Is available on Thursday in store and online apparently.

OP posts:

I’m sure we will get a mask. The sleep spray was really good.

SomethingAboutNothing · 19/12/2021 09:25

3 hand creams is definitely excessive and I use a lot of hand cream!

I would have liked to have seen more make up related products, a make up brush of some sort always goes down well too. Skin products such as primer or face masks would be appreciated.

This calendar just feels a bit boring this year, last year I had look fantastic one which was much better (though I realise more expensive), though their customer service is shit, which puts me off using them.

supadupapupascupa · 19/12/2021 09:31

It was £40! It's well worth what we paid.

FreshFaceTime · 19/12/2021 09:37

Not saying it isn't worth what we paid. Even a soap instead of one of the shower gels would've been a bit different. I know you can't please everyone and not everyone would want a soap, just thinking of alternatives to 3x similar products. Agree a makeup brush would've been nice.

HollyHocks13 · 19/12/2021 09:41

More hand cream! I'm sure it's very nice but I agree with others that 3 hand creams and 3 shower gels are disappointing and to be honest feel a bit like fillers.
I really hope we get some Shay and Blue perfume this year again.

Anjelika · 19/12/2021 09:50

Yikes another handbag sized hand cream. As PP have already said, a primer would be great. I'd also appreciate some high end shampoo to try out.

123tigger · 19/12/2021 09:50

Think this years is the best m and s calendar I’ve had. Only a few things I won’t use. Yes some are a bit boring but can’t go wrong with shower gels. Always nice to try something different. Hand cream mine always seem to disappear or can’t find it at the time. Don’t think you can go wrong for £40.00 a bargain. Especially as I always find something I want to but again in it. Not interested in to much make up. Think the balance is just right this year.

Helpstopthepain · 19/12/2021 10:33

I’m loving the last few products!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 19/12/2021 10:41

Was anyone else's wrapped in tissue paper too? It's a bit odd as it's the only one so far wrapped.

It is a lot of hand cream though. Ds is also getting me hand cream and our crackers contain hand cream this year too. I'd better up my usage!

LizzieSiddal · 19/12/2021 10:42

I don’t mind little hand trans as I use them a lot. I do wish we had a nice body lotion though.

NumaNumaYay · 19/12/2021 10:46

Hate to say it but today is the first day I was quite disappointed - we've only 6 days to go and this is the THIRD hand cream ,which is ubiquitous at this time of year anyway - I still have several huge tubes/pots from previous years as people keep giving them to me!

A lovely eyeshadow or primer would've been good, or a perfume. Here's hoping...

Bavarois · 19/12/2021 10:47

It is definitely worth the £40, I'm not complaining, but it is dull. I think for me it's a functional, useful collection and would be a great beauty box but it doesn't work as an advent calendar. I'm not excited to open it each morning because it's been so repetitive. Wish I'd opened it all in one go, think I'd have loved it for £40 then. Agree a primer or highlighter would have jazzed it up a bit, it's not like it would have taken much to make it just a wee bit better.

Hands going female to male?
GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 19/12/2021 11:12

I find hand cream very boring. It's a "maintenance" thing for me, not a treat.

I'd quite like an eyeshadow or a cream blusher.

Talisin · 19/12/2021 11:19

I mean, handcreams will all get used so at least they’re useful, but… really? Three of them and all little sizes? I know we’ve all been antibaccing our hands to dryness these past two years but this seems excessive.

rosegoldwatcher · 19/12/2021 11:36

Today's handcream isn't THAT small though. has anyone opened it yet? Does it smell good?

I would like a facial exfoliater. I think we will be getting some perfume...

Tinseltrauma · 19/12/2021 11:49

I'm loving this years calendar, I think it's the best yet. Usually the make up items aren't my colours but I've struck lucky this year. Neutral lip colour, brown mascara and a grey eye pencil - all great for me. I also enjoy the hand creams and shower gels. I wouldn't normally spend a lot on this sort of stuff so it's nice to try something a little up market. Excellent value overall 😀

FreshFaceTime · 19/12/2021 11:53

@rosegoldwatcher I opened it and like the smell. Happy with the size. I wouldn't want huge sizes of anything tbh as if you don't like them it's harder to use them up!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/12/2021 11:54

Has anyone found the lip balm hard to apply. Mine is really hard and drags my lips and doesn’t leave anything behind. Wondering if it’s the cold house that’s affecting it.

tandt5 · 19/12/2021 11:55

A bigger size hand cream which is good. One of the hand creams will go as a stocking fillers for my DD.
Going back to L'Occitane day cream - I used it before on its own and it was fine but yesterday I put foundation on and ended up with lots of pilling. Did anyone else experience similar problem?
Anyway it will be used as a night cream (not much of it anyway) but will not purchase full size based on this sample.
That's why I love advent calendars!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 19/12/2021 12:06

I just think the smell of the L'Occitane day cream gets worse and worse every time I apply it, I've nearly finished the little pot thankfully. It's a firm no for me on that one but it is nice to try new things, not everything can be a winner!

FreshFaceTime · 19/12/2021 12:40

I didn't use the L'Occitane one as a day cream. I liked it as a night cream but not enough to repurchase.

Bavarois · 19/12/2021 13:24

@DobbyTheHouseElk the Ultrasun one or the Autograph one? Although I haven't had that issue with either tbh

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/12/2021 13:26

The Ultrasun one. Maybe my house is too cold and it’s totally solidified.

Fourmagpies · 19/12/2021 13:51

DobbyTheHouseElk I've always found the Ultrasun ones to be like that so I don't think it's the cold. They are quite solid and difficult to put on. I assume due to the SPF.
