I kept on meaning to come on here last week but time just slipped away from me! In the end, during a bought of insomnia last night I got caught up!

I have some empties/chucks to report:

  • Dr Paw Paw multipurpose soothing balm: got this in an advent, I think. Have only used a couple of times. Hate that is has a tint to it - which is orange, not a colour that suits. I am not in to tinted lip balms. Will see if my SIL wants to give this a go.
  • Catrice glam & doll easy wash off power hold mascara: only just seeing it was supposed to be easy wash off... anyway I did like this, cheap as chips. Did not notice that it was way easier to get off though.
  • Skyn berry lip fix: this was in an M&S advent about 4 years ago.... and I think I opened it straight away...anyhoo have decided to chuck as I just don't feel good using anymore. The tint on this one was not noticeable. I do prefer Eucerin though and have replaced it with that - I do like tube lip balms for my handbag.

@Experiment627 I've got a Dr Paw Paw hanging about unopened in my stash that I think came in an ac. It's another of those products that I don't really know what to do with. I don't think that mine is tinted though.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/11/2021 09:16

I rarely seem to have empties even though I’m using more products than at any stage in my life before.

Micellar cleansing water by Garner - HG for me. I have so many different types of cleansers but this does everything and when you are tired at the end of the day it’s so easy to use this rather than things you have to faff about with.

Clarins instant concealer - this was a wee sample. I didn’t expect to have much of an opinion on this but it was actually good. I have a benefit concealer to use up but I would buy this one next time.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/11/2021 09:28

Oh and

Maui body wash - wasn’t keen on the smell (pineapple and papaya) and wouldn’t get again.

Experiment627 · 24/11/2021 09:40

I have an empty:

  • Radox stress relief bath soak: my son loved the bubbles and I liked the smell

I also have finished the 24 days Macmillan advent calendar- I really liked it. Great value for money and supporting a good cause so all good.

I've finished two more foundations - one is Estee Lauder Double Wear Light 30ml, and the other is a 5ml or so Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue. This leaves me with three brand new foundations (still enough, eh?!) but its great to be able to throw away almost used tubes.

Also finished a Rituals 50ml foaming shower Gel in Sport - one of DH's that he didn't like the consistency of, which I used because I don't like waste. Which I know sounds strange for someone who has 120 face & body products in the stash.

WellTidy · 24/11/2021 11:41

I love Radox too! Great value.

Experiment627 · 24/11/2021 14:09

@WellTidy it really is!

I'm another Radox fan. 👋

I know what you mean about waste WellTidy I'm the same.

I'm enjoying working my way through the stash. It's made me so aware of the amount I have of each type of product. For the first time ever I'm not buying random this and that when shopping.

I'm finding its crossing over into other areas of life too. I'm much more aware of what I have and the fact I don't need another whatever-it-is. Everything is going to feel so much less cluttered when I only have what's being used plus a spare and not heaps of things stashed everywhere.

Ponks · 24/11/2021 23:46

Another Radox lover here, especially the original version. Can't beat it.

My empties today:

  • Bobbi Brown cleansing oil mini, nice but not wow, I'd rather have Superfacialist for a fraction of the price.
  • Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base. Nice smell but more of a primer than moisturiser, liked it must when I mixed it in with a light gel moisturiser or oil.
  • Aurelia revitalise & glow serum. A No from me, didn't like the smell and it really didn't seem to add anything to my skin. Certainly no glow.

As I'm using things up, it's good to realise what products I really like and would buy again. At the moment I'm loving:

  • Murad rapid dark spot correcting serum: seems to have helped my pigmentation.
  • Pestle & Mortar vitamin c serum. Lovely texture, part oil but sinks in beautifully and my skin loves it.
  • Sunday Riley Ice ceramide cream, just putting it on feels luxurious and relaxing
  • Lancome Miel en Mousse cleanser: holy grail product and the one thing I've kept repurchasing for a couple of years. Not that it stops me trying others!
latedecember1963 · 25/11/2021 07:27

I know what you mean, FluffyWhiteBird.
I've been slowly going through each room in our house for the last 18 months and filtering out the things that I know we don't need.
I've adopted a policy that if I get something it's because I need it. I'm not buying any new Christmas clothes because I already have things in good condition from previous years.
I also have a stash of craft kits and wool, jigsaws and books that I am going to work my way through.
It's actually quite liberating!

Experiment627 · 25/11/2021 17:48

@FluffyWhiteBird that sounds really positive! I am also much more targeted with what I am buying although I still sometimes revert back to type and buy multiples of the same thing when not needed.

@latedecember1963 Yes! It is very liberating!!! I still manage to get a lot of clutter relating to my son, but for me I have really cut back on what I buy and I do not feel hard done by, I feel happy that what I do have is being out to good use.

Not sure this is the right place, but Aurelia has a great Black Friday offer, 40% off with BLACK40 and free gifts and postage, I bought small bottle of the night oil which I love and it was £12. Sorry not very clear-outy Grin

PomRuns · 26/11/2021 20:43

Off to Aureila site !

PomRuns · 27/11/2021 10:46

Thank you @clary I ordered two face oils.
Neom site also has good offers. I purchased the Black Friday bundle which was 50% off.

daisyjgrey · 27/11/2021 11:58

First empty in a while.

I liked this, it wasn't really runny or gloopy and there was no white cast. It didn't make my eyeballs want to fall out either. I would have preferred it to be SPF50 though.

I've got an Ambre Solair face SPF to try next, and I've checked Beauty Pie and they've got an SPF 50 now so I would probably repurchase that instead of the lower one.

Bit of an empties stash (getting ready for Wednesday 😂)

Lumene moisturisers (from Jadvent) - one was too thick so used up as a handcream, the other was a bit thin.
Elemis Rose hand cream, nice fragrance, got lots of handcreams tho
Keys facial cleanser, part of GWP, did not like, too frothy and skin felt dry
Sheet mask, very nice, lovely fragrance
Nars lip pencil from AC two years ago! have been scraping it out with a lip brush as I like the colour and staying power but have finally admitted defeat 😂

Experiment627 · 29/11/2021 08:38

I have one empty:

  • Kingfisher fennel toothpaste: this is HG for me, have broken out a new one
OP posts:
latedecember1963 · 29/11/2021 09:06

The Elemis handcream is lovely. I keep a tube at my caravan.

I'd not heard of Kingfisher toothpastes. Why is it a HG, Experiment?
I've used Colgate for years with the occasional foray into McCleans or Aquafresh because those are the ones I see advertised. I'll be 58 at Christmas and I'm determined that my teeth aren't going to deteriorate the way my dad's did if I can possibly help it.
One thing I've learnt from the Style and Beauty threads is there's a whole range of brands I've never heard of.

Experiment627 · 29/11/2021 10:31

@latedecember1963 I have been using Kingfisher toothpastes for years:

  • the fennel flavour is fresh yet not harsh like mint ones can be
  • the ingredients are natural ingredients (so no artificial flavourings, colourings, preservatives)
They also have fluoride free versions (however I have switched to the fluoride one due to an ex-dentist saying it was in the best interests of my son... but I may need to get a second opinion... I mean in London all our tap water has it added - is that not enough?).
OP posts:
latedecember1963 · 29/11/2021 11:13

Thank you so much for that information. I'm in Lancashire and the water here doesn't have flouride added as far as I know.

FluffyWhiteBird · 29/11/2021 15:34

One empty. Benefit lip balm in a tin. It's just blue petroleum jelly from what I can tell. Won't be repurchasing. Lasted ages though.

WellTidy · 29/11/2021 16:59

Not an empty, more of a chuck. Little pot of Benefit cream eyeshadow that I absolutely loved but is no longer creamy and too had to do anything with. Gutted as it’s a great subtle metallic so is perfect for this time of year. Came as part of a gift set received about eight years ago and the colour is long discontinued!

clary · 30/11/2021 10:58

Two more empties (clearing out ahead of 1 Dec!)
Sun and Sand Australian face mask from a GWP - ok
Watermelon AHA toner - really like this and I think it's in one of my ACs as well.
