Beauty Advent Calendars 2019

It’s almost that time again! Anyone have their eye on anything?

There is a good overview here: www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/beauty-advent-calendars-2019-39069

I’m waiting on the M&S one as I loved it so much last year (no sign of it so far but I suspect it will be similar to 2018 for release date, so around start of November). I also like the look of the Look Fantastic and Nuxe but three may be pushing it. Grin

If money was no object I’d be on the Jo Malone and Lush calendars.

I just ordered M&S one! I have already forgotten what's in it.

No news from Mugler so far.

LEELULUMPKIN · 31/10/2019 16:20

whyamidoingthis For some reason if you just type in Advent calendar it doesn't show up. If you search for Beauty advent calendar, it does!

PrincessWatermelon · 31/10/2019 22:11

Bought the M&S one! Couldn't risk it being sold out when I get into store next week - I'd be heartbroken!! I enjoyed the daily opening and the thread so much and loved being introduced to new products.

I meant to buy the Ultimate Sleep face cream, but went with new pyjamas instead! Ironically it's being delivered at home next Tues which is the day I'm going to the store anyway.

Butterymuffin · 01/11/2019 11:02

I also went to get the M&S one yesterday in store. I didn't want to miss out and I like to walk away knowing I have it. Had a chat at the till where the assistant said she thought this year's one was actually better than last year's, and I said in that case I was very excited about it!

LeeLuLumpkin I'm planning to get DH the Next men's calendar - it looked like a good range of things he would like. I couldn't see it in store so I will probably order it online.
For anyone looking for men's grooming stuff, I've also just bought the Latest in Beauty men's grooming box which is £30 and looks like very good value. So that's something to save for Christmas Day.

SunshineCake · 01/11/2019 12:29

I looked at the back of the M and S one yesterday but everything was tiny. 7ml, 15ml, etc so I put it back. Am I missing the point here ?

FredaFox · 01/11/2019 15:00

Just been to order my look fantastic calendar and it’s sold out 😭
Stupid me hoping I’d get a discount code and had seen they did Black Friday deals last year
Gutted

Horehound · 01/11/2019 15:41

Honestly, I think those of you who got the m and s one will be disappointed.

banskuwansku · 01/11/2019 15:55

I went to M&S today and they had loads of calendars out. I wanted to buy a specific £25 product so ordered it online.

Belindabelle · 01/11/2019 16:13

Well I got the M&S one and I am delighted.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 01/11/2019 16:15

Not disappointed Grin

FadingStar · 01/11/2019 16:52

Mine arrived today. Can not wait until the 1st December. I love it already 💕💕💕💕Having peeked online a few days ago I know I will use everything.

Twisique · 01/11/2019 17:16

The Debenhams one might be a good alternative for Look Fantastic.

I am thinking of getting it as a second one to share with my DD greedy

MiaN · 01/11/2019 17:21

I opened my M&S already and I have to say I am very happy with it. 2 full size hair products are worth more than the cost of the advent. I will use about half of the products and pass on the rest. The packaging is gorgeous

PrincessWatermelon · 01/11/2019 18:12

Re: not seeing the point of 7.5ml or 15ml products...Small things are great to try. They might be really expensive so you're able to try something expensive without such a risk. Also remember that a full size eye cream is usually 15ml. And a face cream might only be 30 or 50ml. So the product might not be that small after all.

And it only costs £40!!!!

FredaFox · 01/11/2019 19:34

@Twisique do it!!!
I'll take a look at the Debenhams one

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/11/2019 19:52

Well I am not disappointed either in the M&S one.

Just had a go with the Emma Hardie product in it and my face feels amazing! First year for M&S for me and I am loving it already!

(Disclosure: I am away in Dec for several days so have had a peek in those boxes - hence finding this product)

I'm not cheating honest! :)

SunshineCake · 01/11/2019 20:27

I might get it out of saved money as 8 have just remembered I need to buy dh new pants and they are near enough £25. So is it spend £25 on other shopping and pay £25 for the calendar ?

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/11/2019 20:45

No Sunshine. You have to spend £25 and then the calendar is £40, so £65 total.

With regards to your earlier comment about trial sizes as I was so impressed with the EH product I have just tried, I looked up how much the full size one is.

50 ml is £40, you get 20ml in the M&S calendar so say it's worth £15.

That leaves 23 more days which works out at just a £1 for each further item.

That is how I am looking at it anyway :) Also, I would never in a million years pay £40 for a full size product without trying it first so this is great for me, getting to try things I could no way justify paying or afford.

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/11/2019 20:47

Just over a £1 I meant to say!

OldGrinch · 01/11/2019 20:57

I have now somehow ended up with a Look Fantastic, Space NK, Boots No 7, Birchbox and M&S calander. I don't know how this has happened, got to stop online shopping after a few glasses of wine Grin. What should I do?!!

Butterymuffin · 01/11/2019 21:03

OldGrinch can I introduce you to the concept of Jadvent? I came up with it last year when I bought a beauty advent calendar discounted in early December, already had two, so decided to keep that one for January and give myself a bit of a festive boost into the New Year as well.

OldGrinch · 01/11/2019 21:10

That's a good idea, maybe choose one to open Jan. I think I will send the Boots one to my DM as she never treats herself and it's not as heavy as some of the other ones to post. That would leave 3 to open in December

woodhill · 01/11/2019 21:11

I've succumbed and ordered the M&S one. I was in 2 minds

It was only £35 last year

LEELULUMPKIN · 01/11/2019 21:11

Same here old grinch. I've ended up with Liberty, Look fantastic, M&S and Holland and bleedin Barrett! However I don't drink so what is my excuse?!!

Buttery Muffin, liking the jadvent idea!
