Ooo the Boots box looks amazing! I have held out so far but I'm wavering.

Today's empty is a Sand & Sky Australian Emu Apple super voice mask, from a GWP. I think it's supposed to be very moisturising but I didn't notice much impact, in fact sometimes it made my face sting a bit.

Has anyone got recommendations for horrible crepey under eyes? I'm Googling eye creams even though I know nothing really works.

Justilou1 · 10/11/2021 21:40

@Experiment627 - the formula change thing always happens. Why do they do this? I used to love Champagne/Yvresse. It used to leave the most delicious afterglow. Meanwhile, now it’s Eau de Bug Repellent within minutes.

Experiment627 · 10/11/2021 21:45

@Justilou1 they do it cos they are bastardos!!! I just don't get it!!!

@Ponks I am still searching for an HG eye cream - that said - I have recently liked the Boots Glow one (£4) and the Superdrug B one (they have relaunched).

@Ponks… I know this is a horrible term, so brace yourself… you may need to embrace “Slugging”. (I have been doing it in heated or airconditioned places for over 30 years and highly recommend.) I would use an eye cream containing HA & ceramides, but ensure that you don’t use too much. Preferably something for sensitive skin, just in case the reason your eyes are crepey is irritation. (Eucerin, LRP, etc.) Then gently smear a layer of plain Vaseline over the top to stop it from evaporating overnight. (Just get a little pot and see how it goes.. It’s also good for eyelashes, btw.)
Just out of interest, what are you removing makeup/cleansing with? Could you be stripping the area?

WellTidy · 10/11/2021 21:52

I’ve googled the boots box as I had serious FIMO Smile and it is still available folks!

Rituals full size candle, full size Pixi Glow tonic, Elasticizer and benefit pore-fessional are all favourites of mine. And so many other lovely things to try

Must remind myself of my stock take which showed 110+ items (not including make up or hair stuff) that I had in the stash or on the go

Must repeat this as a mantra

Must

WellTidy · 10/11/2021 21:55

I am also searching for a HG eye cream. I haven’t used one that I really thought works - ever. Had high hopes for the Estée Lauder ones and they don’t seem to be having any effect but make my eyes itch (I have awful itchy eyes in hayfever season so can do without it at other times of the year). Trying an Aurelia roller ball at the moment, which is lovely and cooking, but not giving any effect. I have high hopes for a Filorga in the stash. The stash contains other eye creams too so will report back in due course.

Ponks · 10/11/2021 22:08

@Justilou1 I use a tiny amount of Lancome Miel en Mousse cleanser in the morning then in the evening I use a cleansing balm (eg No7 ) followed by a little gel cleanser.
Lately the gel cleanser (was using up one from M&S) has started to tingle slightly and my face seems to be a bit more reactive.
I currently use a Paula's Choice ceramide Eye cream but it also contains retinol so I wonder if that is irritating my under eyes. Anyway I got a shock looking in the mirror the other afternoon as I looked like I had aged 20 years during the day.

At the moment I am after something soothing and hydrating I think. Just remembered I've got a little Aldi avocado eye cream in my gym bag which might give a boost of moisture.

I'll try the slugging tonight, I have a little tin of Vaseline in the cupboard.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 10/11/2021 22:10

I have terribly wrinkly eyes. I did have dark circles too but managed to banish those using a glow product - wee green pot. I’ll check it’s proper name when I’m upstairs.

Alas I think my eye wrinkles are too ingrained for anything to touch them.

JunieSpoony · 11/11/2021 00:01

Slugging sounds interesting, @Justilou1. Do you then have to wipe it off in the morning or is it all absorbed?

daisyjgrey · 11/11/2021 13:50

Does it not immediately go all over your pillow and/or hair? Or am I the only one who sleeps pretty much face down...

daisyjgrey · 11/11/2021 13:52

@supadupapupascupa

Oops! (It's fab)
OMG you win. I want this SO much.

Can I get it and use the minis in my daughters advent calendar...would that make it justifiable...?

Ponks · 11/11/2021 14:56

@daisyjgrey having tried it last night.. yes it does go all over the pillow!

Ponks · 11/11/2021 14:58

@JunieSpoony a lot seemed to be absorbed (either by face or pillow) in the night but i could still feel it a bit tacky on my skin in the morning.

daisyjgrey · 11/11/2021 14:59

@Ponks

There is no way in hell I'd manage to keep this on my face for more than about 2.5 minutes. I could probably manage it from getting in the house until bedtime though, or for days spent at home, so I might give it a bash, as long as I am not within 10 feet of a soft furnishing!

daisyjgrey · 11/11/2021 15:00

@supadupapupascupa

I caved embarrassingly quickly. It's really good value and I actually use a lot of the products in it. Plus my daughter really wanted that Too Faced lip gloss so it's win win I suppose.

Knew I should've stayed away!

Justilou1 · 11/11/2021 20:52

Smelled new Eau de Arpege yesterday. It’s like a cheap, soapy version of Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana. (Like Light Blue too, but it’s not EdA)

latedecember1963 · 13/11/2021 10:20

3 empties to report.
Sachet of EL Night Repair Eye Serum. I do like this, but never need to buy it as the EL lady always gives me several sachets or sample bottles when I see her.
Prai Throat and Decolletage cream is something I use regularly and started buying after it was in an M and S beauty calendar a few years ago. Not going to rebuy yet as it may well be in this year's M and S calender.
The Sanctuary Wet Skin Moisture Miracle is something I would consider buying once I have used up other body products. It was part of a set last Christmas. I do like Sanctuary products. Their dry heel balm is one of my winter essentials.
Gorgeous day here in Lancashire, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Very exciting today to report some empties!!!!

Space mask. Was sceptical however I really enjoyed it snd was fascinated by the warming! Will RP

It cosmetics retinol in serum/cream. Loved this! Fab consistency and can imagine using after swimming. Actually may have preferred to the venn one!

Ten active 7 eye gel. This lasted FOREVER! Great at de-puffing but I did get mild stinging. Therefore will stick to EL eye gel

Dr. Levy intense stem cell serum. It's ok. Would use again. But unlikely to RP

Maison Matine Warni Warni. Was ok. Smelled a bit soapy

Maison Matine Avant L'Orage. Didn't think this one had staying power. Didn't finish as not keen

Off to choose replacement from stash! Eeeeek!

FluffyWhiteBird · 13/11/2021 14:19

Three empties.

Radox bubble bath. My go-to. 5 more left in the stash!

Simple gel-cream, a nice base layer not quite as good as the Clarins version but significantly cheaper. It's a regular thing for me now, think there's around 4 left in the stash.

Olay anti aging day cream with SPF 15. Nice cream under makeup. Sinks in well, unlike a lot of cheap face creams. One of the few anti aging products I can use (my face doesn't tolerate retinol so I'm guessing this has none). Would repurchase but I have a whole stash of things to try first before deciding on my final product.

Passthebubbly · 13/11/2021 14:30

I think there is no hope for me. I just caved and opened every single box on my look fantastic advent box. Every last box, I am beyond help 😂

daisyjgrey · 13/11/2021 14:35

@Passthebubbly

It's not even the end of November! You heathen! 😂😂

Passthebubbly · 13/11/2021 14:37

I know but good god it was a fun 5 minutes 😂
