@faustina @Countmeout, my Fracap Explorer boots have been dispatched - along with a Kindred gift! I will be so happy with a set of paper baubles. Last year I received two Kindred packages of furoshiki wrapping cloths, which I am finally using this Christmas.

Laska2Meryls · 21/12/2021 19:10

I have just looked at my last order , it says' kindred gift included' , but one hasn't arrives Sad.. but it also says order only partially fulfilled...

Very strange @lasksa. Wonder if they ran out?
NoCureForLove · 21/12/2021 20:49

BUT WHEN WILL THE SALE START??!!

neveradullmoment99 · 21/12/2021 20:50

I think it will maybe start tomorrow as today was the last day you can order in time for Christmas?
I reckon Kindred will get the first view. They normally do?

neveradullmoment99 · 21/12/2021 20:51

I do not have insider knowledge btw!

Nanasueathome · 21/12/2021 20:58

I checked my ordering history
I ordered 23rd December last year, in the sale preview
I’m sure someone earlier said it was from 22nd for them
Fingers crossed

AmethystMoonShine · 21/12/2021 21:20

@Nanasueathome that was me, I placed a sale order on 22 Dec last year.

Saurus72 · 21/12/2021 22:33

It’s so weird, even though I’m not excited about anything much for the sale I’m still obsessing about it. My email from Toast today said order my midday tomorrow for pre-Christmas delivery. So maybe tomorrow afternoon or Thursday?

Laska2Meryls · 21/12/2021 22:52

Thursday I reckon but usually its Kindred pre sale first..

Countmeout · 22/12/2021 12:49

Well I hope I’m not in the middle of my Sainsbury’s delivery when it launches or having my friend for lunch.

dudsville · 22/12/2021 12:53

I'm just joining in the wait for the sale... no one's going to like me for saying this, but I'm curious as to whether anyone's totted up what they've spent at Toast this year? I always do an end of year accounting of my clothes shopping as a way of keeping it in check and reminding me to keep only what I love. I'm amazed, looking back, at how cheap some things were when I made my first Toast sale purchase is 2019 - that was the fateful start of my Toast love as I developed a sudden hate of "skinnies" and feeling cramped up in my clothes. This year I've bought a coat, 3 dresses, 2 skirts and 2 pairs of trousers - not bad!

dudsville · 22/12/2021 13:04

Countmeout, I once arrived at work and happened to check my phone while I was waiting for a meeting to begin, saw the sale had started and had to arrive a little late! Hope you have an understadning friend!

Saurus72 · 22/12/2021 13:50

@dudsville You and I have a lot in common. I track my clothes/shoes/bag purchase throughout the year and have done so for several years in an attempt to a) buy less but better, and b) be able to clearly look at what I’ve bought vs what I’ve worn. It’s been very helpful and has really changed the way I shop. I used to be obsessed with sales but then when I looked back at what I’d bought in them, they rarely got worn - particularly things I bought in January/February each year.

This year, I’ve bought 8 dresses, 1 skirt and 1 shirt from Toast, spending £1159. The shirt and 1 of the dresses didn’t really work and I’m hoping to exchange via Toast Circle, the rest have been great and I’m really pleased. Most were not, sadly, bought in the sale which isn’t great from one point of view, but from another, means they are much more considered purchases which for me, as an ‘enthusiastic’ shopper, is a very positive outcome 😊.

The detailed analysis of inside my brain that no-one asked for 🙄.

ScottishMouse · 22/12/2021 14:20

This is really interesting to me. I have never done such an analysis, and think I would be shocked at the amount I have spent if I did. But I think I should bite the bullet and do it, as what you are saying makes a lot of sense. It also appeals to my list making brain!

AmethystMoonShine · 22/12/2021 14:27

I do this too! I track clothes/bags/footwear and beauty purchases. Not daily toiletries but any luxury items and make up etc. including beauty treatments and hair appointments. It’s was eye opener when I started Xmas Blush

Saurus72 · 22/12/2021 14:37

@ScottishMouse I found it pretty sobering the first year I did this. In 2018 I bought 78 things - over 6 pieces per month. But still had nothing to wear. In 2019 it went down to 42, much more considered. 2020 I bought 33, and this year the exact same. Still a lot but I’m a lot more ‘present’ instead of being a hysterical sale shopper.

@AmethystMoonShine - a kindred spirit 😊. I get some strange looks when I tell people about it but it really works for my list-obsessed brain too.

ScottishMouse · 22/12/2021 14:39

Ok, I am going off to do this right now. Before the sale starts and I go crazy!!

ScottishMouse · 22/12/2021 15:06

Ok, not as eye watering as I had thought it might be. Although I placed a lot of orders this year, I returned the majority. About half my purchases that I kept were sale items, the rest have all earned their keep apart from three - a jacket I sold on eBay for a decent price, a tshirt I wore only once then swapped for the fan print dress through Toast circle (definitely a win!), and a top that I got caught on a door handle and completely destroyed. Still sad about that one.
I also had a good look at what I had returned and tried to remember why. That will stop me re-buying any of those items in the sale, and make me consider a bit more (although obviously very quickly!) what I want/need to order.
Thanks for the suggestion, a good exercise which I will repeat.

Countmeout · 22/12/2021 15:27

🤣 @dudsville I would have done the same.

I only totted amount up once , I think it was after sale last year. I may add this year’s buys later in a quiet moment.
There’s nothing in stock that I really really want so not anticipating many sale buys. Although sometimes an odd item pops up that you didn’t know you wanted , last year it was the knitted skirt for me.

Countmeout · 22/12/2021 16:30

So ahem! I was logged in . Then I logged out and in again and put sale into search. There’s a few things when you scroll down. Don’t know if any of any interest to anyone, I ordered the espadrilles that I missed out of in the pale colour in the summer.

Countmeout · 22/12/2021 16:34

@dudsville @faustina @ToastCosILoveIt @applecatchers36 @ScottishMouse @Laska2Meryls @neveradullmoment99 @applecatchers36 @HappyDays101010 @SmaugMum sorry if I’ve missed you I’m making the tea.

@AmethystMoonShine. Sorry making a mess of this

faustina · 22/12/2021 16:39

@Countmeout - thank you so much for tagging me - but when I do that, the prices aren't reduced?
