I am a meet-up virgin.. well virtually.. and have certainly never been to a Christmas one before.. I was really impressed to see a thread about what people were wearing to it the other week, only to find people linking to gorilla suits and suchlike!

So could people PLEASE say what kind of thing they're wearing please?

I don't want to get it wrong!

Merci beaucoup!

Oh god, you make me feel so self conscious.

Will there be time for tummy tuck and silicon implants?

I shall embark on strict exercise regime. Hair dressers and eyebrow pluck shall be booked.

Why bother. Actually.

serenity · 28/09/2007 17:23

This dress, but in black, fishnets and boots - in other words exactly what I wore when I went out to dinner for my Mums birthday last week but I'll be hiding in the corner, people watching, anyway.

zippitippitoes · 28/09/2007 17:26

zippitippitoes · 28/09/2007 17:27

nailpolish · 28/09/2007 17:32

zippitippitoes · 28/09/2007 17:33

I am sure they look lovely..on me would look hilda ogden however...I can try with instructions...

nailpolish · 28/09/2007 17:41

its easy, zip, roller in one hand, glass of wine in the other...

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 17:45

Can I ask questions?

I have never been before..

Am I right in thinking this is the Third MN Christmas Meet up?

Do we REALLY get badges? What are they like? Are they coloured? Who gives them to us?

When you arrive.. being as I will recognise nobody because I've never met any of you before (Oh God! ).. what do you SAY???! Do you walk in and say "Please lead me to the Mumsnetters, my good man?!)

Someone enlighten me.. at the moment I am more frightened than excited....

Slubberdegullion · 28/09/2007 17:50

I am frightened too. I'm scared of the dancing. I'm OK at introducing myself, quite good at eating nicely, but I'm very afraid of dancing in public, esp in high heels.

I'm going to a barn dance soon so may try and pick up some cool moves there.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 17:54

LOL.. cool moves at barn dance!

I have ishoos with dancing also. But then I drink 3 glasses of wine and I'm absholutely fine with it

Unfortunately my friend tells me that I always do some strange version of the locomotion (alone!) when I dance.. and seeing as I am always pissed (or I don't dance!) I never remember!

And unfortunately this is the same non-MN-ing friend who I am bringing!

Can someone answer my questions please? I am laying awake at night thinking about them.. (well.. nearly.. am so sleep deprived that I pass out when I hit mattress until first squawk from DS ... but I am concerned!)

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 28/09/2007 17:56

SJ, come and find me when you arrive. I'll squash you to my norks, comfortingly.

And after that, it will all seem less scary. Because nothing's more terrifying than being clutched to my bosom.

Wotzknot · 28/09/2007 17:56

Please can someone go in a batman outfit? Maybe tech will?

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 18:02

Thank you Hunker..but... so the badges are clearly MARKED WITH OUR MUMSNET NAMES are they??! (Or else I might run up to the wrong pair of norks!!)

My friend (non-MNer) is not in the least concerned about any of it.. bloody nutter!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 28/09/2007 18:14

This is going to be very weird.. people are seriously not going to be how imagined them are they!!

Naily.. propping up the bar??! This is not the image I have of you!

And I'm sure someone said Hunker was quiet in real life!!

Do we really have to make our own badges??! A definitive answer please! I need to know!!!
