As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

*gorgeous obvs 🙄. (Not least because she is!)

StCharlotte · 01/02/2020 14:32

I think Marion Bailey who plays the Queen Mum in Series 3 would be best. At one point in the last episode I did a double take because she sounded exactly like the actual Queen. She's in her 60s but could look younger or older.

Imelda Staunton (who I love) would have to undergo some major reverse-contouring as her cheeks are all wrong and would be waaay too distracting!

By the by, I'm not sure how authentic her portrayal of Princess Margaret has been but HBC has been glorious in S3.

7Worfs · 01/02/2020 15:22

StCharlotte don’t forget HBM obtained Princess Margaret’s blessing prior to taking up the role. Crown Grin

StCharlotte · 02/02/2020 09:45

From the grave? GrinConfused

7Worfs · 02/02/2020 09:50

Yep Crown Smile

frugalkitty · 02/02/2020 11:01

I love amethysts and I haven't seen this ring before (found it on Pinterest)........no prizes for guessing who it belongs to Grin

And this is just because we've not seen much of our mascot Max recently. I think she's probably got the best jewellery collection of the royals to choose from

BAFTAs tonight! Gown predictions for Kate? McQueen or Packham rewear or something new? Should be some decent frocks and rocks among the nominees and presenters too.

frugalkitty · 02/02/2020 11:54

Isn't there a rewear theme or similar for the BAFTA's? I may have made that up though. I'd like to see a rewear with a tweak.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 12:15

She did that a few years ago but I'm not sure the tweak was entirely successful.

OP posts:
frugalkitty · 02/02/2020 12:53

Not me, I didn't think it worked very well.

Rhubarbisevil · 02/02/2020 13:29

This popped up on my Instagram- it is Max and Wax’s wedding anniversary. Here they are on their wedding day

Whattheother2catsprefer · 02/02/2020 13:30

@frugalkitty the theme is sustainability I believe. So rewear likely but could be something from a sustainable brand or made from recycled fabric. I would love to see something more creative than a straight rewear but suspect it will be same frock, different shoes and hair.

BigGreenOlives · 02/02/2020 13:36

The BAFTA committee have made a big fuss about recycled red carpet, vegan starters & pudding & not the usual goody bags so I’m sure she’ll rewear. A friend of mine was at a big climate control dinner this week and said there were masses of limos waiting outside afterwards, engines running.

beanaseireann · 02/02/2020 13:48

I love the bracelet Max is wearing in that shot of an amethyst ring posted by frugalkitty.
It appears to have an initial W or M and an A on it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 14:53

Max's wedding dress was more restrained than I'd expect from her but her veil was immense!

OP posts:
paradyning · 02/02/2020 15:22

Think it was Valentino (her dress). Her veil is an heirloom that they all wear

frugalkitty · 02/02/2020 15:24

I think Max's wedding dress had a swirl pattern in the underskirts......I'm off to have a hunt for a picture.....

beanaseireann · 02/02/2020 15:43

I don't like Max's wedding dress.

AdaColeman · 02/02/2020 16:01

beanaseireann apparently the initials of her family members.

beanaseireann · 02/02/2020 16:43

It's lovely to have them in diamonds AdaColeman.
I'd love that. I can dream on. Smile

AdaColeman · 02/02/2020 17:30

It must be one of her favourite bracelets beanaseireann , she’s often photographed wearing it.
I’m with Zsa Zsa Gabor on diamonds! Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 02/02/2020 18:20

Some non-royal BAFTA looks from this evening. So far Zoe Kravitz is winning it for me, although her dress does make me think "sexy C-3PO"!

itswinetime · 02/02/2020 18:26

Just checking I have this right all the gowns tonight are meant to be either a rewear, vintage or a sustainable designer right?

RomaineCalm · 02/02/2020 18:45

Would love to see Kate 'rewear' one of HM's evening gowns that has been altered for her.
