I am a meet-up virgin.. well virtually.. and have certainly never been to a Christmas one before.. I was really impressed to see a thread about what people were wearing to it the other week, only to find people linking to gorilla suits and suchlike!

So could people PLEASE say what kind of thing they're wearing please?

I don't want to get it wrong!

Merci beaucoup!

princessmel · 28/09/2007 20:59

Dont think so. you're funny and seem kind.

StarryStarryNight · 28/09/2007 21:05

Cod, if you come as a nonner, please promise to talk as you type so I can recognise you, lol!

PooperScoop · 28/09/2007 21:36

I'm bringing my friend.. (I may have mentioned that already.. ) Now wat I'd walk into the infamous nest of vipers without somebody sane and completely unphased by MN-dom with me!

cod I have think about clothes this soon.. I am hopeless and penniless

So.. just to clarify.. we have to MAKE our badges do we??! Wot all proper like, with a plastic coverig and pin?! I don't have time to open my bowels, let alone take up badgemaking!

PooperScoop · 28/09/2007 21:36

Oh shit

PooperScoop · 28/09/2007 21:38

Er.. that was me, ShinyHappy.

I named changed an hour ago to post about a dilemma for a friend.. then spent and hour on the phone getting said dilemma straight in my mind.. then talked about other things.. came back to MN and forgot!

It's amazing how hard it is to namechange these days.. almost everything's taken! I had to call myself a dog-shit collecting receptical!!

If I decide I like it, I will keep it and draw a turd on my badge!

NappiesGalore · 28/09/2007 22:08

right.
am a xmas meetup veteran.

ask away, all your questions answered here...

from top of head;
-yes, we make own badges. but no, hey dont have to be difficult. get a sticky label and write on it if you want. crunchie had a crunchie packet pinned on. others did other witty stuff (tho was too dark to see most of them tbh, and was too scared witless, closely followed by drunk to know anyone much anyway.)

-dress code was a hotchpotch... reasonably well turned out - nice jeans and tops on some dresses on others. crunchie (again) was fabulously glamorous and has sparkly black dress on... so i will be in a dressy dress i fink (hey, i dont get any other chances to wear one!)

-i took my sis for moral support... and was nice enough, but too easy to just talk to her and not mingle enough so felt i had missed an opportunity there. mind you, like i say, the drunkness set in quite quickly and there was much camaraderie amongst dancers on seats etc... nott hat any of us remembered much afterwards.

-im really looking forward to this one. will be less scared i think, and much more up for chatting etc.

-theres so many people going, youre bound to get on great with someone, right? relax, its supposed to be a party! (am hypocrite. was terrified)

reckon codders should come and do that ta da thing... hehehe

and lapin WHAT outlet?? that gunwharf quays one?

NappiesGalore · 28/09/2007 22:09

I might go for Travelodge Farringdon. I think it might be nearby, at least it is closer than home!

NappiesGalore · 28/09/2007 22:44

clerkenwell??
how boring. is far too close to family to justify hotel room. .
i may lie and say its in outer mongolia.
and it'll take me 3 days to get home.

NappiesGalore · 28/09/2007 22:45

yes, farringdon v close to clerkenwell.

StarryStarryNight · 28/09/2007 22:50

StarryStarryNight · 28/09/2007 22:54

StarryStarryNight · 28/09/2007 23:08

Is the excelsior better? I havent checked.

Durrr... re wedding dress...

StarryStarryNight · 28/09/2007 23:13

Yes, the excelsior doesnt look so bad. Here

nappynuttynormabutty · 28/09/2007 23:13

I booked at the excelsior (was it not Travelodge who were on watchdog for overbooking rooms or did I imagine that ). Looked ok and we went for the en-suite option (in case we need to puke )
