Is available on Thursday in store and online apparently.

I was out all day yesterday so have just opened the last two boxes and it's a bit samey. Surely we could have had a mini body lotion/shampoo/conditioner to break up the monotony of hand cream and shower gel?

woodhill · 19/12/2021 14:19

I like the fact most of the products are useful rather than gimmicky stuff itms

I quite like face masks saying that

AnnieSnap · 19/12/2021 15:53

I’m disappointed with yet another hand cream 🙄

@Lowlifeinhighplaces given that you have mentioned your dislike of products made in China several times (so clearly you want us to know about it), it seems perfectly reasonable for @RampantIvy to ask why. You provoked the question, so don’t be snippy when it’s asked 🤷‍♀️

RampantIvy · 19/12/2021 17:13

Thank you @AnnieSnap, I was just curious in case there was a reason that I shouldn't be buying these items either.

I know that China's stance on testing on animals is questionable, so I was surprised to see that there were some cruelty free products made in China.

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 19/12/2021 17:34

@AnnieSnap, I can comment like everyone else on this thread about products, as we all have opinion's on the items in the calendar.

'Several times'.... I am not sure (perhaps I am wrong) about mentioning products made in China, several times I dont keep count and have no idea as to how I clearly want everyone to know about it, sorry but my reply is not being 'snippy' as you put it, I have not provoked a question I merely expressed an opinion, but I have no need to 'discuss' it on a really well meaning tread about a Beauty Calendar.

Anyway hope tomorrow's box is more exciting than another hand cream or body wash!

3dogsnorth · 19/12/2021 19:23

I'm not keen on the Autograph lip gloss stuff. Plum just is not my colour. Is it acceptable on here to ask if anyone would like it or to do a swap for another item? Sorry if it's been asked before but it's my first beauty advent calendar and I'm not sure of the protocol. If anyone would like it, please feel free to message me

MerylSqueak · 19/12/2021 20:51

I've loved it so far and will definitely get it again. It's really made the stressful run up to Christmas feel less of a drag. I even like the products I don't like as often they are things I've been curious to try but didn't want to risk paying full price as I have sensitive skin. Bloggers rave about the Emma Hardy but it bought out my rosacea. At least I didn't waste £40 on it! Nice to try it.

Some products from the summer one I have bought again.

AmethystMoonShine · 20/12/2021 07:14

I am hopeful that todays will go well with the mascara from a few days ago. I use this style of eyeliner in my top lid every day, so very pleased. Again as I’ve got older I have learned how much more flattering dark brown is than black on my eyes.

OnthePiste · 20/12/2021 07:15

I'm pleased with today's offering as I actually need a new one! Glad it is not black too.

Bavarois · 20/12/2021 07:28

I'm probably in the minority as I'd rather have a black liquid eyeliner, I don't usually use liquid liner for daytime. But happy enough with this. It looks like it has good staying power too.

mynameiscalypso · 20/12/2021 07:40

I have about a zillion black liquid eyeliners from various sources over the years so pleased to get a slightly different variation. I don't wear liquid eyeliner very often because I'm rubbish at applying it but I will give this a go at some point.

H1Drangea · 20/12/2021 07:53

I’m really excited about liquid eye liner !
Sad , but true

I have to say , I’m a bit disappointed with the packaging , I’ve had the Liberty calendar the last 2 years ( and would have had it again , but it’s the same decorative box , and I don’t want a third one the same )
I know there’s a huge price difference , but the Liberty one comes with a little card on each box telling you about the product , not just a clue on the box like the M & S one

I’m happy with the content , ( I like handcream ! ) and we’re having the bathroom redone in the new year , so I’m keeping all the shower stuff until then

I used the L'occitaine cream on top of the l'occitaine reset serum at night and there was lots of piling. I will use the cream on its own in future. I hate the piling feeling. I usually use a light decleor cream or clarins in the daytime under foundation and no piling.

Enjoying the advent calendar so far. As others have said, I would love perfume or more lipstick/gloss, so that it feels more of a treat pre Christmas. The build up is very hard and stressful anyway so it is lovely to have a calendar to open.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 20/12/2021 08:15

In previous years there has been lots of very small serums, primers etc. All too small to see if there is any benefit. I’m pleased so far we haven’t had any of that.

I’d have preferred to have this eyeliner over the Stila one and had a brow product or mask today.

3 shower gels
3 hand creams
2 eyeliners
And a partridge in a pear tree!!

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 20/12/2021 08:40

I dont use liquid eyeliner, so a friend will be getting this.

I have now ordered another mascara I love the one we got a few days ago.

Tried the elasticizer, it was just ok, my hair feels a little greasy this morning.

The 25th box is quite big!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/12/2021 09:07

It's not a great colour for me today, like the mascara its really light its just going to disappear on me tbh so I think I will pass it on. I have to say 2 eyeliners is much more disappointing than 3 hand creams!

It was £40! Just Google them!

I like the fact that the M&S tin is a good size. I’ve already emptied out the last boxes and am going to store rollers in it. My Liberty advent calendar box is sitting in my wardrobe, beautiful but useless unless I refill it. I might sell it on eBay next year.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 20/12/2021 09:24

"Well, at least it's not black" was my reaction to today's.

ThanksItHasPockets · 20/12/2021 09:39

I'm impressed with the staying power. I opened it a few days early and tried it on my hand, and really had to scrub to get it off later.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 20/12/2021 09:50

Yes, I agree - I rarely wear liquid eyeliner as I'm pants at applying it, but when I do it's for the dramatic, 60s look with flicks at the corner. Can't imagine that'll work in brown.

I'll try it out though - I'm enjoying trying new things that I wouldn't normally buy. I think that's why I'm finding the hand creams and shower gels boring, tbh - hard to make them new or interesting to try!

NumaNumaYay · 20/12/2021 10:14

I got a black one of these in the m&s calendar a few years ago and was impressed enough to keep buying them. Brown wouldn't be my choice but I'll give it a try.
After a not-black eye pencil I think this liquid one should've been black!

NumaNumaYay · 20/12/2021 10:16

The brand is Eyeko, btw - it's not at all clear on the pen!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 20/12/2021 10:19

Another eyeliner but I quite like having a matching product with the mascara and I agree that it's fun to try things that I wouldn't normally.

Orcadianrythyms · 20/12/2021 10:44

Love this as I wear brown and this seems very easy to put on. I'll let you know if it lasts the day, I feel quite glam for a Monday.

I think this has been brilliant value and I've enjoyed the products and the daily chat - I'll miss it.

I had Liberty last year and didn't enjoy it as much as this, I felt real rage some days at the perceived waste of money ( that bloody '£150' lip serum!!!!!) which might be because I'm a meanie but this is a much less high pressure calendar. If I don't like something I find it much easier to move on.

RampantIvy · 20/12/2021 11:32

I never wear liquid eyeliner so will donate this to someone who will appreciate it.
