@AprilLady

Hahaha yes. I owe both my nipples to that cream!

Justilou1 · 16/11/2021 09:35

@creampuff99 as it’s been so long since I used the stuff (more than ten years, potentially more than 20) I thought I’d better check my facts/assumptions, but I’m sorry to say tht this time I’m correct. I went straight to the Weleda website.

Are the Weleda Skin Food products vegan?

Weleda uses beeswax and lanolin in Skin Food, Skin Food Light and Skin Food Lip Balm, therefore these products are not considered vegan.

Skin Food Body Butter is made without raw materials of animal origin. However, contact of the product and its raw materials to material of animal origin during the manufacturing process cannot be ruled out entirely.

daisyjgrey · 16/11/2021 10:38

@Justilou1

Ahh well done, god knows what I was reading!

JunieSpoony · 16/11/2021 15:35

I was going to buy some Skin Food but don't think I will bother now!

No empties here, but some coming up for later in the week.

WellTidy · 16/11/2021 15:50

I've always been intrigued by Skin Food, but no longer! Not that I would have needed it, there is enough face cream in the stash to last for over a year. I had no idea that it was as you say it is. I have had an Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream 'on the go' for 15+ years, which shows how infrequently I use it. The last time was when I had sunburn, and once it had calmed down, I mixed the 8 hour cream with some moisturiser and it was miraculous.

MidnightMeltdown · 16/11/2021 22:20

@AprilLady I've always thought that my skin was slightly on the dry side, but since trying out a few extra nourishing products for dry skin, I've changed my mind! I think I just have normal skin.

@daisyjgrey it definitely has lanolin as it's listed on the packaging. It's not something that I'd ever heard of before.

Glad that I saved people some money on trying out skin food 🤣

daisyjgrey · 16/11/2021 22:22

@MidnightMeltdown

Yeah I think I was reading the body butter one, who can say 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I've quite enjoyed the skinfood reminder, I've been using on my cuticles and dry nose bits the last couple of days. I think it helps to not think of it as a cream, and definitely more of an ointment.

daisyjgrey · 16/11/2021 22:23

@supadupapupascupa Has your box arrived yet? Mine came this morning...!

supadupapupascupa · 16/11/2021 22:39

@NotMyCat which Neom box is that? Looks amazing !
@NotMyCat which Neom box is that? Looks amazing !
It's look fantastic x neom, not sure if it's sold out now but I got it from the look fantastic site

FluffyWhiteBird · 17/11/2021 01:45

One empty. Childs Farm Watermelon And Pineapple Hair And Body Wash. I used it instead of shower gel and found it effective. It's sulfate free and advertised for babies and eczema, which I have. It smells great. I'd definitely buy it again.

Justilou1 · 17/11/2021 02:44

@NotMyCat Neom looks lovely!!! Enjoy!!!
The Watermelon & Pineapple combo sounds delicious. (Bet it would rock as a mojito, too!) @FluffyWhiteBird. I have noticed a couple of Child’s Farm products at one of our supermarkets. Nothing as interesting as your W&P scent…You’d have to sell your child to pay for it as well.

Thought I’d pop in to say that the Laneige packs arrived. The tiny pots are really tiny. Good for handbag. The peach iced tea is simply peach-scented, but lovely. It’s not as sickly as other peach balms I’ve had in the past, so that’s something. The gingersnap one is not remotely gingery. More caramel, I would say. It’s not me, but damn, the colour it leaves absolutely is! (Very subtle golden/honey colour. Shame about the pong, but it’s already in my bag.) The large one that has no scent stated on the pot is actually a berry one, but I think it’s different to the normal berry one. Could it perhaps be cranberry? It’s lovely. Not at all disappointed. I purchased the minis last year simply for the lemon one. It was yuck. It smelled very faintly of sweet, lemon syrup. My daughter loved it and lost it.

PomRuns · 17/11/2021 11:10

Thanks so much @NotMyCat just had a look and says will be back in stock. I purchased the Christmas stars from the Neom site - can’t wait to use them 🎄(too early?).

PomRuns · 17/11/2021 13:50

And a few empties:
All Elemis.
Skin nourishing shower cream - only had a 50ml bottle but loved it, nice fragrance and felt moisturising. A definite repurchase.
Sea lavender body cream - effective but wasn’t keen on the as the name would suggest - sea smell.
Pro collagen eye mask - really liked it, felt quite balm like. Can be used as a eye cream rather than mask which I did. Would repurchase.

latedecember1963 · 17/11/2021 17:19

I love Neom too and have converted my MiL. She adores the pillow mist.

JunieSpoony · 18/11/2021 14:41

Two empties: one travel bottle of Garnier micellar water (will RP) and one sample size sachet of Youth to the People Adaptogen moisturiser. It seemed nicesmooth and not greasybut three days just doesn't seem a long enough test.

clary · 18/11/2021 22:53

Couple of empties - Lumene vitamin C cleanser, really like this, a RP from the advent calendar. Can't buy it again tho as may be about to acquire more...

Also got two uses out of a free Elemis collagen cleanser sample, really nice.

Binning an almost empty tube of Eliz Arden 24hr cream I found when clearing out my drawer at work (leaving this role soon), tried it and it smelled awful!

WellTidy · 18/11/2021 22:58

Empty - massive Elnett hairspray. Haven’t used hairspray for years until a few weeks ago and I am loving it

latedecember1963 · 20/11/2021 09:55

Elnett hairspray always makes me think of student Friday abd Saturday nights out. Happy times. 🤗
3 empties to report.
The Body Shop Hemp Moisturiser is what I use to counteract the sea air at our caravan so I'll get a new pot in the Spring to keep there.
The EL Wake Up Balm is 1 of my favourite products. I already have a spare waiting but will use up some of the other products before opening or else they'll continue to linger.
The Living Proof hair styler is from either an M and S or QVC beauty box. I prefer the Percy and Read version so wouldn't choose to buy it.

latedecember1963 · 20/11/2021 09:56

Sorry, forgot piccie.

MidnightMeltdown · 20/11/2021 14:02

I also have 3 empties this week. I've exceeded my target of 24 empties before advent 💪 and I think they'll be more this month too. Just as well as the stash is full and I still have two advent calendars left to open! Blush

This week I have:

Skin 111 Bright Eye Lift Gel - nothing special. I have no idea why skin 111 is so expensive as nothing I've tried from them so far has been that great. It seems to me that they are a bit of an Avant and simply bump up the 'value' of beauty boxes. That said, I'm not yet at an age where I have wrinkles around my eyes, or any specific problems other than dark circles, so there could me something that I'm missing.

Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant in Plum - this is a HG everyday product for me. I've used it for years and always have multiples on the go in every handbag!

Bum Bum Cream - this is a really nice quality moisturiser, lovely consistency. I'm not too sure about the scent. It's not bad, but it reminds me a bit of when I was a kid/young teenager and people would always buy me chocolate and vanilla scented perfumes/body creams/shower gels. I feel a bit like a kid playing grownup! I don't mind wearing it at home, but probably wouldn't wear it if I was going out. It's very overpowering and makes me smell like I work in a fudge factory, which isn't normally the look I'm going for! 😂. I can't say that I noticed any tightening or smoothing, but it was only a 75ml jar and I used it all over my body, so it didn't last long at all. I probably should have used it just on my bum bum to see whether it made a difference! 😂. I wouldn't buy this product just for the scent as I think that there are nicer options in this price range (Jo Malone etc), but I might consider it if made a visible difference, and it is a nice quality moisturiser. Would be interested to know if anyone has used this product longer term and actually noticed a difference in their skin.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Platinum Stem Cell Eye Mask.
Forgot to do a before and after so no idea if I looked better. It was fiddly to apply but nice and cooling on. I liked that I could play in my phone and see stuff whilst it worked. I'm not convinced eye masks are any better than creams and serums but I have a few to try in my stash.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer.
This is one of two which I am continuing to use. It was easy to use but again I don't know if it did anything. My hair is very coarse and I throw all sorts of oils at it.

Nuxe hand cream.
Nothing special. Just a hand cream.

Boucleme curls redefined hair cleanser.
Awful. Soaked straight into hair. Used the whole thing in one wash and didn't seem to touch the scalp. Mind you I don't like shampoo full stop.

Maison matine Esprit de contradiction.
Not me. But was pleasant enough
