Whilst I'm a fan of the Richmond shorts, I also really like the paper bag shorts - especially with slightly wobblier thighs post lockdown.

But if you’re older or larger you just look frumpy, not fashionable. Clothes seem dire this year.

Looks like my —so-faded-they-are-pink—navy Boden shorts from circa 2005 will have to do another year after all. It’s just a bit of a faff having to poke my extra fat under the waistband with my fingers. And I can’t sit down in them.
But, as my grandmother used to say (or not), we have to suffer for fashio.

Boden clothes just look like you’ve given up and gone to live on a farm.
