M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2019

Starting a thread to discuss the contents as we hit December.

Who is getting this one this year?

This was my very first beauty calendar last year and it’s definitely got me addicted. I loved it!

This year you can order the calendar from 31st October. Price is £40 when you spend £25 at M&S. Contents are worth over £300.

If you do want to know the full contents you can find them over at ReallyRee (SPOLIERS!).

Please don’t discuss the contents ahead of time on here as most people don’t want to know (or as in my case, read then forget!).

I am very pleased as my benefit was on it's last legs and I was holding out for a Mascara in one of my calendars.

Also I didn't get the M&S calendar last year so it's a new product for me and I am going on a city break on Sat so it is absolutely perfect for flying!

RevIMJolly · 02/12/2019 09:12

I tried the Aveda stuff yesterday. I was just running out the door so whacked it on, quick blow dry then a woolly hat. it was only a few hours later that I looked properly in the mirror and noticed my hair looked better than it has in ages.
I am sold in that product now.
And you always need a mascara in your bag!

MelanieFrontage · 02/12/2019 09:46

A other great gift for me, I’m always on the quest for the perfect mascara so can’t wait to try this one.

redroses86 · 02/12/2019 09:49

I knew it was coming but not overly excited about today’s.
I often wonder who actually buys this brand? It seems to be forever free in magazines/inside beauty boxes/in M&S calendars.
Love the Aveda stuff from yesterday though, that was a great start!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/12/2019 10:05

Hi folks. Yesterday's stuff has given me swishy miss Piggy hair. Today, less excited... I wear brown, not black, and we had this last year, so I hope not too many duplicates.

GreyHare · 02/12/2019 10:16

I'm happy as I love this mascara, and also have lovely swishy hair from yesterdays box. This is my M&S calendar so I'm pretty pleased so far.

Sammi38 · 02/12/2019 11:30

I have bleached damaged hair. I used the agenda product last night after shower and honestly today, my hair looks a lot better. It was very dry and fuzzy towards the end, it actually looks healthy now. Very impressed!

Haven’t had a chance to have a proper look at today’s offering, but it’s a handy size as someone else said to keep in my handbag.

Sammi38 · 02/12/2019 11:30

Aveda not agenda.

Beadstar · 02/12/2019 11:37

I tried the Aveda product this morning. I haven’t noticed any difference in appearance of my curly hair yet, but I will continue to use it after each wash in the hope it’s doing some good.

I’m making an effort to use all the products straight away this year so I tried the mascara this morning. It’s nice but I usually wear waterproof so I’ll save it for dry days!

SunshineCake · 02/12/2019 12:25

Thank you @Batshittery.

SunshineCake · 02/12/2019 12:44

I rarely wear make up but looked very good walking my dog this morning Grin.

ReeRi · 02/12/2019 15:13

@Beadstar I don’t notice a difference on my curly hair either but like to think it does some good?

@SunshineCake 😃

MrsWidgerysLodger · 02/12/2019 15:40

Not overwhelming excited by today's mascara but that's probably cos I remember it from last year. Still it's decent enough and nice and small for travelling etc so won't grumble.

Keepsmiling1 · 02/12/2019 15:58

I was hoping for a mascara as I still haven't found 'the one' so am happy with today.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/12/2019 16:32

I’m a bit meh about today’s. I had this several times before in M&S calendars and I reacted to it. So don’t think I dare risk it again.

So day 1, 2 zero use for me.

I’m hopeful for tomorrow.

CointreauVersial · 02/12/2019 16:58

I think I still have last year's version of this mascara, but I have used the brand before, and it's not bad.

But I do wish M&S would occasionally venture into the world of black/brown mascara. A lot more flattering for many people than black, I think.

profpoopsnagle · 02/12/2019 19:40

I am another one that would prefer a brown mascara, I never wear black, it's too harsh. I will pass this one onto a niece.

MirandaWest · 02/12/2019 20:20

I’ll pass my mascara on to 14 year old DD (she had already put in a request for mascara if I got one Grin)

plightofthealbatross · 02/12/2019 20:43

The Aveda from day 1 has been brilliant ... tried it this morning and for the first time in ages I've been happy with my hair all day! Very pleased with it.

Had the mascara last year, and passed it on to my daughter who needed one. Worked well for her, so will give this one to her as well. Everyone happy.

BackOnceAgainWithABurnerEmail · 02/12/2019 21:50

I like today’s offering. I had a different version of this mascara in the calendar the year before last and rated it so pleased to have another. Can’t decide whether to try my day 1 hair stuff or swap it.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 02/12/2019 22:53

Todays mascara (Eyeko, Lash Alert Wake Up And Go mascara) is a bit... eh for me. I don't dislike it, I just got rid of last years from the M&S calendar and I found it a bit 'wet' and that it took forever to dry. My eyelashes are naturally very long and even longer at the outer edges and when I blink wearing this more often than not it marks my skin whilst it dries.

Yesterdays offering however has been used twice (washed my hair both days) and you'd never know I had the split ends that were plaguing me before hand! I don't want to use too much cos I'm having a fair amount cut off in 10 days and don't want to 'waste' it - but it is fantastic! :)

Expo · 02/12/2019 23:04

What was the Aveda product from yesterday you are loving? Hair remedy or damage remedy? Gotta get some judging by this!

Butterymuffin · 02/12/2019 23:13

Damage remedy. It does feel like it's made my hair softer after one use.

Xmasbaby11 · 02/12/2019 23:59

I've tried yesterday's hair stuff and my hair is lovely and soft! I used it instead of usual conditioner. Did anyone use it as well as? I have long thick hair which needs a lot of condotioner.

summerdown · 03/12/2019 05:51

I also have long thick hair. I used conditioner as normal and then the aveda. Really impressed, usually use Moroccan oil but had run out- might switch permanently
