Do these look like orthopedic shoes for grannys?!

Just bought these. Fitflop rally trainers in all black. Have been wearing them round the house today and they are super comfy. Hubby has just come home and said they look like orthopedic shoes, something like his mum (age 90) would wear! Was chuffed with them, but now not sure?!

I agree with your DH. They're hideous, sorry.

Fairylea · 18/10/2019 20:06

I agree with dh too, sorry. But if you need something for work for comfort then they’re okay. Surely it depends on the context!

funmummy48 · 18/10/2019 20:06

I have to be honest and say that I'm in my fifties and wouldn't wear them. That being said, there's a time and a place for comfy shoes in everyone's life and if they feel that good, go ahead and wear them. If they're being worn over the winter, with jeans or trousers, who's going to notice? Thinking back to my day at work, I couldn't tell you what a single one of my colleagues had in their feet today! 😉

cushioncovers · 18/10/2019 20:07

They are awful op. Sorry

AnotherEmma · 18/10/2019 20:09

Yes. Yes they do. Sorry.
If you've only worn them in the house, you can return them.

catwithnohat · 18/10/2019 20:13

One of my mega trendy colleagues wears shoes with a chunky, rocker type sole. As ugly as sin but they look really good so maybe it depends on the feet they're on.

On that note there's a lot of pug ugly fashion around so ugly shoes seems quite normal?

Batshittery · 18/10/2019 20:13

I'm a grandma and I wouldn't wear them! Sorry OP but they are ugly

CassandraCross · 18/10/2019 20:16

Your dh's description is spot on. However, my stylish MIL who is pushing 90 wouldn't been seen dead in them.

Collision · 18/10/2019 20:19

Really really bad.

Were they very expensive?

optimisticpessimist01 · 18/10/2019 20:22

Sorry OP, awful!!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 18/10/2019 20:25

OMG

I pity the Granny wearing those

Awful

Yoohoo16 · 18/10/2019 20:26

I agree with everyone else!

tumpymummy · 18/10/2019 20:27

They are fitflop so not cheap, but I did get them with discount. £57. Trouble is I have had problems with my feet recently and these actually feel comfortable. But dont want people to laugh at me! Could send them back, but struggling to find something comfy that I can wear in the winter.

Ohyesiam · 18/10/2019 20:27

Yup

TwirlyWitch · 18/10/2019 20:27

Sorry but they are really horribly ugly. But I do own a pair of fitflop trainers and they are so comfy that the comfort outweighs the ugliness for me. But I only wear them on holiday where no one knows me Blush

RaininSummer · 18/10/2019 20:28

They are hideous but painful feel are worse.

Solihooley · 18/10/2019 20:29

Yes they’re awful. You can get fitflop trainers that are ok, my mum has a pair that are quite nice!

DontCallMeShitley · 18/10/2019 20:30

I see quite a lot of people wearing similar shoes, all ages. It depends on your overall look as to how they come across.

If they are comfortable and you can make them look right for you, then keep them.

Saw a pair of boots earlier, people were raving about them, I thought they were hideous... it's personal choice.

Sexnotgender · 18/10/2019 20:30

I’m sorry they’re absolutely terrible.

SickySicky · 18/10/2019 20:31

Yes. They are bloody horrible.

legalseagull · 18/10/2019 20:32

Do they come in a different colour at least? Black makes them look like something Frankenstein's monster would wear

AlexaAmbidextra · 18/10/2019 20:33

Agree with your DH. Dreadful.

Solihooley · 18/10/2019 20:33

It’s the all black. If you had got them in any of the other colour ways I think they would be ok.

HobbyIsCodeForDogging · 18/10/2019 20:34

They look pretty awful in that photo, but I'd wear them if the alternative was crippling myself. How do they look with the sort of outfits you wear? I'm assuming you're not styling them with a wool midi skirt and a mismatched anorak with sensible twin set underneath?

Instatwat · 18/10/2019 20:34

Ooh no, sorry, they are terrible!
