As on the previous thread, please critique the outfit rather than criticise the woman and keep Megxit talk for the many many threads already dedicated to that!

Spoke I think you've got the definition of pussy bows and their wearers spot on!

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/01/2020 23:14

Bloody hell William, that better not be a fleece...

I really like CPV and Estelle seems a chip off the old block!

whispers I am partial to a pussy bow myself...

(Thanks autocorrect for trying to turn bow into now!)

😮 William looks like the sort of kid that gets told to take his non uniform jumper off by his form teacher there! 🤣

AudacityOfHope · 31/01/2020 07:39

It looks as if he put his coat on in the car but was too chilly to take the fleece 🤢 off

Gooseysgirl · 31/01/2020 07:59

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a retro shot of SFP which was posted yesterday to celebrate his 52nd birthday...

I watched the Royal programme last night and in 1 of the clips of Princess Margaret she was wearing the long teal duster coat to an evening event that several of us were admiring from a montage of outfits. I think it might have been in 1 of the Tatler links.
Diana was just so beautiful. I read the Patrick Jephson book a couple of years back, Shadows of a Princess, and it was a fascinating look behind the scenes. I know we have to take all these books with a pinch of salt, but he seemed to have genuine affection for her even though there were times when she made his job almost impossible.
We are now looking at it with hindsight, but I wonder how many of us with 19 year old daughters or nieces would feel about her marrying a 32 year old? My parents had a big age gap and made their marriage work but looking back now my mum admits it wasn't always easy.

FiveTwoFaster · 31/01/2020 08:13

There’s a nice shot of PW really laughing round the table with probably footballers. It’s very genuine and not photo-y. The KP insta and Clarence House insta choose great pictures of their principals. He doesn’t look especially photogenic but he does look as though he’s actually enjoying himself.

Xiaoxiong · 31/01/2020 08:32

What's wrong with the half-zip under the jacket? That's standard smart casual round these parts DH or is it the colours?

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/01/2020 08:37

Very suave photo @Gooseysgirl but I think he actually looks better in his current silver fox phase. Lucky Letizia!

I think SFP looks better now. He's aged well, as has Letizia. They are a very handsome couple.

DevonUkelele · 31/01/2020 10:29

Oh William no, no, no 🥱. You're still in your 30s mate, who said that looked OK?

Nice collared shirt (no tie, sure, that's fine). Jacket, all good. WT freaking freak do you need a fleece under it for?!.

Bad, bad, all bad.

And the missus has done so much good work this week 🥱.

DevonUkelele · 31/01/2020 10:31

Maybe it's the Aussie in me, but he has one too many layers. Hideous fleece thing and shirt and jacket ... pick two, coz one is definitely redundant.

BlingLoving · 31/01/2020 10:44

I don't mind the under layer under a jacket but the colour clashes with the jacket*. And if it is a fleece (hard to tell from here) then it's weird to wear that with a jacket. A light cotton/wool/cashmere jumper (with a zip if you like) is fine but not fleece.

*disclaimer - my dad is a BIG believer in a jumper over a shirt and under a jacket (also a big believer in a vest), but is suitably stylish to pick correct style, colour and fabric! Wouldn't be caught dead in a fleece under such conditions!

DevonUkelele · 31/01/2020 12:03

It looks as if he put his coat on in the car but was too chilly to take the fleece 🤢 off

For mine, it looks as if he got dragged out of the garden at KP, or doing some craft with the "kiddies" and some poor flunky said "sir... there's a function. Here, have this jacket... "

Precious little effort made, and when you think that his wife (and other RF women, indeed women the world over) are judged on ... did she wear those earrings/ that bag/ that coat/ that blouse/etc etc before; what did it mean if she did?

So much more effort made, just generally even, by women, and men can get away with this.

I know, I know... a bit soap boxy. But sheesh! Disappointing.

AlexGS · 31/01/2020 12:54

Oh dear, William! Light blue shirt, light green fleece and then a dark blue suit jacket on top?!

He should have dumped the fleece for a thermal top (worn underneath the shirt).

Lunde · 31/01/2020 13:11

It looks like PW wasn't meant to wear the fleece but was too cold to take it off.

Fleece AND jacket just looks odd - choose one or the other .... or pack a v-neck or crew necked jumper just in case. (as my Grandmother used to say - "it doesn't eat much" to take it and leave it in the car)

AudacityOfHope · 31/01/2020 14:38

I agree @DevonUkelele the double standards are really depressing. And degrading. As if what William actually does at his engagements is important, but what Kate wears to hers are critical.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/01/2020 14:41

It's a very Dad look isn't it? I agree that the double standards are depressing but what a good job he has this thread to remind him he needs to up his sartorial game!

BlingLoving · 31/01/2020 14:46

After seeing Kate out and about recently and Meghan on various insta posts, the silence today is really bothering me! Grin I need MOOOORE.

Looking forward to Baftas. Will she rewear or go with some cool funky brand to show sustainability? Stella McCartney?!

thisenglishlife · 31/01/2020 15:24

I think that Kate has one Burberry item and (she hasn't worn it in a long time), which is surprising as it is a classic British fashion house. She would look great in other Burberry trenches. They also have nice trousers and dresses at times too.

The trenches come in various fits and lengths. They can do custom ones and adjust measurements and embellishments as well.

Just seen that she has this coat and shirt from Burberry too.

Whattheother2catsprefer · 31/01/2020 16:03

Is she gasp bump touching in the first picture? And is she wearing a trench with a furbelow in the second pictures or is it over a same colour flippy skirt?

beanaseireann · 31/01/2020 17:09

Look the man (PW) was cold, you don't expect him to take his jumper off.

"FFS I don't care if it doesnt look good match."

Just like DH Smile

SpokeTooSoon · 31/01/2020 18:42

I don’t think that’s a fleece on William. It looks like those half-zip jumpers with the collar both he and Harry wear a lot. DH wears them too.
