TOAST

Now I never thought I'd say this, not until my mid 40's at least, but I feel like celebrating the wonders of TOAST! I'm not sure I'm game for the wintry stuff but their summer dresses are just perfect. For years I've longed for the undone, easy linen look but usually end up looking like a sack of potatoes... not this summer my friends!

My dad earlier said I looked "outrageously well sorted" in my new orange linen number - I think he meant well put together, and I've just got the navy on sale on JL. Yipppeeeee!

I need to do this price matching! So JL will refund the difference if reduced further after I bought? Eg Ria dress??

Moominmammaatsea · 17/06/2020 09:09

@goldpendant, yes, that is correct - provided you bought the dress within the previous 28 days of the final reductions. You can claim the price match online, using all the details from your order ie order number/product code/item description etc, and you should get an automatic refund message within the hour!

GazeboParty · 17/06/2020 09:24

You are guy are making me doubt myself😂

I am 30G now - narrow frame, long neck and 5ft 8 1/2. When lost weight a few years ago I was 30D - my boobs were tiny - this is the same cup size as 34B! Not big at all! (Clearly the weight went back on) I wear a balconette t-shirt bra, it makes all the difference to the clothes I feel happy wearing.

I tried on the doubled breasted jacket again, my boobs are barely noticeable, even when buttoned up! And that's G cup boobs under a size 12! Maybe it's the deep indigo that helps to camoflauge.

I break the rules, I wear polo necks, roll necks, round necks, a good firm bra and I'm good to go. I don't think I look matronly but I'm not ashamed of my boobs or my size - I don't dress to look slim or attractive - more to wear interesting shapes and silhouettes - my idea of clothing hell is to be a classic dresser - I'll have lost all hope when I get there.

Which is why I like Toast.😁

@Moominmammaatsea that's amazing! Thanks!

Oh it's been removed from their site altogether now so I've submitted but perhaps it won't work!

Thing is Gazebo, you’re tall and slim so, regardless of cup size, you’re going to look great in a sack. I’m completely the opposite, I’m 5ft 2in and, post menopause, no longer have a waist. Double breasted jackets and coats look dreadful on me.

I could probably get away with that jacket if I never buttoned it up but the entire point of it is how lovely it looks buttoned.

You beat me to it, and wrote the post I was thinking about. I hate the entire ‘flatter your figure’ thing anyway but I do want to feel ok with how I look. All the matronly talk was making me feel a bit bleh. I’m 5’7, size 12, 32G. I’m not interested in showing my body shape as such - I think the shape of the clothes and the shape they make is more interesting.
ilovecherries · 17/06/2020 09:46

Great post, toastcosiloveit

ilovecherries · 17/06/2020 09:48

It will still work, Gold. I got loads of price matching yesterday for items that were gone from the site.

goldpendant · 17/06/2020 10:18

Amazing @Moominmammaatsea - refunded already!

Does anyone know if the linen dress was further reduced??

Sorry that was me with the matronly Blush bad choice of words! Not in the spirit of the thread, that’s twice I’ve done that! I definitely do have body hang ups, sorry! One to think on.

Matronly is actually an awful word. I will erase that from my vocabulary. That’s why I love this thread. It challenges me as well as being like a nice hot cup of tea and a slice of cake! Brew

Are any of you into interiors too? I love the Toast aesthetic but in real life I love bright colours and pattern so maybe a bit busy.

That is the one I’m hanging out for - it’s really lovely in the other colours too. 💗
goldpendant · 17/06/2020 10:22

@Railingsohno I'm big into interiors too, but TOAST aesthetic is a bit Spartan for me! I like modern and bold colour, mixed with vintage stuff - a bit more eclectic that TOAST home is!

OP posts:
Whatthefoxgoingon · 17/06/2020 10:22

Is that the dress that was also in orange? If so yes it was reduced but I don’t know how much further.

goldpendant · 17/06/2020 10:23

@Railingsohno the linen dress is just heavenly. Fingers crossed for returns!

OP posts:
goldpendant · 17/06/2020 10:23

@Whatthefoxgoingon yes came in orange too (I paid £130 on TOAST for the orange and £65 for the navy on JL)

Heavenly is the word! I love the orange and sulphur colour too. Still full price on Toast

goldpendant · 17/06/2020 10:31

@Railingsohno do you remember what is reduced to on JL by chance??

Just butting in to say that ivar double breasted jacket looks fine on me in a 10 snd I am a 30F. I actually re-bought the same size when they reduced the price (have had bad experiences before with the price matching thing) - so I sent one size ten back yesterday. I really really recommend it! Currently waiting for Toast to reduce some more of their t-shirts ...

GazeboParty · 17/06/2020 10:43

I am tall and that does make things easier sometimes - but my body is too long for most dresses as the waist cut me at my ribs and the length is often too short. My waist is small, I'm an hourglass but clothes aren't cut for curves anymore - a few retailers are better than others but generally they are all rubbish. But I've got to know the shapes that work, the colours and the patterns too. I'll try new shapes too (never once did I try a jumpsuit though - trips to public loos seemed too complicated) and you wouldn't believe how many things I try on before I find the right one - hit rate maybe 10% tops. I binge shop twice a year - the rest of the time I wouldn't even consider going near a clothes shop.
GazeboParty · 17/06/2020 10:48

@Railingsohno My home is less rambling country home, more modern - white with an odd splash of colour or pattern or thing that doesn't quite fit. A lot of furniture from ebay/charity shop...haven't bought anything new in a while.

GazeboParty · 17/06/2020 10:50

@faustina what price did they go done to - can I price match, I think about my jacket for £107

faustina · 17/06/2020 10:59

@GazeboParty £73.50!
