwear. Camper are not cheap, but they last really well, are super lightweight, and so comfortable. I have several pairs in different styles. They come up small though, so so size up, especially if you have wide feet.

SplodgeWaddler · 13/11/2021 18:34

Ah I have some absolutely perfect ones that I got from tkmaxx but they’re quite a few years old now. I’ve been trying to find a replacement pair on eBay etc for ages but without any luck 😞 so following for ideas.

I live the look of the Lotus ones, but are they comfy?

SplodgeWaddler · 13/11/2021 18:36

Picklechamp Oh yes I tried on some lovely Camper ones a while ago but was put off by the high price.

These are the ones i now use as my outdoor ‘slippers’ they are a light tan colour I’m actually thinking of getting a new pair, comfiest boots I have ever had and they are featherweight

NotImpossible · 13/11/2021 18:40

Vivobarefoot Gobis or Belenka Winter Boots? Both pricey but very light and flexible.

Rabblesthecat · 13/11/2021 18:40

Now add in EEE fit due to having broken ones foot 7 times (don’t ask) and all of the above are not an option.

It’s trainers (and them limited ) or granny shows

ReviewingTheSituation · 13/11/2021 18:41

I'm on the exact same quest!
