Beauty Advent Calendars 2019

It’s almost that time again! Anyone have their eye on anything?

There is a good overview here: www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/beauty-advent-calendars-2019-39069

I’m waiting on the M&S one as I loved it so much last year (no sign of it so far but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for release date, so around start of November). I also like the look of the Look Fantastic and Nuxe but three may be pushing it. Grin

If money was no object I’d be on the Jo Malone and Lush calendars.

Last year I had the Elemis calendar, really enjoyed it lots of lovely products. I love the look of the Liberty one, M&S seems great value, Debenhams I cant see one yet? But I had a great Debenhams beauty box this summer so expect theirs will be great.

Love all these calendars!

Leftielefterson · 05/09/2019 20:50

Really fancy the Harrods’s advent calendar this year

Belindabelle · 05/09/2019 21:08

I have ordered the Liberty GWP. Still deciding on which advent to go for.

Nanasueathome · 06/09/2019 07:13

My Liberty GWP is being delivered today
I’m excited now
Will let you all know what it’s like

Writersblock2 · 06/09/2019 07:49

I was tempted by the Liberty GWP but I don’t think I can justify it with a holiday just on the horizon (and when I’ve got my eyes on at least two advents, and I’ve just spent £125 on the Cult Beauty GWP. Confused). This is becoming a costly addiction!

@TattiePants I'm interested in the Glossybox calendar too! Black Friday is usually in November isn't it? Is that when you mean?

Chillichutney1 · 06/09/2019 11:15

I’ve ordered the spacenk gwp, looking forward to it..The liberty was better value but I couldn’t find £175 worth of things I wanted to buy!

Will wait for the Harper’s beauty box to go on sale on Black Friday and that’s me done! Just need an old advent calendar to fill now

TattiePants · 06/09/2019 11:16

@rosebb1 it looks like it's 29 November this year. There is a risk that if you wait till then that it will be sold out but last year's Black Friday deal was really good.

Gingernaut · 06/09/2019 11:31

Is there an Advent calendar more geared towards skincare rather than make up?

I'm not one for cosmetics. 😳

indy315 · 06/09/2019 11:48

I like the soap and glory advent calendars, i think they are the best

SionnachGeal70 · 06/09/2019 13:02

I usually get M and S and Boots ones … but I’ve just seen the Cult Beauty one on Really Ree and it’s absolutely amazing so I’m having my head seriously turned.

BishopFrownofStThigh · 06/09/2019 13:52

@SionnachGeal70 that's the first I've heard of that one so took a look, it does look like it has some really nice products. And a candle!

SequinnedSlippers · 06/09/2019 15:44

Dropped a massive hint to DH the day the thread started and today a parcel from the Body Shop arrived for him! Yay! Thanks for the heads up @Writersblock2 Smile

ReeReeR · 06/09/2019 16:25

@Gingernaut There are a few skincare ones like Elemis, ESPA, Bobbi Brown, Rituals... Body Shop do a few... Many of the bigger name ones are more skincare than make up anyway IMO

Gingernaut · 06/09/2019 16:57

ReeReeR, I need to start saving!

Pomegranatepompom · 06/09/2019 17:26

I'll get that Liberty and M&S although the fortnum and mason beauty one looks fab. The price increase for liberty is a bit ouch though.

NWQM · 06/09/2019 18:34

This is true guilty pleasure confession time but I'm really excited about the Harry Potter Beauty one that Boots are doingSmile May have to do that one vicariously through daughter. Have dropped a hint about the 12 Days of Tropic but that would be for the Christmas Day onwards.

ReeReeR · 06/09/2019 20:11

We all do @Gingernaut! 😂

ReeReeR · 06/09/2019 22:30

I just had a thought - I might get myself the M&S calendar because it’s pretty cheap and then get myself a fabfitfun subscription which would be about £200 for the year and I’d probably get more out of it

banskuwansku · 07/09/2019 09:37

I am thinking to get M&S calendar too, because of the cheap price. I am still after the Mugler thing. I still have Angel perfumes left so hoping that they include their other products as well.

Alsohuman · 07/09/2019 11:14

I bought the M&S calendar last year because I was too tight to buy the £££ ones. It was a mistake, especially reading the Liberty reveal threads. If I splash the cash this year, it will be on the JL one.

Writersblock2 · 07/09/2019 13:50

@SequinnedSlippers you’re welcome! What a generous hubby - hope you enjoy! :)

I've gone and ordered the Fortnums one and will have a serious think about the space nk one.
Merry Xmas to me.

Luvacuppatea · 08/09/2019 17:11

Fortnum one for me too this year. Ordered last night. Really excited for December now - the calendar looks lush. I’ve had Liberty for the past couple of years + the Liberty gift with purchase and it’s all beginning to feel a bit ’samey’. Also the price rise makes Liberty a little less appealing......

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/09/2019 17:54

I've got the latest Liberty GWP but I think that's enough Liberty for me this year. I got the Liberty advent calendar last year and I loved it but there were a few products I'll never use. This year's Liberty calendar looks similar so add that to the price increase and it's a no from me.

I'm really tempted by the Armani calendar. Apart from the £250 price makes me gulp a little. I used to wear nearly all Armani make-up but then I loved continents and it didn't hold up as well where I lived (hot and humid) and I seemed to develop an allergy to the eye shadow (which broke my heart!). But I'm back in the UK now so have been looking at getting back into Armani make-up (their skincare is also amazing but very expensive) so this would be a good way back.

The Space NK calendar is an alternative as I love most of the brands/products included, more so than the Fortnum one. Harrods also sounds great but if I'm going to spend £250, I'd rather get Armani.

Then sometimes reality sets in and I remind myself I could buy a beautiful new winter coat for what I'm considering spending on a sodding advent calendar. Blush
