Ive been using boots advanced serum for the past few weeks and i have to admit that im a bit disappointed so far! My skin doesn't look that much different than when i started! What serums actually work on a 40year old . I thought id be all glowy by now but I look as patchy and grey as i usually do in the winter 🤣

Right. My Clarins double serum has arrived, along with the cleanser and beauty balm in the JL set.

I have to give a live TV interview on Friday. What do I do? Jump straight into using it twice a day? What about the balm? Will I see results by then?

Thanks lovely experts.

Pixi Glow Mist. Great stuff.

That was quick. Hope mine arrives soon. Let us know how you get on. I will be using mine straight away. Does it go on before moisturiser?
BlueSussex · 09/03/2021 11:56

So I put it on last night before night moisturiser and again this morning before day moisturiser. No make up day today.

I don't look Drop Dead Gorgeous yet but keeping fingers crossed for Friday Grin

FreshFaceTime · 09/03/2021 12:08

Haha I've noticed it feeling better but am yet to see a glow. Not sure I'd be able to tell tbh. It's made my face feel amazing though so I'm really happy with it.

HollowTalk · 10/03/2021 13:17

I've been using Clarins Double Serum for a week and really like it. Anyone else?

StepOutOfLine · 10/03/2021 13:23

Mine has just this second arrived!
I'm almost hyperventilating and I speak as someone with 23 serums in the bathroom.
Now 24. Grin

FreshFaceTime · 10/03/2021 13:52

Love it! Face feels amazing Smile

BlueSussex · 10/03/2021 14:24

I have to say, I did a Teams call today and I thought my skin did look better.

I also have eleventy billion other serums, oils, potions Blush

So following on from the double serum, which I'm especially loving now that I've moved it from my night routine to morning routine, I thought I'd give the Clarins blue orchid facial oil a try and... it's so, soooo lovely! Couple of drops mixed into my night cream every other night... my skin has honestly never been so soft! Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is tempted...

Glad you like it FreshFace! I'm so glad i repurchased the double serum - really loving it at the moment. The blue orchid oil is still up there as one of my favourite products too - I don't use it as often but i reach for it every few weeks and it really is lush. I love the smell.

I'm almost afraid to say this, but I've found another fab product which is possibly going to join double serum and blue orchid oil in my top 3..... It's not very expensive but it is a Beauty Pie product so you need to subscribe. It's the Japanfusion ceramide mask - it is absolutely fabulous. I'm using it a couple of times a week and I actually look forward to using it. It's a lovely overnight treat - just a rich moisturiser really.

I only pay the minimum £5 a month subscription, so it doesn't cost too much. If you fancy it, there's usually a code for first month free - i can share my referral code if anyone cares.

This thread has definitely cost me money though as I'm now adding to my product list on a weekly basis!!

Is anyone still using the Clarins? Did it make much difference really long term?

I usually find serums a bit so-so, on my face.

They feel nice, briefly, but then go bobbly and my moosh feels exactly the same as it did before. 🤷🏻‍♀️

However, the Garnier Hyaluronic acid serum is great.
The Vitamin C serum is nice, too, but the HA one is brilliant.

Hi - I’m one of the original posters / recommenders under a different name. I had a 6-month period where I didn’t use it as I was using another serum which is also good, but recently returned to DS and have decided that I will continue to repurchase.

i don’t think it contains any ingredients / actives which will ensure real long-term benefits but the immediate payoff is fabulous.

it feels lovely to put on and my skin / makeup just glows.

if you’re looking for long-term, permanent improvements in your skin, I suspect you won’t get this from a single product (expensive or otherwise), but rather from committing to a proper skincare routine.

I guess I’m saying yes I still think this product is fabulous but if I stopped using it, I would stop seeing the benefits.

Deathraystare · 04/01/2023 08:58

I have tried about 5 different Vitamin C serums but find them all very drying and actually rather unpleasant to use.

Iamnotausername · 04/01/2023 10:27

Well, I mentioned it to a friend and she happened to have a coupkd of samples of that and the eye cream. I used the face oil for the first time last night and today I'm a big ball of blotchy oil. Good job I'm not going out today. 🤣 I'll use a little less tonight.

Experiment627 · 04/01/2023 12:50

I have not used myself but apparently The Ordinary vitamin C powder - that you mix up yourself is good - as it does not oxidise like serums tend to.
