Beauty Advent Calendars 2019

Writersblock2 · 31/08/2019 06:33

It’s almost that time again! Anyone have their eye on anything?

There is a good overview here: www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/beauty-advent-calendars-2019-39069

I’m waiting on the M&S one as I loved it so much last year (no sign of it so far but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for release date, so around start of November). I also like the look of the Look Fantastic and Nuxe but three may be pushing it. Grin

If money was no object I’d be on the Jo Malone and Lush calendars.

Amazon advent calendar is currently unavailable. Have they sold them out already?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 13/11/2019 21:08

Birchbox ... whilst it's not quite the same as an advent calendar last Black Friday they had an offer for x 2 of their old stock boxes delivered for £8! You didn't know what month but the contents were good. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for this year (and creating a new email address!) and hope to get so I can keep one then one for DD.

Kez0777 · 13/11/2019 21:28

Sorry I haven't had chance to read through so sorry if this has bees discussed Smile
Does anyone know if the Mark's one is still available in store? I didn't get it when I had the chance online and now I am regretting it Sad
My local eat store has shut down so will have to make a special trip somewhere and don't want to if it's sold out everywhere.
Thanks

Tweennightmare · 13/11/2019 22:15

Kez it was still in my local M&S yesterday. Low stocks though so i guess it depends where you are.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 13/11/2019 22:49

Banksu - My mum told me that there was an article about them in the newspaper today about people 'going wild for it' or something similar (she asked if it was one that I had) because it was £40. I'm assuming they sold out because of that.

I do hope they come back cos I was hoping to get one when they come down to £30 as they invariably do on Black Fri. Hopefully it comes back!

Whoops75 · 13/11/2019 23:14

I love the idea of these but my skin is so tricky I can’t use a lot of the products.

Cloud 10 have a fabulous one, would definitely be top of my list.

SapphireSeptember · 14/11/2019 00:42

Revolution are doing another countdown to NYE calendar this year (with a new Reloaded eyeshadow palette) which I am totally getting.

So far I've got the Harry Potter beauty and Profusion ones, and I want the Revolution advent calendar and countdown to NYE. the HP jewellery one, English Tea Shop and Pukka tea ones, AND the Hotel Chocolat supermilk one. Is that too many? Grin It's the only thing I like about Christmas!

Kez0777 · 14/11/2019 07:19

Now looking at the Birchbox one I'm really torn between that and the M&S one 🤔
I've always gone for the M&S one but maybe it's time for a change 😁

shinny · 14/11/2019 10:12

For those of you who have just bought Elle did you manage to get it at 75? I now can't get on the website - keeps sending me Bad Request pages and so I used my phone and the calendar is still at full price.....

Im using the hearst.co.uk website that was linked above. Of course now I have my heart set on getting it and getting it at the right price!!

Can anyone advise please??

TattiePants · 14/11/2019 10:31

@shinny I didn't actually buy it but I could click through from topcashback and add it to my basket at £75 yesterday. I wonder if they made the link live by mistake yesterday.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 14/11/2019 10:31

Sorry love, I didn't go for the elle so I can't help.

Kez if you're going M&S route go quickly as they're low stock in most stores of not sold out like it is online.

Give your local store a ring, it might make your mind up for you.

MiaN · 14/11/2019 10:46

this link works for 20% only off

I bought one Elle with the 35% link yesterday, as well as topcacshback. Same thing - had to first put it in my basket, after that link to the website again through topcashback and it tracked 10gbp

MiaN · 14/11/2019 11:05

Sorry, my error. I paid 75 with the link yesterday, the tracked amount on topcashback is 7.5.

shinny · 14/11/2019 11:48

MiaN - thanks soooo much for the link which I have just typed (took ages!) into my phone as I seem to be banned from Elle website using my computer and calendar has come up at 92quid. Not sure if I should just go for it now rather than waste time hoping it goes down to 75....

I dont have that topcashback so yes wonder if the link was mistakenly put up yesterday....

Id get BirchBox rather than M&S this year as Ive also had M&S for past 2 years so nice to have something new and different.

Tweennightmare · 14/11/2019 12:06

Shinny I had the same problem yesterday with bad request . I ended up using my DD phone and did get it for £75. I did get the link to work later on my iPad by putting it into private mode might be worth a try if you have the option

Sammi38 · 14/11/2019 12:25

I’ve just purchased the latest in beauty calendar. It was £80 for 12 days, including a 20% off discount. There is one item in there that is over £90 on its own and is meant to be absolutely amazing. They’re all full size products too and the contents of the calendar are worth over £430.

That is definitely it for me for calendars, I have several of them now! Looking forward to opening them in December!

Sammi38 · 14/11/2019 12:39

Sorry, not latest in beauty. Beauty Expert. Got confused there for a moment!

FadingStar · 14/11/2019 13:18

Same here Sammi...I bought it when I saw the earlier recommendation. Apologies - I can't remember the poster's name. That's it for me now too. I'm going to wrap the Beauty Expert box as a gift to myself from DH. I've already told him I'm sorting myself this year. Grin

Sammi38 · 14/11/2019 13:28

@TattiePants Thank you for the beauty expert heads up. I’d never of known otherwise. The products all look fantastic and it’s worth over £480. Bargain!

@FadingStar it does look fab doesn’t it? There’s a couple of products in there I’m excited to try.

FadingStar · 14/11/2019 13:44

Tattie, seconded. Thank you so much! Fantastic find. Yes, Sammi it looks brilliant. Very excited to try a lot of the products and will use all of them I think. The box looks so pretty as well.

Amazon will be back in stock just before Black Friday on the 21st Nov.

notangelinajolie · 14/11/2019 15:22

@shinny yes I did buy the Elle one at £75

Sometimes retailers test out links by putting them live for a short time. I used to great seats from ticketmaster this way Wink

I think the £75 offer will be back on Black Friday.

ajandjjmum · 14/11/2019 15:53

M & S still have them in store in Wolverhampton (certainly NOT worth a visit just for that though!), and with the current 20% Sparks offer, you can get it for £32.00.

Brought it into the price range for a friend's Christmas present - she can use it as a Jadvent calendar!

MiaN · 14/11/2019 15:57

Elle it went 50% off by 20th of November last year, it could be sooner!
