@PomRuns - it was discontinued for a while, but there were riots and strikes and wailing in the streets. It was returned soon after as Clinique was going through the doldrums and didn’t have much to offer at the time.

Ponks · 20/10/2021 23:37

@Justilou1 the pot of LaNeige lip balm is lasting well , but the balm itself wears off my lips very quickly, is what I meant. Agree with you re the texture though, much nicer than most waxy lip balms.

Finished a sample of Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call Overnight Regenerative Treatment. Good sample size enough for three nights. Surprising lovely when on, skin feels soft and smooth but it doesn't work miracles Smile. I've tried a couple of things from this brand and been very impressed.

Finished: yet another Ren Ready Steady Glow toner from a GWP. I will never buy this, much nicer toners out there. Have another from a beauty box in the stash.

Finished: Superdrug Vitamin C radiant oil cleanser, not as nice as Superfacialist so I won't repurchase.

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 02:24

I had a nice little delivery today, mostly Christmas things. Pink sparkly makeup brush set for DD, a multipack fake advent calendar sort of thing also for DD (not nearly as good value as the U.K./US ones, most of the things are sample sizes), and some trials/samples of The Inkey caffeine eye cream, Dr Jart ceramidin and a little finishing powder. Kosas is the brand, I think.

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 02:25

@Ponks, the REN toner is everywhere! I have a small bottle myself and it seems to turn me red and orange (got rosacea and sensitive skin so need something calming really).

PomRuns · 21/10/2021 05:25

@Justilou1 ah - I purchased them at the airport, pre DC, not as old as the Evian spray but I should still throw really.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 21/10/2021 06:54

So I bought the Aldi serums and jelly face and wash 🙈. Finished the Maui shower gel though. Desperate to finish the Drops Of Youth stuff by the body shop as I don't think it's doing much of anything but I don't want to waste by just throwing either. Also finished a travel size Pixi Glow Tonic and would repurchase but I've got a million and one toners to use up so will plough on with those. Next up is the Aldi Rose toner.

Experiment627 · 21/10/2021 07:43

🙈🙈🙈🙈 I just bought 16 full size items from Superdrug - in my defence all was half price & will form part of two new videos.... this is in addition to Boots haul which should arrive in next day or so...

Just bought 2 pits of lush ectoplasm shower slim tho in my defence both are gifts for Christmas and I resisted anything for myself as I usually go for a lip scrub when buying lush items and it nearly always ends up dried up and thrown away

MackemLass79 · 21/10/2021 10:59

shower slime that should be if there were such a thing as shower slim it mist certainly wouldn't be being gifted 🤣🤣🙈🙈

An empty: Miss Dior mini perfume. Received as part of a freebie when I bought some Dior make up. Really really liked this, but I buy cheaper perfumes than Miss Dior so I wouldn’t buy. I absolutely love having mini perfumes though - I get really excited about them and find them a real luxury. Which makes no sense as I have many many luxury skincare items that I somehow don’t consider a luxury at all and don’t get half as excited over Smile

daisyjgrey · 21/10/2021 14:48

@NotMyCat

Oooooh I love a beauty pie box!

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 16:57

Lovely box, @NotMyCat. Is the sweet tobacco thing almost a candle? There's nothing better than a parcel really.

Empties: body shop ginger shampoo that DS gave me for Christmas last year (he bought a gift set for DD and I to share between us, his first year doing his presents all by himself!) and a Herbal Essences shampoo.

I've realised that DD (who has quite severe OCD) hides random 3/4 empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner when one runs out but the other still has some left. She needs them to match. So I've got a few to use up.

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 17:00

I ordered some MAC eyeshadow and it arrived this morning (it's called "The bad girl" Hmm. Surprised to discover it's cream, although it does say that quite clearly in the description Blush. I've never used cream shadow before so I hope I can get the hang of it and don't look like my five year old has painted me.

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 17:01

@MackemLass79, that shower gel sounds distinctly unappealing!

NotMyCat · 21/10/2021 17:02

@JunieSpoony yep! The white one is called clean house candle, I'm a candle addict so wanted to try them

JunieSpoony · 21/10/2021 17:02

@Experiment627 I would love a photo of the 16 accidents Wink.

Experiment627 · 21/10/2021 18:37

@JunieSpoony I shall provide photographic evidence of my haul once it arrives.. still waiting for a Boots order from last week, yet the Superdrug one from this morning has already dispatched.

I don’t know whether I’m insanely jealous that BeautyPie haven’t deigned to grace the shores of Australia, or grateful. ($$$) Imagine that shipping and warehousing would be a pain for them.

Justilou1 · 22/10/2021 00:59

Oh! Empties! *Spoiler… not very exciting. Two Daiso Puff & Sponge Detergents. (They’ve been empty for a while. I have more in my stash. They’re HG, and have discovered they work brilliantly to clean my rings too.) The last of my Daiso cotton pads. I don’t use anything disposable for cosmetic purposes if I can avoid it now. Will stick to toilet paper for nail polish removal as I do it so vary rarely. Kerastase Shampoo & Conditioner. Overly perfumed to the point of irritation. Priced to match. Prefer Pureology. Lasts a million times longer too. Maybelline Sky High Mascara. Pretty great drugstore mascara. I usually use tubing mascaras, but this one’s a pretty great drugstore one. All three of my eyelashes are blonde and short and this one makes them visible and longer. They don’t clump together, so that’s great! Lasts well too. Make P:REM Blue Ray Gel Sunscreen. Love. Will repurchase the milk version when done with existing stash of sunscreens. Non-sticky, non-scented, highly-effective. The milk version is a dual chemical and physical sunscreen so lasts longer and will use it on my body as we are leaning heavily towards summer here 🥵. (Much bigger bottle.)

JunieSpoony · 22/10/2021 03:09

Do you have any subscription boxes available, @Justilou1? I don’t think there are any in Canada, at least not ones that do prepaid taxes and customs, and the uncertainty, fees and potential delays with that put me off. Both M&S and Boden do free shipping to Canada over a certain amount and all the taxes and duties are already taken care of so it arrives like a domestic parcel. I love it. The prices are a little more when you do the conversion but it’s definitely worth it for knowing where you stand.

JunieSpoony · 22/10/2021 03:11

Also, I think it was you talking about Korean/Japanese products upthread. I’ve just bought the Canmake mermaid gel and a centella cream. Always on the hunt for a face sun cream that doesn’t make my eyes sting.

Justilou1 · 22/10/2021 04:55

@JunieSpoony - they are surprisingly new here and tbh, I’m a bit suspicious that they are a fabulous way of getting rid of surplus stock near to best before dates… They’re also ridiculously expensive, and I couldn’t justify the cost of reviving one or two things I’d like with a pile of junk I’d end up donating or giving to my kids. (I do enough of that anyway, tbf…) Also, Postage in Australia is woeful. Truly, truly woeful. Don’t get me started. I think I would rather just purchase things I know I would love and use. Some of the K&J beauty sites I buy from have had better-looking, and better-reviewed subscription boxes, though… If my daughters were more interested, I’d consider one for a present.

Justilou1 · 22/10/2021 04:58

@JunieSpoony - it was me. I hope you love the Mermaid Gel. It’s an absolute fave of mine. I haven’t used Centella cream, but am considering trying some for DD2 who has sensitive skin. Can you let me know how you go with it? (Btw, their cream cheek blushes are the bomb. I use them on my eyes too. I’m into lazy finger-painting when I do makeup.)

MackemLass79 · 22/10/2021 09:46

@JunieSpoony haha actually it is really quite nice a lovely citrus type scent to me smells mire masculine so have ordered it for my partner who has already used it before and likes it and my teenage nephew
