@SlatternIsMyMiddleName

I have a number of CT eye palettes. I find them lovely to look at but quite messy to apply.
Ah don't say that! I love the colours in this one so much. I used it last night when I went out and the colour stayed pretty good I thought. Maybe that's a reason to chuck the Number 7 one as it goes very flaky (seeing as it is about a hundred years old) Grin
Justilou1 · 06/11/2021 12:33

Oooh… CT is FIIIIINALLY in Australia. I have deliberately not looked or searched or I’d have to pick one of the kids to sell off for an eye palette or lipstick. Must say I did rather like the look of the holiday palette on YouTube, but fairly sure I don’t need it. I won’t succumb. Patrick Ta also new to Aus, and I must say that I was VERY tempted by the lip liners. Hideously overpriced also. But decent nude/browns are virtually impossible to find!!!
*Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they any good? I know the packaging’s spesh, but is the actual product lovely, too? The right lipliner can last me a bajillion years, so I would be happier spending on that than the four hundred and twenty twelve shit ones I have rolling around unused and dried up.

TheChosenTwo · 06/11/2021 13:05

Ooh @Justilou1 I have a Patrick Ta lipstick and liner, the liners really are lovely but I find that and the lipstick a bit drying.
They have great staying powder but do smudge on me.
Sadly I have 2 identical colours of lipstick and liners!

JunieSpoony · 06/11/2021 13:28

Glad to see lots of people still here! I’ve been falling off threads after just a few days, I’m sure it used to be longer.

Empties: 2 x olaplex 3 samples. I used 40ml for one use. Felt decadent but they were free (ish).
1 Penhaligon’s elisabethan rose sample, presumably edt. Nice but I wouldn’t buy.

Justilou1 · 06/11/2021 14:33

@TheChosenTwo - I kinda thought the purpose of liner was NOT to smudge! I wonder what I have in mind?!?! Do they “set” at all, or are they simply really thin lipsticks???

TheChosenTwo · 06/11/2021 16:09

Yeah, I don’t know if mine is just because it’s such a bold red (the shade name is something like ‘that’s why she’s late’) but it gets quite messy!
And yes, I think that’s probably why; it’s not a pencil, just an extremely thin lipstick, has the same almost waxy texture. It doesn’t set, not on me anyway.

Justilou1 · 07/11/2021 08:45

Thanks for that @TheChosenTwo! Going to do some further YouTube research later. Maybe some in-house swatching later on week.

PomRuns · 07/11/2021 09:22

I’m planning a clear out day in preparation of advent calendars and offers 😳

Garnier 7 day intensive replenishing lotion. The perfect body lotion for me, light bit very moisturising. 2 more in my stash. Plus only around £5 a 400 ml bottle. Much better then more expensive options imo

Aurelia cell revive day moisturiser. Was fine, nothing special.

nip and fab glycolic extreme scrub. Loved this. Very effective.

Experiment627 · 07/11/2021 10:07

You are doing so well @CherryMargo

Welcome @Wheret0n0w !!! You are not alone!

@JunieSpoony have you tried the Cerave foot cream? Works a treat on hands and feet.

@Caggie09 sorry you still cannot use skincare but so glad you are getting joy from other hauls.

I fell off the thread! I stopped getting notification emails this week 🤬

I started my advent this week - love opening up each day!!! Although have already earmarked some of the items as stocking fillers.

I have one empty:

 • Superdrug naturally radiant brightening hot cloth cleanser: HG for me.

I am also giving all the Boots Glow stuff I had to my SIL later - I really liked most of the range but I am testing something else out now so am paying it forward!

OP posts:
WellTidy · 07/11/2021 10:26

I highly rate that particular Garnier intensive 7 day body moisturiser too - it’s just that I have so so many others to get through too. I agree that 400ml for around a fiver is a bargain. It takes me ages to get through a body cream

I am on the lookout for an alternative cleanser to my current HGs (Elemis dynamic resurfacing cleanser and Estée Lauder perfectly clean foaming cleanser) as they’re both quite pricey so I have noted that superdug naturally radiant hot clothe cleanser, thanks! I’ve ploughed through so many cleanser in the last couple of years, I’ve only had to buy one in that time and really I only did it to get the Estée Lauder Boots GWP when buying two products

No advents for me this year (probably a good thing!!)

An empty - absolutely lovely Clinique even better foundation 30ml which I highly rate. Contemplating cutting the tube with scissors to get the rest of it out. Will be moving onto another full size that I highly rate (but being discontinued) - Estée Lauder double wear light

MidnightMeltdown · 07/11/2021 11:31

I might have to give the Garnier moisturiser a go. I'm always on the look out for a good one without a silly price tag. Have an e45 on the go at the moment, along with a couple of fancier scented ones.

No empties from me this week. I need another 4 this month to reach my target, but I have a few cleansers that I'm close to finishing so should be doable.

MidnightMeltdown · 07/11/2021 11:41
@MidnightMeltdown I hope you like it - I thought it was a really good every day use product. I just started a rituals and I don't like it as much.
I'll let you know. It's in the shower gel 'queue' at the moment. For some reason I felt the need to buy 3 different shower gels, despite only needing one Blush.

I then ordered a couple more from M&S to try, because I wanted a advent calendar for my mum and needed to make up the £30 spend. Think it's fair to say that I won't be needing to buy anymore shower gel for quite some time!

latedecember1963 · 07/11/2021 14:41

I cut the end off tubes/ sachets to get the very last dregs of things I like, WellTidy. I then either put the tube/ sachet into a sealable food bag or wrap it in a bit of clingfilm if I still have a bit to use.

Caggie09 · 07/11/2021 16:34

Two hair empties for me.

 • Lee Stafford Keep it clean dry shampoo. I think ive found my drug store HG for dry shampoo!!! Shame, its been discon though. I think it may have been renamed though, so shall give that a blast! No white cast through my hair, doesnt make it feel weighed down or tatty. Lasts around 2 days too!
 • Grow Goulrgeous scalp detox. Eek, think this was well past it. Turned really lumpy, smelt okay so carried on with it. I like scalp scrubs, make me feel cleanerGrin
TheChosenTwo · 07/11/2021 17:12

Ooh I’ve got an empty but it’s just a sample, it was the omorovicza cream queen, received as a sample from the latest Cult GWP and it was heavenly, I’m going to repurchase once I’ve worked my way through a couple of my open night time moisturisers. So nourishing and decadent, similar in feel to the Charlotte tilbury magic night cream which I also loved (but learnt quickly to apply in a thin layer an hour before bed!) but way less sticky. Similar in that it’s more of a balm than a cream. Heaven in a tiny jar, it was a 5ml sample and I think they only sell in a 50ml.

TheChosenTwo · 07/11/2021 17:14

@Caggie09 that was my go to dry shampoo too, I was gutted when it was discontinued a few months ago. Not found one that I like anywhere near as much, this actually made my hair FEEL like it had been washed rather than just making it look less greasy!

AprilLady · 07/11/2021 18:03

I realised I hadn’t posted last week, so two weeks worth of empties to report. I’ve being trying hard to finish things off before opening new products, with some success.

Empties worth noting:
Bom Dia Cream a much lighter, fruitier smell than the Bum Bum cream. Quite nice, but I prefer the Bum Bum cream.

Sunday Riley Retinol A+ is I think one of the stronger OTC retinols, and works for me. Have purchased again.

Zelens Vitamin B12, seemed fine, no evidence it did anything. Wouldn’t pay full price.

Christof Robin regenerating mask This is my go to conditioner. You only need a small amount so a full size lasts forever. Have repurchased when it was on offer.

Macrene Actives neck cream I think this was in a NAP collection I bought some time ago. Quite nice, but no miracle worker so definitely not worth buying full price.

Aromatherapy Associates Destress bath oil I really like this (still prefer Olverum though). Pretty sure there is another one in one of my advent calendars, which I’ll be pretty happy to receive.

Chantecaille Rose de Mai cleanser I was glad to get a sachet sample of this, as I’ve been wanting to try it. It is lovely, but no more so than the equivalent Elemis one, so luckily I’m not tempted to buy it.

WellTidy · 07/11/2021 19:48

latedecember1963 I cut through the tube earlier and there is loads in it, i think I can get a few weeks’ worth of this foundation. What a waste it would have been to throw it away, especially as I will probably buy again at some point.

PiscesSt · 07/11/2021 20:42

I got the Hannah Martin Ciate set and a free coconut lip oil. All lovely

Ponks · 07/11/2021 22:24

Finished a sample of Filorga time filler eyes, ok but not wowed. Currently using one by Paulas Choice which is much nicer.

Finished a pot of Aldi Rejuvelate moisturiser, likes this and for £3.49 it was well worth repurchasing, so I have.

daisyjgrey · 08/11/2021 00:21

Some boring empties.

The clean&clear feels like a sweat word but I've used it since I was about 12 and it always seems to do wonders so I'm loathe to give it up entirely. I think it's pretty much just alcohol and liquified souls of 90's teenagers though so I try to keep quiet about it.

Micelles water was a travel one and is handy for taking off heavy eye make up before washing my face. I'm not overly keen on this one as it's a bit foamy.

Ren glow gel crème was a sample when I bought something full size. I use it in the mornings it doesn't feel like a proper moisturiser, I like mine to be quite rich and this is very gel-like (hence the name I suppose). I've been using it in conjunction with the tonic and the overnight dark spot corrector cream stuff and I think it's helped, although it also was introduced when I became evangelical about spf and Paula's choice 2% BHA so I'm unsure I can give it all the credit. I have a full size one of these that is about 1/4 full left and 1 or 2 of these samples knocking around. I don't know if I'd rush to repurchase but I would choose them as a sample if given the choice.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 08/11/2021 15:19

@SocksAndTheCity I’ve just bought a primer (another one which has been reformulated) but will give that a go next time.

@Justilou1 I’m a Cancer so sorry to disprove your theory. Cat hair is exactly what my hair is like and also had friends and hairdressers say it’s like a doll’s hair. I’ll have a look for the L’Oreal bond treatment as I’ve not seen it.

NotMyCat · 08/11/2021 15:57

Ciate purchase

SocksAndTheCity · 08/11/2021 16:15

I'm here (and bloody freezing) Smile

Not many empties because I have a few full sizes on the go, but I've finally got through an Ole Henrikssen Truth Serum which I've had lying about for years, although I think any useful effect has probably long gone, and I have a new HG moisturiser thanks to a sample of Wishful Honey Whip - I got three days out the sachet and my skin felt amazing.

I am not buying it while I still have so much to plough through, but if Boots have any decent Black Friday offers on I'll consider that just cause 😊

JunieSpoony · 08/11/2021 19:31

Looks great, @NotMyCat!

I find empties inordinately satisfying. I think it must be because I never finish any projects in any other areas of my life Blush.

"I think it's pretty much just alcohol and liquified souls of 90's teenagers though so I try to keep quiet about it." Lovely image, @daisyjgrey
