£55 though! 🙈

LunaNorth · 06/04/2021 22:48

There’s a distinct whiff of the sea about this thread...

J Crew is where you need to head. They have many lengths so you can choose pole dancer bum skimming to lady golfer and everything in between .

Fashio · 07/04/2021 06:46

I would but they’re in MERICA innit

CovidCorvid · 07/04/2021 07:21

superdry

habibihabibi · 07/04/2021 08:07

J crew post to blightly tax included.
I reckon Boden ripped off them in the first place copying their shorts. Now Boden are having a go copying stuff from Fuggy.com.

Fashio · 07/04/2021 08:38

Oh nooo

BikeRunSki · 07/04/2021 09:20

Crew Clothing (not J Crew) may save the day, if anyone is up for some nautical fashio.

Quite Richmond-y, slightly iffy colours/patterns though.

longer chino shorts

Laquila · 07/04/2021 09:26

@SarahBellam your experience of farms must have been very different to mine

missmoon · 07/04/2021 09:58

Jcrew shorts are very good, but just to warn you that returns are complicated, take ages, and they take a big “admin fee” off your refund, something like £35. Also the quality has been very variable recently.

unbalancedBella · 07/04/2021 10:02

Ha, loving the Boden bashing. Home of all things unfashio-ble. Used to buy stuff from there in my 30s. Now in my fifties prefer New Look!

Also of the opinion that longer shorts are definitely less flattering than shorter ones.

BikeRunSki · 07/04/2021 11:23

So, Boden catalogue arrived today. I’ve had a flick through. There’s nothing that jumps out at me tbh. 15 years ago, there would be something on every page.

EveWasReframed · 07/04/2021 11:32

I've just looked at the Boden summer dresses preview online, and it's horribly similar to the style that M&S adopted during its terminal decline, where it wanted us all to look like we were on our way to work in a provincial building society.

This is not fashio. This is M&S fashio.

Why do men never have to suffer the indignity of 'fashion' every year? They just get normal clothes, well made, classic designs, at reasonable prices. We get asymmetric hems, cold shoulders, puff sleeves, cut outs, pie collars, flounces and flares! All in polyester. Why?

I want this on a T-shirt.
Redact · 07/04/2021 14:35

Those shorts are hideous and unflattering. Try J Crew, I have shorts from there almost identical to the Richmonds. I have both, actually prefer the J Crew ones, the material is better quality. J crew usually do a 30% off, free p&p and really good sales.

LaureBerthaudMaisOui · 07/04/2021 18:24

Really? Men do fashion too, you know

Do all the men you know wear Boden/non-fashion?

My DH is more into fashion than me Grin

Angelica789 · 07/04/2021 18:41

Every dress in the Boden catalogue was designed to be something you could wear to work as a primary school teacher in a heat wave. Not really the look I’m aiming for to be honest.

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 07/04/2021 18:43

I think Boden have turned to shit with cubic zirconia sprinkled on top for at least 3 years now.

Not the look most of the teachers I know are aiming for either.
Graciebobcat · 07/04/2021 19:07

If shorts are tight and have no give, they will squash your legs and be uncomfortable no matter how "lithe" your legs are.

And the only way I'd have gazelle legs is with a muscle-wasting illness.

itsgettingwierd · 07/04/2021 19:10

Awful.

I have next ones like those Richmond ones and also knee length chino shorts from there which are a much nicer cut than the ones you linked above.

You could just ignore it and wear what suits you. I've never cared what length of skirt or shorts werw in fashion.

So true. It is so bloody difficult to find well cut basics in natural fibres even if you are prepared to spend alot.
Fucking puff sleeves are the devils work.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/04/2021 19:13

Surely of you've got them in every colour and size, you can just wear the ones you already have? At that price Ali assume they last more than one Summer
