Do you like the curated ear look?

And if you do, where do you normally buy your flat back earrings from?

I have this kind of thing and like really small earrings though I'm quite bored with what I have now and looking for some ideas!

Do you like the curated ear look?

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've seen some really lovely earrings.

Oh and I didn't coin the phrase curated ear myself, it's just what it's called that's all, but feel free to call it what you like of course. 🤷🤣 It's not always both ears either.

I recently tried, and liked, an ear cuff. How the hell do you stop them falling off? Needless to say, I lost it.

Hopeisallineed · 03/08/2021 08:21

I have numerous piercings in my ears since the 80s! Never heard it called that nonsense before! 😂

orangejuicer · 03/08/2021 08:22

Oh the 90s are back!

Hopeisallineed · 03/08/2021 08:24

Or the 80s!

PieceOfString · 03/08/2021 08:32

Silverrain on Etsy is very good and not expensive.

Artus · 03/08/2021 08:34

Very late 70s in my case! Only use one now but the others have never completely closed. Might not be such a good look in my sixties though!

HelloChompy · 03/08/2021 08:34

An association of professional piercers studio will have a range of high quality jewellery. If you don't have one near you, a lot will do mail order. A lot of the time they only list a small selection of jewellery as they don't tend to stay in the cabinets long! If you are on Facebook you will see a better range of what they tend to have.

Curated ears?

🤣🤣

NautaOcts · 03/08/2021 08:37

Love a curated ear, a pink lip, and a straight jean.

@AleynEivlys

Yes! I've been busily piercing mine for almost a year now. I get nearly all of my stuff from Etsy. Can't justify the price of higher end stuff like Maria Tash unfortunately, though there are indeed some beautiful pieces.

(I've only had the rook a month which is why it is still sporting a titanium barbell. Hate how bare my right ear looks!)

Curated ear is a silly expression but this looks amazing
CloseYourEyesAndSee · 03/08/2021 08:43

'Curated ear' is the term invented by expensive jewellery companies when they saw a gap in the market, for 40 plus women who have loads of holes in our ears from the 90s and no longer want to wear the 'hoops of descending size' look or 'random CND or yin yang earrings bought from the market' look
My extra holes were empty for over a decade and I got some nose studs on eBay that I used to fill them as I don't have a Maria tash budget!

AleynEivlys · 03/08/2021 08:44

Oh, thank you so much @CloseYourEyesAndSee. 😊😊 I don't like to call them curated ears either as I feel like it sounds too posh/poncey for what I am going for (and can afford). I tend to refer to myself as 'multi-pierced'. 😂

FreeBritnee · 03/08/2021 08:44

It just gets more and more ridiculous. A curated ear? Fuck I’m old.

RoseyCake · 03/08/2021 08:46

@AleynEivlys they do take a while to heal properly don't they? I got a forward Helix recently, no problems so far so hoping this one doesn't take as long! What others are you thinking of getting? (I'm nosey and I like pericings 😂)

Haha love this. I have closed holes from the late 90s. Might try to open them up and have myself an ear party Grin

On a serious note just look my DD to get her ears pierced at Astrid & Miyu - they had some nice stuff and reasonably priced.

Anonymouslyposting · 03/08/2021 08:50

I hate it. To each her own and all that but it’s not for me and it makes me feel a bit sick to think of all those needles going through people’s ears. Confused

AleynEivlys · 03/08/2021 08:53

@RoseyCake, mine seem to take about 9 months each so I tend to get two or three done at a time. The rook was too scary though, so I had that done on its own - turned out to be almost painless!?

Oo, I could talk piercing all day. 😂 The left ear is almost done really - I'm considering just one more, either a false rook or, like you, a forward helix which I might then connect to the helix hoops with a little chain. Sort of like a weird industrial type thing?! The right, however ... I'm planning a couple of flats and I really want to get a stack of graduated hoops - anti-tragus, another conch, probably a high lobe in there somewhere, a snug if my anatomy will allow. I've already checked with my piercer and he says he can pierce my anti-tragus even though it sticks out rather than up. So I'll get that next.

I'm dying to go now, it's like an addiction.

What else do you have?

LunaTheCat · 03/08/2021 08:54

I love the look - I have 2 boring piercings - I want more but just can’t be bothered with pussy ear stage!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 03/08/2021 08:55

Just bought a nice earring for my tragus from Crystal Heaven on Etsy. It's rose gold plated titanium, so good for Jewish piercings. Only £10 which is much better than £80 for Monica Vinader

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 03/08/2021 08:55

Jewish? That should have said newish

My feelings exactly. 'Curated ear'.. Whatever next?

I love the look but I’m very poor so get all my jewellery from www.jewellerybox.co.uk/
