Thank you to everyone who followed, it means a lot 🥰

I own far too many eyeshadow palettes for someone who doesn't wear or day to day (I have hooded eyes and just find it a chore sometimes).

Lipsticks are probably next up. I love a good red but if you asked for most shades id probably have it.

I kind of unintentionally fell into collection brushes. Spectrum Collections are by far my favourite and as a brand they are so lovely so it's hard not to just want them all but in general I've been a lot more sensible this year compared to last!

Empties are few and far between for me because I genuinely just have so much stuff I tend to rotate it all but the one product I've used everyday since it arrived it the Physicians Formula Butter Believe It Foundation. Superb!

AprilLady · 17/10/2021 10:08

I’m another eyeshadow palette lover. I have far too many (unsurprisingly, I’m as bad with make up as skincare). But I do wear eyeshadow every day. One of the good things about WFH and video calls is I can go a lot brighter and bolder than I would in the office.

For those who love colourful and sparkly eyeshadow palettes, I can highly recommend the latest Pat McGrath 18 pan holiday palette: Celestial Odyssey. I had no will power, so bought it on launch and I’m loving it. If you have more control, wait for Black Friday when it’s very likely to be available with a good discount.

AprilLady · 17/10/2021 10:23

After no empties last week, I was incentivised to concentrate on finishing some things off, so quite a few this week:

Olaplex 3 Definitely makes a difference to my overall hair condition. Have RP’d a number of times.

Laura Mercier Amber Vanille Body Cream I love this, both scent and texture. If you like Bum Bum cream, I expect you’ll like this. Smells as you’d expect - a lovely mix of amber and vanilla.

Nars eyeliner pencil Sadly, I had to give up on this as the tip kept falling out, like a cheap pencil crayon. Very disappointing from Nars.

Olverum bath oil. I’ve tried a lot of different bath oils to try to wean myself off this, but using again I remembered why it’s still my HG bath oil.

Origins eye cream fine, couldn’t really tell it did anything more than moisturise a bit.

Suzanne Kaufmann face serum Nice light texture. Couldn’t tell if it did anything. Wouldn’t RP.

By Terry hand cream (sachet)

Really liked this! Was enough for two uses. Smells as expected of rises, lovely rich cream that goes on like butter, is wet for a second and then magically sinks in.
I have bought their lip balm in the little glass pot (because it is beautiful on my dressing table) so I was expecting good/luxury and was not disappointed.
I have two many hand creams in my stash so I don't know if I will ever get around to repurchasing but I would consider it! At £32 for 75g not cheap but might make a nice Christmas gift if I'm asked.....

@AprilLady wow! Loads of empties!!!
What does the Olverum bath oil smell of? 🧐

I can't justify my eyeshadow collection at all to be honest. They just catch my eye and I feel a compulsion of some sort to have them all! Urban Decay used to be my brand of choice but I try not to look so much now that I have such a ridiculous amount.

I think the Game of Thrones collab palette was the last UD purchase for me!

NotMyCat · 17/10/2021 12:16

I don't want to talk about palettes GrinGrinGrin

supadupapupascupa · 17/10/2021 12:32

Ren* Atlantic kelp and magnesium energising lotion*
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of this. But it sits on the skin all streaky taking an AGE to absorb. For that reason will not be a rp

@Experiment627 smells, and Olverum is fairly unique - it’s a (strong) blend of quite a few different herbal oils - lavender, juniper, lemon, eucalyptus etc. It’s really lovely.

WellTidy · 17/10/2021 12:55

@Justilou1 oooooh, I am really interested in how you find your dyson hairdryer as my hair sounds like yours. Mine is shoulder length and incredibly fine (generic, not much I can do about it). In which ways do you think the hairdryer is good for your hair please?

Experiment627 · 17/10/2021 12:55

Sounds gorgeous @AprilLady! Where does one acquire?

OP posts:
NotMyCat · 17/10/2021 13:37

Second Olverum being amazing
It's great if you're stuffy with a cold or been out and got drenched or just feel meh, and you only need a tiny bit

Justilou1 · 17/10/2021 13:40

@WellTidy… I have found that once you know how to use the correct nozzles and know what heat and speeds to dry your hair with, you literally can’t burn your hair. It won’t allow it. My hair condition has totally improved. I spritz with a heat-protectant, smoosh in some volumising mousse if I’m feeling really fancy (rare these days, tbh…) do a rough dry (upside down of course) on the fastest, highest setting. (2-3 mins max) and then drop down to the 2nd highest for both, smooth it all out (Tangle Teezer round styling brush is a new find and another game-changer, btw.). Takes under ten mins total and lasts all day, which is a miracle as it’s hot and humid where I live. Without the dryer, I resemble one of the cast of the Croods by morning tea time.

SapphireSeptember · 17/10/2021 14:21

@Experiment627 Oooh, I love a good declutter video! I watch Lauren Mae, who's inspiring me to buy less and love what I own. I just think about the money I've spent on things I've never used, and that helps some. If I use it, then that's money well spent. Smile And it does bring me joy, especially my collection of weird lipstick/lipgloss shades, and my ABH highlighter palettes. I tried to talk myself out of them, bought a really pretty Revolution highlighter palette instead, (Ultra cool glow) which I love, but then bought them anyway. I got them during lockdown last year, and they were all half price, yay! (They're the Aurora, Dream and Moonchild ones.)

SapphireSeptember · 17/10/2021 14:29

@SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace I'll have to corral my lipstick/lipgloss collection together somehow and take some pictures. I own every shade of the rainbow, lots not in the rainbow, and I just can't help myself. I love Revlon lipsticks, they're classics, but I think the NYX section is the largest. They've done lots of really pretty unusual colours, which I love, then I have to collect them all! Smile

I'd love to see a picture! I'll get mine out too (most of them are in a box so should be easy enough). Carter Beauty lipsticks are lovely as are the Beauty Bay own brand ones. I'll pretty much try anything though!

AprilLady · 17/10/2021 16:26

@Experiment627 , Space NK stock it. Not that I am trying to be too enabling, but you currently get a small free body oil if you spend £25 on the brand. It’s expensive but, as @NotMyCat says, you only need to use a very small amount at a time.

Experiment627 · 17/10/2021 17:04

@Justilou1 you have sold it to me!!!

@SapphireSeptember I shall check out Lauren Mae

Thanks @AprilLady!

@SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace

I'll do it when I get the chance. Smile I have way too many. When Revolution did a lip advent calendar in 2018 I was in heaven!

@Experiment627 Here's a link to her channel. Smile

TheChosenTwo · 17/10/2021 23:36

Finished this up today, was not at all as moisturising and juicy as I had hoped. It was a gel and seemed to literally evaporate after it was applied - not like any other moisturiser I’ve used before. Would not RP.
As an aside (and apologies if this has been covered before), has anyone ever used the Boots recycling scheme where you deposit items and they reward you with advantage card points? It looks incredibly longwinded and complex for something we should be encouraged to do even if not for the points!

TheChosenTwo · 17/10/2021 23:42

I’m also going to declutter a nars lip crayon which I’m gutted about as there is so much product left but it’s like breaking into Coutts bank trying to sharpen the bloody thing Angry

Justilou1 · 18/10/2021 06:14

@Experiment627 … I know it’s an investment, but you won’t look back. I bought mine about two days before the hair wrap came out and was really peeved, but am very pleased now. Everyone I know who has the hair wrap says it’s over-priced and under-delivers. Nobody uses all the doodads and it is really only great on longer, thicker hair. (That’s me out!)

Experiment627 · 18/10/2021 06:24

@SapphireSeptember thanks for the link! I have found her & started to watch! Defo made me feel better about my stash!

@Justilou1 i had not even heard of the hairwrap until it was mentioned here 🙈🙈🙈 I very rarely blow dry my hair.... maybe once a year if that! I just let it air dry and then sometimes (about 4 times a year) I will get the straighteners out! I am not sure when this level of laziness came into my life but certainly this has been the way for me for at least 20 years 😱😱😱 I think it came about cos I noticed that occasionally I get some natural waves if I let it dry this way... but as I mainly tie my hair back that is a lame excuse! Anyhoo my hair is not my best feature!

(Apologies for epic post - even I fell asleep reading that back)

@TheChosenTwo I had not heard about it!!!! I will look into it!

One empty today. Sanctuary Spa antibacterial hand wash. It's lovely, I've been using it as a shower gel.

JunieSpoony · 19/10/2021 02:08

I’ve been lurking on this thread. I think it’s having the opposite effect as I have just spent $200 at Sephora Blush
