Your curls are beautiful. I have quite wavy hair that when wet can go quite [frizzy] and curly but would love to have curls like that. What is the secret?

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 17:14

18 quid foldable straw hat that never sourced for me. I think it does the job and now I know it’s ok I may order in a better colour - this one had free returns which was why I chose it, but it’s a bit too brown for me.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:29

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:30

Unlike the toast one at £100!!!! shocking price!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:30

@ilovecherries how did you get on with your sale toast stuff that your daughter bought for you?

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 17:37

never, I kept the linen dungaree/pinafore dress, which was a great bargain. Left it at home for now though as it’s quite thick. The Mara didn’t suit me at all, and the Japanese trousers were just a bit weird on me, though lovely colour.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:39

Here is the skirt .'scuze the wet oatch on my tee from doing the dishes

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:43

Well I love their pinafores but I agree the denim is super thick and is mostly why I have ended up selling them because I find them 'stiff'. The skirt from Marks is a bargain. It is very neat on the waist despite it being half elasticated [the elastic is a robust band] and with a bit of culling my diet should be fine. Actually if I put tights on it would also be fine!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:44

The shoes I have on are my gorgeous toast plimsoles. I just haven't taken them off [well I have the ecru and the khaki]

whiskyremorse · 07/07/2019 17:48

@len and @never thank you. The secret is getting a proper curly cut but also following the aspects of curly girl which suit your hair. So I only use CG friendly products. Most days I 'wash' my hair with conditioner, squeeze excess water with my hands, add another blob of conditioner and product then squeeze the water out again. Shake my head about and try not to touch it until almost dry which luckily for me doesn't take long. Then scrunch out any crunch from products.
But I can never get it to look as nice as when Vicky does it!

SoyYo · 07/07/2019 17:50

whisky love your curl cut! Amazing non frizzy twirly curls 😍 I can’t wait for my curly cut it’s driving me nuts atm but it’s someone I’ve never tried before so 🤞

And cherries that hat shape was made for you! Big 👍👍looks fab

Glad the long denim skirt is a win never and yes show us! Totally bargainous

lou we want to see your new buys from down under.

It’s been a bit of a meh weekend sorting through hall/decluttering and food shopping. So boring but needed to be done. I’ve put a pot roast in oven for DH and I as we’re sick of chicken and diet veggie food. And I’m having a sundowner G&T and don’t care how many cals.

SoyYo · 07/07/2019 17:52

Ooh posted without seeing your pic never! Totally totally cool skirt with those trainers! Love!

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 17:54

Oh,that skirt is lovely on you, never. What size did you get? Love the curly hair as well!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:54

@SoYo - I posted a picture above although my splat of water on my tee is kind of off putting ha ha..

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:55

I got a 12 but its neat on the waist. it depends upon your waist really. The rest of it looks fine on me and fits fine. Its ok when on. I may move the button temporarily at the top. Or maybe I might just wet it and stretch it out a bit. I think the 14 would have changed the look.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 17:58

The waist on the 12 is 30 inches unstretched. It has a bit of elastic at the back but not a huge amount of give on that as its quite robust. Atm, I am probably a 32 in the waist. So for me, its neat as it has to stretch about 2 inches.

dontcallmelen · 07/07/2019 18:51

Ooh love the hat cherries
never a brilliant bargain & looks really good on you, am a wel jel of the toast plimsoles.
Soy yeahy enjoy the G&T & pot roast, ikwym we had a pretty boring weekend as well, tidying the loft & other various jobs, did pop to the local next sale & spent a fair bit on stuff for dgd😳 definitely handcuffing myself to the no spend bench.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 19:06

Thanks melen :) Quite an interesting news article about not washing your clothes. It made me think of you @ilovecherries

not a fan of cleaning clothes

whiskyremorse · 07/07/2019 19:07

@soy thank you. Vicky was training somebody up but they found it 'too much pressure' and have gone to work in a bar instead lol. Perhaps we curly types are too demanding and that's why there are so few specialist hairdressers. She is training someone else now but an experienced hairdresser so hopefully will take all the pressure on the chin. I hope your cut goes well too ☺️

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 19:10

Oh and meant to also say thanks to you for the compliment @soyo. Hate decluttering. I badly need to do it too and enjoy your gin! You bloody deserve it.

dontcallmelen · 07/07/2019 19:29

I forgot to share a fairly recent buy, bought some new fantasie bras omg what a difference they have made to my clothes looking a better fit & sooo much more comfortable than my M&S ones, I did the measuring thingy as well measuring under the bust then measuring boobs sort of bending over & then the difference in figures gives you the cup size, ie the difference for me was six inches so a F cup got them from John Lewis as they have quite a few reduced at the moment.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 19:42

well I bought some daisy ones from simply be and think that where I was going wrong was that I need a fairly full cup. They are similar to the fantasie bras. They are supercomfy. I have had huge issues with bras. The only down side is that they are slightly padded, which I don't need. I am going to look to see on JL if they still have them melen.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/07/2019 19:44

Im sure laska posted this website. Great prices melen:

ilovecherries · 07/07/2019 20:01

I’m still wearing post surgical compression bras, at this rate the undertaker will have to remove them from my cold dead body. I have massive what they call dog ears on both breasts, at both ends of the scars. Apparently it’s a common complication if you have a very large reduction. Mine are so big both the central gore and the sides of the cups are really uncomfortable. It’s one of the things that will be fixed when I have my revision in the autumn but meanwhile I’ve just to carry on keeping them as flat as possible with compression. Despite the awful name, they are in fact super comfy but I’m going to have to buy more. I only expected to be in them for a couple of months at most so I only bought three but given they are only allowed to come off for showering, I’ve neatly washed them to death.
