@TempleofZoom I almost kept it because it was really nice, but I didn't love it quite as much as the workwear dress, and then I tried on the needlecord dress and instantly felt a million times better in it, so I think it just wouldn't really get worn enough for £160

@ilovecherries

I did buy new winter running tights today (gloomy expression as I consider putting the damn things to their appropriate use)

Is that the denim dress?

faustina · 02/11/2021 20:21

yes!

TempleofZoom · 02/11/2021 20:30

I didnt want to be rude if it was the Kin one 😁
It look a little long and a bit big on you.
Which isnt surprising as the size 6 was a perfect fit on size 12 me.

Laska2Meryls · 02/11/2021 20:30

Jute sound just right then Faustina I think I will order those.. I won 100 on premium bonds though today so it would be rude not too ...
... but I also am ordering the indigo twill Alix 🤦‍♀️...

Zoom, they are from Sturdy by Design. They have a very thin fleece lining. They aren’t very thick but I’ve run in them before down to about minus 8 and been fine once I get going. I’m size 12 and wear a medium.

I have almost decided to send this red jerkin back but could be talked out of it. I think I feel a little like I’m about to audition for The Pirate or Penzance in it.

When I’ve had things taken in round the waist it’s cost about £20.

faustina · 02/11/2021 21:09

@Laska2Meryls - you might want to hang fire and stalk JL for the jute gabis - they do pop up for a very reasonable price every now and again

@TempleofZoom - that's a 6 and it was quite close fitting on the bust, but then quite wide - I didn't mind the length though! Anyway, it's gone back and I'm really looking forward to the chartreuse cords.

I think the seller might have bought a job lot from the Kilver court (?)archive store because she had quite a few sizes, also some in a burnt caramel too? all bnwt - oh and I think she had some cord dresses too

HappyDays101010 · 02/11/2021 21:48

ARCHIVE STORE?!?!?!?!?!?

Shock
HappyDays101010 · 02/11/2021 21:58

I have googled it, and as I’m in Bath it’s actually doable as a day trip, but it looks like it may be closed as the outlet village has been sold. Does anyone know any more?

faustina · 02/11/2021 22:03

It's still on Instagram ! I think some people on the previous thread have been recently too

HappyDays101010 · 02/11/2021 22:15

Ooooh

Saurus72 · 03/11/2021 07:02

@HappyDays101010 yes I went in July! The rest of Kilver Court (apart from Toast and Mulberry I think) is closed. The Toast shop is big, it has some full priced current season but is mainly outlet stock, the prices are really good, and I was really excited to go but left empty handed. There was very little in size 12 which is my normal Toast size, much more in smaller and bigger sizes. I’d say it’s probably worth an hour’s drive. Good luck!

Snailhaterz2 · 03/11/2021 07:43

@HappyDays101010 I'm local to it, and its still there - hanging on until the entire complex opens again (apparently its been sold). I last went about 3 weeks ago. The amount of stock is variable, but certainly 3 weeks ago there was quite a lot. There's also a small section with full price stock. If you're in Bath its definitely worth a visit.

ilovecherries · 03/11/2021 08:35

I am going to try posting the pics of this jerkin one more time before I assume the gods are speaking take it to PO.

@ilovecherries I love that jerkin with the dark dress. It looks great. Slightly festive feel. For some reason I think it looks less good with the other outfit, but still nice.

On another note has anyone bought one of the mobiles made by Corrie Williamson from Toast? I've been having problems with it.....

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 03/11/2021 09:53

I think it looks best with the dark dress too @ilovecherries , similar to silverclothesline on instagram, she wears a lot of red and blue toast.
Now I’ve started wearing my jerkin, plain blue, I find I’m popping it on all the time, but I guess it’s a slightly easy colour than the red.

MrsCat1 · 03/11/2021 09:57

@ilovecherries I'm a bit of a sewing expert. I've remade several Toast items. Re the trousers, it really depends where they are too big and by how much. But I suspect it is not just a question of taking in the waist. Both styles have inset pockets which will be tricky and I suspect that the legs will need to be taken in as well. So in all honesty I suspect that your mum is right - they will need to be unpicked and re-made. But it is certainly very doable and would probably be worth paying a dressmaker to do. My late mil paid a dressmaker to take in some trousers and she didn't pay a huge amount.

ilovecherries · 03/11/2021 10:05

Oh thanks, MrsCat, that’s helpful. Yes, it’s def a bigger job than taking the waist in, they need slimmed down everywhere. I will get a cost for doing it, I think.
