Yes, I suppose it depends a bit on which one you're using 😂. I'm using a nice Rodial one at the moment which contains B vitamins, so I don't really want to wash it off my face as soon as I've used it. I was using a cheap Superdrug one before that so was less bothered about the order.

• Olay beauty fluid: this used to be called Oil of Ulay and I remember my mum using it. It is face & body but I ended up just using on my body & I really liked it as it sinks in fast!

Also just finished a sample of Roger & Gallet magnolia folie - nice but a bit too sweet for moi

sukin foaming face cleanser. Was fine, but prefer a balm.

murad retinol youth eye serum. Don’t think it did anything.

original source lavender and Rosemary body wash. I loved this, hydrating, good lather abs smells gorgeous. Better than rituals and much cheaper.

Inkey List hyaluronic acid - really liked this, was bought for a present but then I used it (oops) very good value I thought.

I did my stock take yesterday morning whilst the youngest was having a bath. Haven’t made a proper list of products yet but I’ve put them all in one place for sorting. Not the most exciting, but I’ve somehow accumulated seven deodorant roll ons, so I definitely didn’t need to buy the Wild can and three refills that I did last week

I’ve also realised that I cannot in good conscience keep the M&S beauty advent calendar for myself so I think it will be a present for our amazing cleaner who I cannot thank enough. Hopefully the calendar will go some way towards that though

No empties here. Lots of full sizes on the go. I still have no sense of smell post-Covid and it is putting me off using my nice body stuff like Occitane almond or Rituals Sakura. The Garnier and Waitrose own brand are getting good use though

Hello ladies! 👋 I hope everyone’s looking forward to the holiday season, and I wish that you all get the best deals during the sales! 🛒

Below are my October empties:

1. Time Delay Daily Skin Health deep cleansing facial exfoliator (100 ml; £7.99) – it expired at least 7 years ago 🤮 and it has been discontinued for a long time. The reason why it took me so long to use it up was its unpleasant chemical scent (the ingredient list makes me cringe, too: lots of parabens, mineral oil, SLS, synthetic perfume, etc. – just shows how ignorant I was about the skincare ingredients back in the day!). It did exfoliate well, although dehydrated my skin a bit. This was the last facial scrub in my stash (woohoo!), now I have only acids left.

2. L'Etoile Rouge Desir Lipstick in 408 mariage (2 g; gifted to me by a friend) – it expired approximately 7 years ago, and it was discontinued in July 2015. It had a very strong pigment which didn’t fade through the day, and had a very pleasant scent which never changed in all these years, so I kept using it. It had a tendency to bleed though, so I always used the lip pencil before the application.

3. ARgENTUM la potion infinite restorative day & night cream (5 ml; GWP) – the product description promised ‘a pleasant tightening effect whilst stimulating circulation for re-energised, radiant skin’. Well, as soon as I applied it, my face turned red and started to feel like it was melting off. The reviews were mostly five stars, and tbh that’s what I expected them to be for the price of £158 for a 70 ml bottle 😵 Maybe I just got a bad batch 🤷‍♀️ Maybe it had expired before I opened it, although I received it in February 2021, and stored it in a cool and dry place until October.

The total number of products left: 65 foil sachets, 55 deluxe samples and 226 full-size products.

P. S. In October I managed to achieve one of my 2021 goals – to finish 21 facial skincare products of any size ✔️

Overall, I have had very modest results this year, but then it means that I won’t need to purchase too much during the sales. Fingers crossed I will resist the temptation to overspend 🤞

Reporting my first 4 empties for this month:

1) Filorga Hydra Filler Moisturiser -Quite liked this. Seems to be the right consistency for my skin. Have a stack of moisturisers to get through so not planning to rp anything at the moment.

2. Chantecaille Bio Lifting cream - Didn't like this. It's extremely greasy. I have normal skin, which can be a bit on the dry side, but this didn't sink in properly and left a horrible greasy Vaseline-like film on my face. I used it a night, and even the next morning I could still feel product residue on my face. I assume that its designed for people with very dry skin.

3. The Body Shop Hemp Hard Working Foot Protector - This is a HG for me. Smell is a bit odd, but it's the only thing that leaves the horrible dry hard skin on my feet soft and silky. Would RP but it's currently out of stock online.

4. Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo - I don't have dandruff, I just like their shampoos. I think that they're one of the best in this price range.

@MidnightMeltdown I have terrible cracked heels. I'm using Flexitol after lots of recommendations, and it's helping but not miraculous. Might try the body shop one now! And look on the bright side with the Chantecaille--imagine if it was an HG at those prices...

My stash is less than half the size it was at the end of 2018. Both in terms of number of products and their size. Obviously it is still on the large side (!) but hey, I’m amongst friends here. I have so many friends who barely use any products or just have the one they’re using on the go. I’m not sure I know anyone in real life who buys advent calendars or things like M&S beauty boxes, for example.

@JunieSpoony did you try Udderly Smooth for cracked heels? One of my fave products. It sorted my cracked hands, flaky shins and dry heels. Worth a try if you haven't already? Amazon.
