Beauty Advent Calendars 2019

It’s almost that time again! Anyone have their eye on anything?

There is a good overview here: www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/beauty-advent-calendars-2019-39069

I’m waiting on the M&S one as I loved it so much last year (no sign of it so far but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for release date, so around start of November). I also like the look of the Look Fantastic and Nuxe but three may be pushing it. Grin

If money was no object I’d be on the Jo Malone and Lush calendars.

Allbeauty have an extra 15% off beauty advent calendars (most already have some discount on them) with code BEAUTYADVENT. It takes the Decleor calendar down to £59 :)
They also have rituals, dr hauschka, lumene and a few others.

FadingStar · 18/11/2019 13:35

I love Decleor products but decided to go for multi brand calendars this year. The Decleor hand cream is the nicest of all hand creams I think.

plightofthealbatross · 18/11/2019 17:38

I think a lot of people were put off the Decleor one after last year's was so disappointing ... lots of tiny sized things. Products are lovely, but it wasn't good value.

FadingStar · 18/11/2019 17:54

Yes I always check the sizes. Was so tempted by Harrods one year but the contents were minuscule. High end and luxurious for sure but I would want more than a drop.

SymphonyofShadows · 18/11/2019 18:05

Not an advent, but I’ve got the Estée Lauder Blockbuster in my cart at Boots, along with loose powder and the red lip set. I‘ve already got M&S & Glossybox advents so I’m trying to resist. I’ve got a second rotten cold/virus thing in a few weeks though, so I’m feeling very sorry for myself. I’ve never had the Blockbuster before, are they worth it?

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 18/11/2019 20:53

Is anyone considering the Soap And Glory Boots star gift (usually the last week of December before Xmas if I remember rightly) .

It's the big boxset that goes half price - www.boots.com/soap-and-glory-sweet-tin-tations-10268290

It's better than the last couple of years have been IMO.

I've got £27.24 on my boots card so if I make it to £30 in time i'll purchase it for 'free' but given that there's unlikely to be another 400 points for £20 spend (thank you 3 for 2 gifts!) in time I doubt it'll happen :)

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 18/11/2019 20:53

Hope you feel better soon, Symphony!

SymphonyofShadows · 18/11/2019 21:29

Thanks Cotton! I usually get Soap & Glory but I’m not going to bother this year as I have quite a stash. It does look good this year though, I wasn’t that impressed last year. I liked the set they did with the powder, eyeliner and eyeshadow palette last time though.

chloechloe · 19/11/2019 03:27

Gin I had the Decleor one for the last two years (as a present) and really liked it. I don’t really get the complaints about it being a lot of small sizes as many Decleor products (eg oils and serums) are very concentrated so you don’t need to use much.

Sammi38 · 19/11/2019 12:05

Is anyone else waiting impatiently for the Elle calendar to be reduced again?

Bansku19 · 19/11/2019 13:19

I have enough of sample sizes atm. I opened birchbox calendar and I have M&S calendar for December . I don't need another calendar even though I would like one... No that's it with me.

Sammi38 · 19/11/2019 13:53

Just to add, my beauty expert calendar arrived today, it looks rather special! I think that’s definitely my favourite one that I’m most excited to try the products in. As I say, I can’t believe it hasn’t had much recognition on the blogs and beauty articles along with all the other calendars.

TattiePants · 19/11/2019 14:05

@Sammi38 my Beauty Expert calendar arrived at the weekend too. It feels very substantial and I couldn't help taking a peak in a few of the drawers. Definitely a favourite and one I'll be looking out for in the future.

FredaFox · 19/11/2019 18:42

My birchbox has arrived, I'm still hoping look fantastic find one or maybe John Lewis gets reduced on black Friday so I can jadvent 😊

PrincessWatermelon · 20/11/2019 09:50

Have had a bit of a crappy morning (nothing major, just petty arguments). But then remembered my beauty advent calendars and it's made me smile! That might make me shallow, or maybe I'm finding the positives and taking pleasure in the small things in life Smile

Sammi38 · 20/11/2019 10:46

Not shallow at all PrincessWatermelon. I’ve had a really rough year, and thinking of opening my calendars in December brings me some joy!

Still hoping the Elle calendar is reduced for Black Friday, for DD, as I’ve seen the amazon one isn’t currently available.

FadingStar · 20/11/2019 12:04

Princess not shallow one bit. I am having a great deal of problems right now and thinking of mine help me relax a little. I love beautiful things and they just make me happier.

FadingStar · 20/11/2019 12:05

Oh...what Sammi said is spot on. Joy is right.

PrincessWatermelon · 20/11/2019 12:24

I'm also saving the Birchbox for January, so don't even mind if I get given rubbish Christmas gifts as I've got a secret present every day in the new year!!!

OldGrinch · 20/11/2019 22:44

I'm so excited for opening mine had crap week at work and it's the only thing keeping me going. Have somehow ended up with 5Blush but will keep some back for Jadvent

Bansku19 · 21/11/2019 09:13

Formula 12 days of beauty calendar for £30 instead of £96 in marks.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 21/11/2019 19:50

A week to go on Sunday :)

PrincessWatermelon · 21/11/2019 20:12

That's a really good price on the Formula stuff @Bansku19. I enjoyed the night cream from the M&S box last year and bought a pot. It's £22 from memory, so that plus all the rest for £30 is great. Shame I can't justify it 😂
Although...it's definitely things I'd use and you never know what's going to be in the box this year. That is a set that would last me a good 6 months of face care, I reckon!

plightofthealbatross · 21/11/2019 20:48

The night cream alone in that size is £23 ... seriously considering that Bansku19!

Bansku19 · 21/11/2019 21:52

I am not getting because I don't know the brand. I have enough products that are ok but not my favourites.

The single brand calendar I really wanted would have been Origins one. I saw that they have had one in USA one year.
